Hello all! We are booked at the Celebrity Resort Spa in Orlando beginning March 30. We have read so many terrible reviews about it on traveladvisor. I wanted to know if anyone here as stayed at this resort. We usually use Marriott properties through our timeshare exchange program, but this time everything else was completely booked. We are booked in a 3 bedroom unit. I know that the place is undergoing renovations- but does anyone know if most of the 3 bedrooms have all been renovated? I would hate to get an un-renovated room!!! This place has gotten such poor reviews that we've considered cancelling our vacation. Is it worth an 8 hour drive to FL to stay here? We're only doing Disney about 2 days out of the week, so we'll be spending plenty of time at the hotel/resort. How bad is it really????

We will be staying there in October- I am interested in knowing, too. DFIL and DMIL own a timeshare there, and say it was nice the last time they stayed (2 years ago, I think). We will be in a 2 bedroom unit.

It seems like the reviews are either total hate or total love- I don't quite understand that. Oh, well, it is a FREE stay for us- we'll just have to make the best of it if it turns out not too nice.

Hope you have a good experience :) - write a review when you return!!

We stayed last year first week of April, about the same time as you did. I was nervous after reading the reviews, however we needed a 3 bedroom unit and this was the only available.

Things that were nice about it - the pool was quiet and not overcrowded. We were in a unit behind the main building (if you can request this do so!) The second pool was half indoor/half outdoor and attached to a bar/grill. I would not have liked this side, its across the street and not as nice (in my opinion). The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Whe had an issue with our ac and staff came to address immediately. If you have kids they had activities going on at a third pool - we did not spend time down here, however the kids looked like they were having a blast. The units by that pool also looked updated. We spent most of our time at what I will call the 'main' pool near the lobby. The hotel is close to many restaurants, grocery, super Target and Walmart - so everything was handy.

Things that didn't impress me - the carpeting in our room was so dirty. I took the time to fill out a review so that they were aware. My DS was just beginning to walk and his feet were literally black! So were the socks I kept on his feet after. The parking lots were dark, not very well lit.

Overall it was a nice trip, yet I didn't leave there feeling I must return. We are returning to Orlando this coming May and plan to swap our timeshare at a Marriot.

Good Luck!
