I just read on a gossip site that Katie and Suri Cruise spent last night in the Cinderella Castle suite. There are pics of them; they were definitely in WDW. Do you think they paid or treated? Thoughts? (mods-please move if this isn't the right forum)

I don't know if they paid or not, but this is definitely the plan for the suite. I heard on the Dis Unplugged (was it just last week?) they said Disney stated in a press release that after YOAMD, the suite would be used as an award or prize (in contests or sweepstakes) for charities, and for VIP's.

I hope charities more...just seems more special, more magical, more the way Walt would've liked it.

I hope not. I prefer to think of the castle as being reserved as an award or prize for a lucky average person.

They can afford to stay anywhere on property, so I really hope their room wasn't comped. Does it show that I have a problem with celebrity? lol

I just hate that idea. I think that it should be used as a prize not another perk for the over indulged.

yuck!

I hold out hope that it will be used for M.A.W. families and prize winners. That would suck if it was used for spoiled celebrities. Blech!

I agree. It shouldn't be just for celebrities. They are no better than the average person. I also feel if nothing else it should go for Make a wish, or another charity.

I personally thinks its rediculous that Disney is using the Suite for celeb overnights since it was created as a prize for a random park guest. I hope Disney didn't just give it away to them but then again being celebrity they probably paid nothing for the trip since "money talks". Hope Disney doesn't continue this and begin to use it for charities or for someone who would normally not get that opportunity to do something like a WDW vacation.

I also think that is unfair! I also wish they would either continue to have a give a way each day for park guests, or use it for something like M. A. W.

Do you think it was Disney's intention all along to use it for VIPs and celebrities and they just did the give away first so everyone wouldn't be so mad about it? I sure hope not. Like others have said, I think the castle suite should be reserved for contest winners and charities, not spotlight loving celebrities.

Disney like everyone else is hurting right now financially I am sure they will be using it for celebs and such.

I don't recall any press release that the suite would be used for VIPs...although it is perfectly within Disney's perogative to use it for that.

The press reports were that they would make it available to 3rd parties for promotions/contests. Beyond that they were non-committal, even about charities (although they might fall under the 3rd party category).

I have a feeling that they do not plan to make it available every night like they had during the Years Of Millions Of Dreams promotion for cost reasons.

Also, people staying in the castle were somewhat trapped - probably not what a VIP would want.

Also, Tom was seen around as well, as he was involved in Daytona this past weekend. I would expect that they'd stay together :)

I have absolutely not problem with Disney using the Cindy Suite for VIPs. Its their suite. It was nice of them to use it as a guest prize for a while, but now they are going to use it for a lot of things - VIPs appartently included. No problem with me

It did not surprise me at all to see that they stayed there. I am willing to bet they were not the first celeb and they won't be the last.

Little Suri looked so happy in some of the pics I have seen. Even a very indulged celeb kiddo finds magic at Disney. :wizard:

I agree with PP who said they had no problem with VIPs staying in the suite. It can be used for all of those things (charities, VIPs, prizes, etc.). Doesn't make a difference to me who's sleeping in there unless it's my family.

If that's an award or prize, they must be lucky and really had a great time. :thumbsup2

Have a nice day to all. :)

In my mind Waly would have wanted every human on Earth to be equal and have all of the same chances. Is it wrong for parents who can afford to buy their way into a dream for their child? NOPE! Business is business ppl.

Disney is a business not a charity no matter how nice ans welcoming they are. If this helps Disney as a whole stay in business and open I'm all for it.

Heck I hope they can drain even more rich ppl of unneeded cash between now and the next time I can afford to visit. Doods, we might get a new ride!

So do you think THEY get to wander around MK all night unlike everyone else??? & I wonder what they get for room service???
