Celine Dion's SON looks like a girl!

It’s a private school and simply part of the dress code. Don’t like it, don’t go there. I’m glad for the rules.

Well, if it's a private school, then I agree that the rules are the rules. I thought people were saying that there were public schools with rules on hair length.

I know a family with 2 kids- boy and girl. Asa and McKenzie. Can you guess who has what name?

Same family- the boy had hair to just past his shoulder blades, gorgeous blond and wavy. Just last month he decided he was having it cut and donated the hair to locks of love. :flower3:

I still stand by my earlier statement that I'd rather see the natural beauty than the overly touched up one.:bitelip:

I honestly don't know what a public school can do with hair. I mean...they can create their own dress codes, right? So are they allowed to tell people how to wear their hair?

Every public school I attended had a rule against "distracting" hairstyles. It seemed to be up to the administrators to decide what constituted a distraction on a case-by-case basis. Pretty much it just boiled down to the fact that if the hairstyle caused disruption in class or posed a danger (in for example shop class, mechanics or home ec) then it had to be modified. There was a kid in middle school with a foot-high blue mohawk, so obviously the public schools can't enforce the rule too much. I also remember a ton of boys with long hair but that was in older grades, not so much elementary school. I'm not talking touching the collar long, or just shaggy, I'm talking halfway down the back or longer.

Well, maybe its just me...but I think that is gross.

Here it is just the opposite. I don't see anything below the collar here and most wear it on the shorter side. There are a few in the highschool that are longer and one of the college students I work with actually wears a headband. Elementary school kids pretty much have the typical boys haircut. I guess I live in a pretty traditional area.

I live in a major city, and we have all kinds here in the public schools, rich and not rich kids going to school together. My son wouldn't be caught dead with the 70s Little House on the Prairie long hair. And highlights are definitely not big with boys here.

I think Celine just likes her son's long hair, and is using it as an excuse that it's what he wants. Since she hasn't ever cut it since the boy was born, it's her idea, not the boy's. And there's nothing wrong with that. I think the long hair is fine with me, but just the girly shirt in the first photo was a bit odd.

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: Why is he wearing a shimmery blouse??????

Ok celine, time to cut the curls off.
