Hi Folks! I am a Canadian and am new here to the board. I have been to Disneyworld in Florida about 20 times but only once in Disneyland California. Myself and daughter are coming to Disneyland Dec 14 this year and we were curious to know if anyone had seen or taken photos of any celebrities seeing they must come here with their children and families also. Thought this thread would be fun. Much Thanks Mike and Family from Windsor, Ontario, Canada ( PS) Things are tough up here also with jobs. Im laidoff as I speak

I've seen Jorge Garcia (Hurley from LOST) and Carlos Mencia. I didn't take photos of either- they are there to enjoy themselves, I don't want to interrupt that!

We saw Kathy Ireland (she was a famous supermodel -- now has some clothing and furniture lines) at Disneyland. She was with her kids and everyone was just leaving her alone. I didn't take any pics ~ but her "disguise" with those giant sun glasses didn't work ~ we could definately tell it was her :-)

My DBride and I were touring the Grand California lobby. She was waiting for the glass doors to close so she could take a photo --- when...who walks by - but Adam Sandler. He stopped...looked at her...and kinda made a face like - go ahead...take the picture...everyone else does. She smiled...put her camera down without taking a photo and wished him a great time with his family.

While waiting for valet to get our van at BWV in WDW in 05…receiving VIP treatment was…Paul Sorvino (current - The Sopranos…past – numerous tv and film appearances) and his daughter Mira, with her husband Chris Backus and child. This was too cool! I wanted to ask for an autograph or take a photo…but – just let this moment pass (hey – if I was in there shoes…I wouldn’t want anyone to ‘bug’ me on vacation…especially at WDW).

In October we saw Tony Hawk on Main Street as we were walking down as part of our tour. My DS12 was so excited - he wanted to bail on the tour and hang out near Tony Hawk :lmao: We did not go up to him either - I believe if you're there to enjoy your time with your family, people should respect that.

We saw Oprah in DL back in 05. It was when she took a class of school kids with her.

We saw Selma Blair, she rode SM twice while we were waiting for our kids to ride it once. :) We smiled at each other but no photos were taken. She looked relieved as well. The smile she gave was very thankful. :)

We just saw Travis Barker and his family last week (11/3)...They cut in front of us on Buzz Lightyear so I emailed their pictures home instead of my own (I was sure they would have been blocked but they weren't). We also saw one of the kids from Wizards of Waverly place who was very graciously taking pictures with lots and lots of tweens (but I didn't take his pic).

At the end of August, we saw Turk from Scrubs (Donald Faison) in DCA. He was with a tour guide. My son said, "Hey, Turk, I love the show," and Turk said, "Hey, man, thanks a lot," and shook my son's hand. He looked exactly like he does on the show, just minus the scrubs.

Last month, over Columbus Day weekend, we saw Mario Batali with his family, also in DCA. We did not get pictures of either celebrity.

On our after-hours tour, the Dream CM told us that celebrities are brought in the back way into the different attractions. He showed us the door they use to bring Tom Cruise in.

We've seen a bunch - seems like 1 every trip or two. If you want to see them, too, you need to do the following...

Keep your eyes out for the CMs in the red plaid vests. If you see one and it's obvious that they aren't leading a guided tour of paying customers wearing headsets, then you need to carefully look around them. If they are by themselves and waiting at the end of an attraction, hang out (very subtlely). Their celebrity will be off the ride shortly. If they are walking with a family, there is your cue.

I've been in the restroom with Brooke Shields, on the Metterhorn with Lance Armstrong & Cheryl Crow, DCA with Mario Lopez, Tommy LaSorda (at the Napa - he used to hang out there), Dennis Quaid and his famous twins on the teacups, and others that we can't place the names to the faces (because I'm just bad at that).

We're pretty jaded to the whole experience, as we live and work in a celebrity community, here in Burbank. I've been in airport security with Reese Witherspoon and her family, cut off on the road by Kate Hudson, passed and winked at by Dustin Hoffman on his motorcycle, and sat behind Thomas Hayden Church, Selma Blair, and other folks on planes. We see people at restaurants, the mall, the theater, at work. It's part of everyday life for us. That's why we never take photos. We were with out-of-state relatives when we saw Lance and Cheryl and did everything we could to keep the relatives from going (what's Kevin's phrase) carnival-ape crazy in front of them!

I'm adding "carnival ape crazy" to my list of one liners. Thanks.

Last year we saw Travis Barker and His family.. they looked like any other family..just there to have a happy day.

We don't take pics when we see celebrities.. or get autographs.. unless it's Mickey Mouse:rotfl:

We saw Michelle Kwan (the ice skater) during Christmas and Pamela Anderson with her kids and her short lived 3rd hubby last October. I DO have pics if anyone wants to see them. DH couldn't resist LOL. We also saw Ed Burns and his wife Christy Turlington in the OC airport. They were just hanging out waiting to get on a Southwest plane with their family and friends. They had been to DL with their family.

Everyone seemed to know who they were except us but I knew he looked familiar and especially when he talked I knew I knew him.

I also saw James Woods in Beverly Hills once while eating pizza at a pizza place. And we have seen several sports stars at various places but that's about it.

Very true. That's how we spotted Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond and Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin form Dancing with the Stars.

