Cell phone plans...

Are you paying for any phones on the monthly bill?

I'm on a grandfathered-in plan Unlimited and I pay right around $90 and change (includes all the taxes, 911 fees, city fees, etc) that's for 1 phone unlimited. I was paying just over $100 when I was paying for my phone per month (about $20.50/month) and that included a $10 loyalty credit (which dropped off when I finished paying for my phone).

With my plan I get 10% off the Unlimited portion of the price due to having AAA (labeled Employee Discount). Also Sprint for the last couple of years has been paying my Basic portion of my AAA membership (about a $60+ deal and labeled AAA Membership Benefit) and I'm responsible for anything after that which we have the mid-level tier.

You should look at the itemization of the bill to see what the charges comprise of because it's not as simple as just quoting a price and having people compare.

T-Mobile, 5 lines for $105/month, 2 gig data each line, only one who ever goes over is my DD, Unlimited text and calls. DD may decide to pay for more when she goes back to work in the office 3 days/week. When I was still working there was a Comcast hot spot in my building so used that all the time instead of data.
plus the costs of the various phones.

Verizon $81.12 a month for 2 phones. Unlimited calling and texts, 3GB data a month, carry over unused. With the pandemic and working at home for a year my data is rarely used, using WiFi at home instead. So I don't even use 1 GB any more, and rarely used 2 GB before the pandemic. I know some people use crazy amounts of data which I don't get if WiFi is available.

Seems insane to me. I live in the exurbs and there are neighbors that can't get internet. So, they use their cell phones as basically their computers. So, I can understand their need for lots of data. But, I spend a vast majority of my time at home (where there is wifi) or at work (where there is wifi). We spend $350 *a year* for three of us. We use Tracfone and get the annual plans. Extra data is (from memory) $10/ Gb. I think 1000 texts are $5. DD burns through her data playing stupid games in the car, and we don't add more. DH has an excessive amount because it keeps rolling over. We use his phone to run the Garmin.

Verizon, unlimited everything (talk, text, and data), 2 lines, paying on one iPhone 12 Pro. $195 a month. It feels absurd but... We both work outside of the home, and I cannot get WiFi at work. Also, our home is not in no man's land, but for whatever reason our internet options are terrible and often we use our cellular data to get things done.

I have Sprint, 3 phones with unlimited everything. $250 a month. I feel like that's crazy. What does everyone use?

We use Xfinity Mobile which runs on the Verizon network. We have 2 phones which can be paid for outright or paid monthly.

Our plan is by the (shared) Gig and mostly we use less than 1 gig which is $15 a month now plus tax. Occasionally we will go slightly over the 1 gig and then we pay another $15 or we can choose to upgrade the plan to $30 a month for 3 gigs. Calls and texts are unlimited.

We've been using this system for 3 and 1/2 years now. We buy our phones either outright or by paying for them monthly. I have a Samsung S10+ and the other user also has a similar Samsung.

There are other plans available through Xfinity, but by using wifi mostly at home, we've done well with this arrangement. in 3 and 1/2 years we've gone over the 1 gig and ended up with a $30+ bill maybe 4 or 5 times. And paying for the phone itself can be done over 24 months - depending on our choices that would be extra. You can also bring your own phone. I've noticed that Xfinity does a gift card rebate which they switch off between products, and right now they have an IPhone SE that's free with plan.

The catch is you must be a cable and internet customer, unless that's changed, so it's sort of a bundle although the phone service and product is billed separately.

So far, very satisfied. We switched from Virgin (at the time) which was costing about $80 something per month with lower grade phones. We had switched to Virgin from Verizon which was a big savings over Verizon. I was an original Verizon customer but they got crazy expensive for less than I have now. So back through the back door to Verizon.

Verizon - 4 phones, unlimited everything: $195 with one phone payment. AT&T was less expensive but their coverage in our area is notoriously horrible.

Sprint unlimited 4 phones 99.99 with the great veterans discount. Of course taxes and 911 fees are extra. If you have sprint you can get a T-Mobile SIM card for free they even hook it up for you. Your plan stays the same.if your a veteran get your discount saves me $$$$ a year.

We have T-Mobile. Four lines, unlimited talk, text, & data. We buy our phones independently and outright so no payments there. Our monthly bill is $167 and that includes $5 for the Premium level of Netflix (can watch on 4 screens at the same time -- normally $17.99).

AT&T 4 phones unlimited talk text and data also free hotspot for each phone. Right around $200 a month. We looked at verizon but would not save any money and the coverage is terrible around us on T mobile or sprint
