My dd got water in her phone and now it's broke. My 2 years was just up and I am not renewing it just so she can get another phone. Can you buy a phone without renewing your contract?

what company is it? My sons phone broke and we bought a cheap go phone (cingular) and just put his sim card in it. You can just activate it and use it on your service.

nah, I've run through cell phones through the washing machine twice now. You can buy used or refurbished phones on EBAY.

Get a replacement phone and slip her old Sim card into the little slot.

So I can go to Best Buy or wherever and buy any phone and just switch SIM cards? That'll work. Thanks!

yeah, but the brand new phones without buying a contract are $$$$. If you want to do that your best bet would be to get one of the basic Go Phones and then switch out the Sim cards.

Thanks. She took the card out of it last night and let it dry overnight. It worked all day today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't need to buy a new one after all.
