Celebrity Vow Renewal At Walt Disney World…

Janet2k, Charytins wedding special will be on TeleFutura this Sunday (the 27th) at 7 p.m. ET

Annam26, I saw the TV commercial for Chayrtin’s vow renewal special. It will be aired here on the West Coast on Sunday night at 7 PM, too.

The commercial showed footage of the Wedding Pavilion, Illuminations (I couldn’t tell whether or not they had a full-blown dessert party), and the American Adventure Rotunda (bouquet toss, etc.).

I am really looking forward to watching the show. I'll try to rope my husband or son into watching it with me so they can translate it for me.

She was giving hints for quite a while, and had a date for the "BIG announcement" My mom was sure that it was the annoulment of Elin's previous marriage, but it was about her "wedding" at WDW. Let me tell you, it was WILDLY publicized.

Annam26, was this how Charytín made the official announcement: click here?

Edited To Add: I sometimes have to click on that link a few times before the video window opens up (sometimes another window opens up instead).

By the way, I read on the Internet that Charytín's birthday is tomorrow (May 23rd). However, I've read conflicting reports as to the year of her birth. No matter when she was born, she is a striking woman. Every time I look at her, I think of Marilyn Monroe. ;)

I’m on record here as not knowing very much Spanish. But I didn’t let that deter me from attempting to figure out what kind of Fairy Tale Weddings event Ms. Charytín Goyco and Mr. Elin Ortiz had. (I love a good challenge.)

I stumbled into some photos with captions this evening. I took those captions and ran them through a Spanish to English translator. The translations weren’t perfect; however, they were good enough for me to figure out a few things.

Here is one of the photos that I viewed: click here. And what follows is its Spanish caption and its English translation:

Spanish: Con las mágicas luces de los fuegos artificiales como fondo, Chary y Elín brindarán con sus invitados.

English: With the magic lights of the artificial fires as fund, Chary and Elín will offer with its guests.

“The magic lights of the artificial fires” obviously means the guests were going to see a fireworks show. Since the dinner reception was being held inside Epcot, that fireworks show would be IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

Here is another photo that I viewed: click here. And what follows is its Spanish caption and its English translation:

Spanish: Después de la boda, la presentadora escandalosa irá al castillo de la Cenicienta para compartir con sus 'fans'.

English: After the wedding, the presenter topsail will go al castle of the Ashen one to share with its 'fans'.

My earlier guess about there being some kind of a ”Meet and Greet” between Charytín and her fans seems to be correct. By the way, it only took me a moment to figure out who the “Ashen one” was. Who hangs out in the ashes? Why, Cinderella, of course. So, Charytín went to Cinderella Castle to meet her fans. And also have a few photos taken with the “Ashen one” and “El príncipe que Encanta” (Prince Charming).

I think out of all the photos that I viewed, the following photo’s caption was probably my favorite. Here is the photo: click here. And here is its Spanish caption and its English translation:

Spanish: La rubia favorita de Latinoamérica, Charytín Goyco, hará realidad su sueño de tener una boda de encanto.

English: The favorite blonde of Latin America, Charytín Goyco, will do reality its dream to have a wedding of charm.

I found that translation to simply be too cute for words. Charytín definitely seems like the “favorite blonde of Latin America,” and from what I've seen so far of her Fairy Tale Weddings event, she definitely had a “wedding of charm.” ;)

Hey, you can turn it into a family-educational evening. Learning and practicing another language. You know, A cultural event ;)

Yes, that was it, after weeks of "Something big is coming" Charytin is so emotional, tears up easily. But you can tell how much this meant to her.

By the way, I read on the Internet that Charytín's birthday is tomorrow (May 23rd). However, I've read conflicting reports as to the year of her birth. No matter when she was born, she is a striking woman. Every time I look at her, I think of Marilyn Monroe

Her age is a mistery. But that's common among Latin celebrities. Is not like "Entertainment Tonight" where they say the age of the stars on their birthday. I don't know if it is because American stars don't mind revealing their age, of if Latin stars can hide theirs more easily. Anyway, Chary could very well be in her mid-fifties. She looks great. I always thought the type of dress she wore looked good only in very young brides. But she wore her "Princess" gown beautifully.

Oh, and her "Marilyn" look? I sure it's purely intentional ;)

Great Job, Janet2k!

I really think that Charytin is the "favorite blonde of Latin America" She's seems very genuine, and I've never seen her speak ill of anyone. Recently her show was given an extra daily hour, so it must be highly rated.

Thank you for bringing all these great links, Janet2k. It's been so fun!

My question is, what kind of wedding was it? It looked religious to me.

Annam26, it definitely looked like a religious ceremony: click here. And what follows is that photo’s Spanish caption and English translation:

Spanish: Arrodillados frente al altar, la pareja se juró amor eterno como hace 32 años.
English: They knelt front al altar, the couple swore eternal love as 32 years ago.

And here is another ceremony photo: click here. And what follows is that photo’s Spanish caption and English translation:

Spanish: Muy atentos, Chary y Elín, oían cuando el sacerdote los proclamaba esposa y esposo.
English: Very attentive, Chary and Elín, oían when the priest proclaimed him wife and husband.

As you can see, the translation states "priest". Is that a correct translation for the word "sacerdote?"

Yes, "priest" means "Sacerdote". So he was a priest.... But she never mentioned an annulment. I don't understand.

Hey, you can turn it into a family-educational evening. Learning and practicing another language. You know, A cultural event ;)

As you can probably tell -- since I've resorted to a Spanish to English translator -- my husband and son are sick of me pestering them with translation questions. They've just about disowned me!

My son took Spanish in high school (he's in college now) and claims he doesn't know the language that well. However, I can tell he's got a dang good grasp of it.