We have seen Casper Van Dien, another dude who played the dude who ate hamburgers in the prison football movie that was a remake of the original with burt reynolds, yeah I'm good with names and names of movies. . . :rotfl2: and both times had they not had a CM with them I would not have had a clue. . that plaid gives them away. One morning this entourage was whisked past us, we heard it was jennifer lopez and marc anthony. . . it was so windy that day I did not really get a good look. We always leave them alone . . the dude who i cannot think of his name, actually sat next to our table for quite some time, wasn't until the plaid sat with them that my husband noticed them.

I have always lived in a sort of celebrity-heavy area of Los Angeles - very close to CBS and Beverly Hills - so I have seen all sorts of famous people, from A-list to D-list actors and musicians, roaming around everywhere from Farmers Market to just walking down the street, to on Catalina Island!!! There are a lot of agencies around here, not to mention SAG and AFTRA right down the street, so they are everywhere. Also, Sunset Boulevard is a few streets up, so a lot of musicians can be spotted there. I couldn't even begin to name everyone I have seen in my lifetime. As Nancy said, I almost get used to it after a while. I mean, it is always kind of interesting to see someone famous - especially if I am a fan - but I don't follow them or take pictures. But at DLR? None! I swear, the most famous person I ever saw at DLR was the actor Paul Sorvino! That is it! Not Oprah, not Lance Armstrong, not Lindsay Lohan! Paul Sorvino! I also saw a well-known (in Southern California) local weatherman named Dallas Raines, AND I saw a lady whose title escapes me, but her name is Marilyn Grabowski and she worked for Playboy as maybe an editor or something (she resembles Joni Mitchell strongly!).

However, if this counts at all, I once WENT to DLR with a famous person, although he was not famous at the time we went to DLR. Do you know who Bret Michaels is (from the band Poison and from VH1's show, "Rock of Love")? I used to work for Poison back in the '80s, and just before their debut album came out, we went in a group of six people (three guys and three girls) to DLR, but Bret was the only one from the band who was with us. This was one of the years in the '80s where they were giving away Dream Machine prizes like pins or souvenir postcards or stuffed animals every day, so we each got something but I can't recall what Bret's prize was. I DID take pictures on that trip (with an ancient Kodak Disc camera, if anyone remembers those!), and one of my friends took pictures, although, for some reason, we didn't take a lot of Disneyland-specific photos with the guys in them (meaning ones where you can clearly tell where we are!). We got some on Autopia, and I snapped one or two fuzzy, distant shots of Bret when he and the guys jumped out of the vehicle on one of the dark rides (can't recall which one, but they were always doing mischievous things like that). We had a blast on POTC and IASW, too. Great fun! I bought Bret two skull and crossbones flags and a skull ring at Pieces of Eight, the shop right by POTC, and he used the ring in photo shoots, and the flags he used in a couple of the band's videos. Also, he was wearing a mesh tank top under some overalls, and when he let the suspenders down, a CM quickly rushed over and asked him to cover up!! Anyway, we had planned to go to DLR again, but their first album came out soon after and they became...famous. So you can imagine, trips to DLR were impossible to pull off after that for those of us who 'knew him when'!!!

You do get pretty immune after a while. And really, most of them just want a day alone so why bug them at DL? Everyone deserves time off. :) I've met a load of musicians and am hanging out with someone huge in the music industry this weekend and someone next weekend. These are both people I haven't met before so I'm very excited. I so ask for photos when we are hanging out but I'm not pushy about it, every one of them has been extremely gracious about it. :)

This was many many years ago, like maybe 1990ish. My mom took us on a family trip to DL. All day we saw lots of DL security (more than I have ever seen) and many executive types walking arround. People kept buzing about some big celebrity who was in the park but we never could find out who it was. Well, we were on Splash Mountain and after the ride was over and the boat was heading back to the loading area, we could hear a lot of screaming and could tell that "something" was happening. DL security, not the normal CM's, asked us to quickly get out of our ride boat and then we saw him, in all his weirdness....Michael Jackson and some female friend got on out boat and rode alone. We watched at the big drop and noticed that they sent a boat empty in front of him and after.

I was reading these and realized that I TOO had a celebrity sighting at DL. The year that my fiancee (Shyboy72) proposed to me (3 yrs ago) I had TERRIBLE food poisoning. On the last day of our trip I was VERY weak and he was pushing me in a wheelchair. This was pretty sad for his sake because we wanted to get some stuff done and have fun on our last day.

We got into the the park and went towards HM because I figured that would be the safest ride for me to go on because I was getting motion sickness just from standing up and sitting down. This proved to be a mistake because I completely forgot how there is paved stones in spots of the park. The bumpiness got me quite sick. When we had gotten close to HM there was this big bottleneck of traffic in front of Cafe Orleans. I definitely wasn't happy about that.

I saw all these people stopping and taking pictures when I noticed security by a woman. She had short hair and was yelling out for her friend to come over so they could take a picture together. It was Jamie Leigh Curtis. She was so rude because she stopped traffic and put her arm out in between people so she could get her friend across to where she was (in the middle of the walkway) so she could take pictures of herself.

Shyboy72 kept saying "excuse me, can you get out of the way please ?" to people who were stopping. Most people didn't care who she was and were even saying it as they were passing by. "Can you guys please move, we want to get on rides" and couple of people were saying "but its Jamie Leigh Curtis" and this guy said "who cares."

I think everyone was trying to get there last day of vacation in (it was a Sunday) before heading home.
