Celebrations Magazine

As excited as I would be for a magazine of the sort, am I the only one that is kind of skeptical if this is real or just a scam? The reasons I'm skeptical is because I've never heard of this company, and the only payment choice is PayPal, and it's not officially affiliated with Disney. I think I'll wait it out to hear input once the magazine is actually out before I buy in. :confused3

It's Lou so no worries :thumbsup2

I couldn't find any info on Lou Mongello's website. If he was publishing, wouldn't there be something on his website?:confused3

He talks about the magazine often on his podcast....sounds like things are coming along really well and hopefully we will have our Disney fix soon :thumbsup2 I can't wait!

Great coincidence! I was just trying to find a good WDW magazine to subscribe to earlier today (recently subscribed to Laughing Place)

Just ordered this - thanks!

I ordered mine on August 17 and have not yet received it. I am going to e-mail them and see if they might be able to tell me when they will mail it. I will let everybody know if I get a response.

Since its the first issue, it will probably take them a while to get things going, but I can't wait either!

Exactly. I think Lou said on the podcast it looked like the end of the month to mail out but don't hold me to that.

This MAY be the funniest post I have read on the DIS:lmao:

You have protection with PayPal?? REALLY????

Yeah, what you have is PayPal calls vendor. Vendor says "sure I sent" PayPal tells you.... it's your problem.

The ONLY PARTY PayPal protects is PayPal. As long as PayPal gets thier cut they are HAPPY!:dance3:

Actually, I have had very good experiences with Paypal. On 3 separate occassions (over a 5 year period) I had purchased items through ebay which I never received. In all three instances I had paid using Paypal and Paypal refunded the money. And I am not taking about only small amounts. One of the transactions was for more than $500 dollars.

I just purchased my subscription a few days ago! I can't wait to get the first issue.

Looks like this could be a great magazine. But, I go through life as a skeptic. Based on what's been written here, I'm sure it's legit. I'll still wait to see the messages roll in with people receiving theirs before I subscribe though ;)

I e-mailed this morning and got a response this afternoon from Tim Foster. He wrote that they are trying their best to get the magazine out by the end of September but it might end up being early October before it is mailed.

I don't think anyone's got the first issue yet. They said it was coming out in September so it should be here soon! I can hardly wait. :thumbsup2

Glad I'm not the only one still waiting for my first issue! Can't wait!

I wrote an email to the magazine asking for an eta on the first issue and this is what they sent back to me:

Hi Tina!

We are trying our best for the end of September, though it may end up being early October...we have lots of goodies we're trying to cram in! But it will be arriving soon, I hope you enjoy it!

Take care and thanks for writing!

Guide to the Magic/Celebrations Magazine

So we may have to wait a little longer. That's okay though because it sounds like they are really working to do a great job on it!

Thanks for posting this email info you received. I subscribed a while back as well and my payment already went thru my account so I was starting to wonder about when I would receive my copy....good to hear it is in the works

I've seen a Disney collectors magazine.

Disney art, toys, pins, past historic collectibles...

Does anyone know what its called?
