Poor Celine - wonder who designed her outfits? And someone has chopped her hair off - she looks like a cross between Sandy Duncan and Julie Andrews. Haven't seen her in a while, but I think she needs new handlers.

I didn't see the whole show but what I saw seemed awful strange. For the all the hype and money spent on this new theater/show, why was she dressed like a man in black coveralls? The Elvis impression and the crotch shaking during "Drove All Night" kind of gave me the creeps.

The new hair-do might be very pretty with the right dress -- for now, she looks like a male impersonator. The dancers were also pretty poorly dressed. Didn't look like Vegas.

SOmeone involved with Cirque du Soliel helped choreoghaph the show. At least, that is what I think I heard.

Maybe the short hairdo somes from bing a Mom to a child that likes to pull hair?

I'm pretty sure you are right about Cirque du Soleil. I once heard Celine saying that their show inspired her idea to create this show. She may have actually hired some of them to help.

She may can sing - but I do think her strange outfits and stage show take away from her abilities. I think her longer hair suited her much better.

I think her costumes were designed by the Ringling Brothers circus designer:rolleyes:

Dan, you're right about the voice. That's what was so frustrating....the beauty of her voice and the songs was getting lost in the circus.

Does anyone know how big that theater is? It looked like the size of Madison Square Garden or bigger?! Do they really expect to fill that every night?

(As an aside -- I heard her early on her career talking about how some people told her she was too ugly to be a big singer and also that her not being able to speak English was a problem. Disney was among the first to give her a break. I guess she's proven the critics wrong.)

My DH loves her music, it makes me want to scream, all her songs sound alike.

Let me preface by saying I'm a huge Celine fan. That being said, I thought the show was tremendous. Personally, I don't think having long hair and being attached to wires to make you "fly" would be a very wise idea. Also, with all the choreography in the show I'm sure it's much easier to have short hair. I would also ask that you remember that what you saw on TV tonight was less that a half hour of an otherwise 90 minute show. I thought the costume for "I Drove All Night" was very in tune with the other goings on on stage. Also, in regards to costuming, I don't believe Cirque Du Soleil's (sp?) costuming is very traditional either. Also, just because it's in Vegas doesn't mean it's got to be "Vegas". Thumbs up from me...can't wait to see it next year!

Love her Voice, Hate the Hair! Hopefully she will grow it right BACK!

The show looked good - definitely more of a 'show' than just her singing, espcially with Cirque du Soleil involved (which I also love). She is a great singer, but I agree about the hair and outfits...hideous! I mean, you can have short hair looking better than that. And if they want to dress her in 'Cirque' type outfits, or just things that are different.....those were terrible.

I didn't watch the show, but they were discussing it yesterday on local radio, Do they really expect to fill the show every night? Tickets start at $87 and go to $200 per seat. As a comparative example, on of the more popular shows, which I've forgotten the name of, but it's water based, is around 100 a seat. They had someone on whose daughter works there and the salient points are it's sold out to May, but, a lot of those tickets were sold to other casinos to give out to the high rollers as perks.

The radio people did sum it up real good in one sentence:

"She's a wonderful singer.......but she's still a twit".

I'm not a huge fan, but I do think she is very talented.

And I must be the only person who thinks she is very pretty. Not classically pretty, but interesting looking. I like her short hair, and I think she has a certain style to her that makes her unique.

I agree Snoopy. I am a fan of Celine's and while I too, like her better with long hair I thought she looked really pretty. Lets face it she is not gorgeous in that model pretty way but she is very pretty. This is probably not a show that she could've done with her long hair. And, if she is anything like me, I grow my hair long then chop it all off, grow it long, cut it short...it's a whole big circle for women.

But if you also notice, no earrings, no rings, I think she is pretty plain (in a good way since she's got a monster of a ring from Rene') but she's down to earth. She has come from literally nothing to be this big star...I say Good for you Celine. I just hope I get to see the show.

Anyone have a picture of the new haircut?

I think her short hair looks nice with her long neck and angular features.

I think I like that.

I would love a long thin neck like that.

ps. thanks snoopy!!

I missed the beginning of the show, but was not impressed with the parts I saw. I am a Celine fan, but not a fan of Cirque. That could have been the problem. I also think I would have liked the new "do" if she hadn't changed the color. I don't care for her as a blond.
