Celiac/allergy options at resorts that will be reopening

Our 13 year old daughter has Celiac so she can’t eat anything with wheat/gluten. Disney has always done a great job accommodating her and keeping her safe.

Having good options available is important to her as she doesn’t want to eat the same thing over and over again during an extended stay. We were booked at WL from 9/30-10/9 but we have since moved to BC.

I am worried about lack of QS food options available at BC that will work for her. Marketplace seems to have limited hot food options compared to Roaring Fork. Geyser Point looks to have much better variety than Hurricane Hanna’s.

Anyone in a similar situation? If so, do you think BC will be able to help fill in those meals where we need to grab something without doing a full table service meal? We are planning to eat at a TS restaurant each day but there will probably be 1 meal a day that we are looking to do QS. AKL probably would have been another great option comparable to WL for QS food/variety, but of course they are closed too.

Any thoughts about our situation at the BC or suggestions for another resort that will be open that would be better for QS options (preferably deluxe at this point) would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I think you might get better responses if you "report" this thread and ask to have this thread moved to the Restaurants or disABILITIES forum?

At dinner the chicken dinner and rib dinner are gluten free without the gravy and cornbread.

There is a full gluten free breakfast, including mickey waffles. Plus there are GF bagels.

There is also a caesar salad that can be made without the croutons, you will just need to speak to someone to assist you and it may take a few extra mins.

There are also yogurt parfaits where the granola is physically separate from the yogurt and fruit, plus mixed berry cups, a tomato mozz cup, a cheese plate that can be gotten gluten free.

Plus mickey bars are gluten free :)

There are also rice chips, house chips, standard lays chips, GF brownies, and GF cookies.

Assuming the pool will be open, the QS at the pool would probably be open, they have an allergy fryer there so fried food options are available, plus other options too.

Beaches & Cream can accommodate allergy orders too.

If the resorts are all up and running normally then there is a lot of flexibility in food choices, you just have to ask.

Thanks you for sharing these details on the BC GF QS options you have found. This is helpful! We have stayed at WL before but this will be our first time at BC. We are usually a moderate or value family. BC QS just looked to be lacking overall, especially when trying to figure out the GF aspect. But it sounds like there are some decent options available.

Poly, CR or GF might be other choices for us too. Just harder than ever to figure out personal preferences now after the resorts reopen since some dining will remain closed.

It is a hard choice to make. At least by Sept, you should be able to move around resorts more freely so you don't have to stay at just one if the mood strikes for something else to eat.
Everything at Poly and CR should be open, I thought they were open now since there are DVC guests there? Obviously Chef Mickeys may be closed for longer, same with Ohana's, but the smaller sit downs are open (Kona cafe and the Wave)
