Celebs in the castle suite?

Maybe I misunderstood when you said you couldn't afford CM but were able to after you had missed some meals. I guess I thought you had to pay for your meals. For us it was prob the same as with Lauren. CWF paid for everything and I mean everthing. My nurse (LPN), the van (We had to drive due to so much equipment), the hotel, rental medical equipment, the tickets and the food. What they did was prefigure food for all 5 of us and sent me a check. They told me to keep all reciepts and if we went over they would reimburse me. But they had figured 3 meals a day for 5 people and we never did that. So when we got home I returned $700.00 to the foundation. They called and were worried I was trying to repay them for the trip. I explained it was left over money and they said it was a first ever to see that much money returned.

One thing that bothered me was that Universal and Sea World gave us tickets and passes but the foundation had to buy Disney tickets since Disney only supports Make A Wish. And Make A Wish kids get a special front of the line card. Where others just have to get by with the GAC. Which is good in itself but it does not help in a lot of situations. We were made to que at Bugs life and my DD got over heated and had problems. There were others but that one stands out.

Celebrity or not... they are a family enjoying Disney. Where is the magic of Disney in this thread?

For me the problem is that they are ultra-rich celebrities. They can afford the most expensive suite Disney has to offer and can afford to pay to have Mickey, Minnie and Pluto escort them around the whole day and never give it a thought. I feel that the Cinderella Suite should be a fairy tale to be granted by winning it. Where everyone has a fair chance.

Am I mad or upset if they let the Cruises stay there ? No mainly just disappointed. But I do understand it belongs to Disney and they can do what they want with it. If I were really mad at Disney I would log out of here and never spend another dime on Walt Disney World or their companies.

Good Graces! This thread has gone off track...How did Tom Cruise and family at Disney turn into a dying child wish debate.

It appears they did not stay in the Castle. Not that I personally give a hoot. They gave their child a dream trip just like many of us have done but at a smaller scale. They deserve the extra secruity because people have decided that because of their status they don't deserve privacy and normalcy in their lives.

We go to the movies, we buy the magazines...we, our society buy into the celeb craziness.

I had a friend that dated a Chicago White Sox player and when we went out it was frustrating to say the least, and he was not even a "big ticket" player. But he took it in stride and was gracious. But I can see how intrusive the public can be. I personally have seen a celeb a time or two and frankly was in awe, but left them alone.

Sorry, too much time on my hands these days, just needed to give my thoughts...:rolleyes1

I have absolutely not problem with Disney using the Cindy Suite for VIPs. Its their suite. It was nice of them to use it as a guest prize for a while, but now they are going to use it for a lot of things - VIPs appartently included. No problem with me
Fine, let VIP's stay there. But they shouldn't comp them at all. For ssomething that exclusive, make them pay through the ear. Generate some revenue and try and prevent some of the cutbacks they're annoncing.

Who cares if it was a $3000 outfit. Why is that a problem. should htey be ashamed becasue they can afford it. This is the USA and there are no limits in this nation about individual wealth. It seems you may be happier in a less freedom friendly nation?

As far as front of the line access there are reasons they do that. It is a safety issue and not just for the VIP's Imagine being caught in the crush of the crowd trying to mob forward to see/touch/talk too, the vip

Your responses sound like nothing more than jealousy. I am jealous too, not that they had this treatment but that I was at work this week and not in the MK
What ever happened to the price of celebrity?

You know what, you're right. I hope they had a magical time. I’m glad Disney could help the Cruise family out of the doldrums that is their everyday life by lavishing them with the sort of amenities that they're not accustomed to. And lord knows how seldom they get to vacation.

Yeah I agree..I can hear little Suri now.."mommy I dont like this dungeon, can we go home to to my palace?"

Yes they can, and more power to them! They work hard, they endure a lot of invasions of privacy, and they go through an incredible amount of scrutiny about their private lives. If someone started dissecting my home life, clothing choices, religion, etc. as they do those "ultra-rich celebrities", I'd want to get some sort of compensation for it too. If their compensation is that they get to stay in an expensive hotel or have special meet & greets with characters, then I think that's fair. I don't think any of us can sit here smugly and say that we wouldn't do the same if we had the funds. It's easy to not spend money when you don't have it. But if you had unlimited resources, my guess is that you wouldn't be here on the DIS chatting about how early to get in line for Fant! or what time to get up to make rope drop. You'd have purchased "the perfect trip" just like the Cruise's did.

As for the Castle Suite ... It WAS a fairy tale to be granted by winning it. For two years. Which was actually a year longer than WDW had first envisioned. Now it's not any more. Such is life.

Sooo, we don't know for sure if the Cruises stayed in the castle. And we have no clue as to who may have paid for this night, or even if old TC paid if they stayed at GF. But Flamethrower and others post here what Disney should do with their corporate property and how they should be compensated. And it will go on to well over 100 posts most likely, with all kinds of advice for a company that legally has nothing whatsoever to do with this web site. May I suggest you send what you think they should do to WDW and let them know your opinion. But I don't really care. I do know, though, that during TYOAMD Tim and Faith tried to buy a night and were turned down cold.

Good Graces! This thread has gone off track...

:confused3 It seems to happen quite often on here lately. Eventually, the threads get pulled back to the OP topic or shut down by the Moderators. :badpc:

 The DISboards is a great community board for like-minded Disney folks. Life outside the Disney park walls is hard enough without bringing every day pettiness to a friendly forum. I come to the DISboards for info and friendly Disney chat. :flower3:

Stick to the OP topic people. JMHO :goodvibes

Strong words for light topic.
Suri has had an extravagant wadrobe since she was a baby. I just find it funny after all of the "spills" I have encountered. I didn't question their "right" to their money, in fact I acknowledged it.
Again, this is an opinion board-comment on the topic not the members.
If they accomodate in other ways, then why not the castle, too. If I were there I'd peek through the windows to see the hunky Tom! I am happy with the accomodations for my trip next week-not jealous!

Okay fine I'm sorry to have posted off topic. But I was mainly responding to having found an old friend.

To put it back on topic it appears Suri did stay in the Castle Suite as is being told by an employee on the Keys To The Kingdoom Tour.