As to my husband, his mother was born in Mexico. She pretty much only spoke Spanish to him as he was growing up. My husband was born here in the States and is like most American-born first generational children -- he doesn't want anything to do with the old country's language, only his country's language.

He also feels he doesn't enunciate the Spanish language properly and therefore rarely speaks it, even though he is fluent in it. It drives me crazy, but that is the way that he is (stubborn). However, I am considering picking the language back up. I enjoyed it when I took it in high school. And I can still quote some of my old high school Spanish (plus all the dirty words that I've picked up from my Hispanic friends here on the West Coast). ;)

Yes, that was it, after weeks of "Something big is coming" Charytin is so emotional, tears up easily. But you can tell how much this meant to her.

I saw how she teared up during her ceremony. It made me tear up, too.

Her age is a mistery. But that's common among Latin celebrities... Anyway, Chary could very well be in her mid-fifties.

Two of the birth years that I saw listed for her were 1949 and 1954. I was amazed. And I want to know what that woman's secret is for aging so beautifully. I am in my 40's and would kill to look half as good as she does. But from what I've read about her this week, she has always been a beautiful woman and has always kept herself in excellent shape.

I always thought the type of dress she wore looked good only in very young brides. But she wore her "Princess" gown beautifully.

She was a knockout in that gown. And what a tiny waist. Wow!

She's seems very genuine, and I've never seen her speak ill of anyone. Recently her show was given an extra daily hour, so it must be highly rated.

I love hearing that about a person. Thank you for telling me that. I'm so glad that she and her husband were chosen to be a part of Disney's "The Year of a Million Dreams" celebration. I'm sure they've done Disney proud.

Thank you for bringing all these great links, Janet2k. It's been so fun!

I agree. I love doing research, except that I seem to spend a vast majority of my time in all sorts of technical places (US Patent database, technical publications, etc.). I'm an engineer. And a big high-tech geek. But it's fun for me to break away from things of the brain and do things of the heart.

I have more things to share about Charytin & Elin's vow renewal, sit tight.

Yes, "priest" means "Sacerdote". So he was a priest.... But she never mentioned an annulment. I don't understand.

Annam26 , did Elin's first wife die? Or perhaps the annulment was kept quiet? Or maybe the photo’s caption was incorrect? Except that the photo was on the Univision/TeleFutura website and I would hope that it would be deadly accurate since the vow renewal was so highly-publicized.

Of course, since the vow renewal wasn't really a "wedding," it is possible that the church allowed a priest to officiate over it. After all, the couple has been married for over 32 years. Even the Catholic Church can’t argue with a successful marriage like that.

I just had another thought... If the Officiant was a priest, perhaps he is a dear family friend and did what he felt was right in his heart. And that was to perform a religious ceremony for two people who so obviously love each other.

I found a few photos of Charytín Goyco’s vow renewal invitations. I’ll share links to them here, along with the photos' captions in Spanish and their English translations. Please remember that the translations are far from perfect (they were done by computer).

Invitation Photo # 5: click here
English: After the wedding, there will be a reception in Epcot Center.

I think this photo barely scratches the surface regarding what an elaborate event this was for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings folks: click here.

That’s a lot of camera coverage for a simple bride...taking a simple ride...to her simple ceremony. ;)

I don’t know about you folks, but I’m pretty sure I see a Hidden Mickey anchoring the ribbon on the hand-tied bridal bouquet: click here and click here. ::MickeyMo

Please allow me to correct my prior post. I believe that would be either a "Mickey Escondido" or an "Escondido Mickey" (I forget the rules regarding word order in the Spanish language). ;)

If it is the same Roberto Rojas, my wedding planner gave me his number because I wanted a Spanish speaking officiant. He is not Catholic he is Lutheran. I also saw the wedding, I don't remember them giving communion which is part of the Catholic ceremony. Also, Elin's first wife is still alive, she is also in entertainment, her name is Iris Chacon.

If it is the same Roberto Rojas, my wedding planner gave me his number because I wanted a Spanish speaking officiant...

Thank you, Boo0105, for filling in more pieces of the puzzle. I wonder if it was the same Officiant? It sounds like it might have been.

When you watched the show on television a few weeks ago, did they show the entire ceremony or only a part of it? And if they showed only a part of it, what other things did they show? Ms. Goyco’s arrival in the carriage? The guests & wedding party singing after the ceremony? Please share anything that you can remember.

I wish I would have known the event was being televised because I would have watched it. Disney releases far too little information regarding the special events that may be planned in Walt Disney World (and in Disneyland, too). I’m always pleased whenever I stumble into something such as this vow renewal, since it gives me one more glimpse into a world that often doesn’t see the light of day.

For years I had been pestering Disney to put photos and videos of their events, venues, setups, etc., into an on-line database. That way guests who were planning an event could have a general idea regarding some of the things that were possible to plan. But over the past year or so, I have given up the cause. Perhaps it’s time for me to begin pestering them again.

Here’s a bit of the story that is laid out on the Univision / TeleFutura website regarding the vow renewal. Please note that most of the photos are "stock" Disney photos. And the Spanish to English translations were done by computer.

Suddenly, the very same one Mr. Elín, telephone way, proposed formally marriage to Charytín and she, with tears in the eyes, accepted. "I accept to share the life with you again", exclaimed.

From the Univision / TeleFutura website, it appears that Charytín wore two dresses to her Fairy Tale Weddings event. Both dresses were supposedly made by the Venezuelan designer Samy Gicherman: click here.

We’ve already seen the dress that Charytín wore to her ceremony: click here. But I’m not quite sure what she wore to her dinner reception. From the photos on the website, it looks like it might be this dress: click here. However, that photo might be from another event, I just can’t tell right now.
