Celebrations Galore & Free Dining too! A Sept 2012 PTR (TR started!)

ok, you're making me want to go out shopping looking at all of your post! :goodvibes

I love your black & white top. The onesies for Cole are just too cute! I bet he will look so adorable in the yellow one with the matching hat!!! :cutie:

Hey Meghan! I am in! Looks like you have a great trip planned and have picked up some really cute clothes. Yay! pixiedust:

Cute stuff! :thumbsup2 I just love shopping too!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I have loved shopping ever since I was a little girl. Too bad Madison didn't get that gene!

What are you waiting for....get shopping! :rotfl: I love that top too. Super comfy and it's not low cut. Too many tops are just too low for bending over and picking up a little guy. Cole wears his "surfer dude" hat all the time. I love it!

Thanks for joining! As you know, I love my Disney shopping!

Meghan! I am here...finally! I've been away from the boards except very limited. No Disney trip planned this year so it's been sad. But I don't care anymore, I need the boards to get my fix! So I am here!

Tony and Madison really want to go to MNSSHP again, so I have to change up our plans a little bit. I'd like to go too, but it's a very late night for our little guy.

I took Landon to MNSSHP when he was just 10 months. We stayed nearly until it closed and I probably did push him just to his limit. Only towards the end did he get fussy, and then he fell asleep. I don't know how Cole is but Landon can sleep ANYWHERE. He has fallen asleep on a Kilamanjaro Safari, on Spaceship Earth, multiple buses, on the benches at restaurants, etc. So I think that you just need to know your son and take his clues. If there is no way you think you would get your money's worth before he crashed, then don't. If he is adaptable and goes with the flow, can sleep various places, etc. I would say go for it!

Are you planning on returning to the room for naps? I have never done that with Landon and he always just sleeps when he is tired. It's good that you already have the stoller fan! I would also do something like bring a light colored towel to put under him since most strollers are dark and thus attract more heat.

Can't believe he is growing up so fast! I'm very excited for his first trip! :goodvibes

Our plane leaves Buffalo bright and early at 6:10am. We'll probably get to the airport around 4:30am or so. There is NO ONE there that early! We'll most likely grab some breakfast on our way to the airport or once we're there. Never traveled this early in the morning with a little one, so any advice is great!

My advice for this would be to just ease him awake, make sure he has a few things he needs to keep him happy, like a snack/bottle/whatever, but not to overstimulate him! Getting him up early could GREATLY work in your favor. If he is tired, he can just sleep the entire plane ride! One time, I think on our second trip, Landon was half tired/half excited by all the new sights and sounds of a plane. I kept telling him in a gentle voice to keep his eyes closed so he wouldn't keep looking around. I would watch closely and have him close them again if he tried to peek. It took maybe 10 minutes, but eventually he did keep his eyes closed for me and then couldn't fight off his tiredness any more! He slept (and I did too! ;) ) and when we woke up, we were starting to descend! It was great.

Can't wait for more updates!!

Joining in - and taking notes as I catch up!

1. We'll be down the same(ish) time! Sept 15-22 at Art of Animation!
2. I am SO glad you posted about the flights! Just tonight I was asking DH if there was a penalty or rule against flying down on one carrier and home on another... so glad to hear I can do this!
3. SO excited for MNSSHP, I think we're going to go twice!
4. I love when ADRs fall right into place! Makes for a magical start to a trip in the making!
5. LOVE all the goodies you've found on your shopping trips!
6. Day one looks GREAT!
7. Advice on flying with a little one: the liquids rule does not apply. Feel free to pack him applesauce, juice, milk, etc. for that early morning.
8. I love JCP's prices and quality for their girls clothes!

Can't wait to hear more as it evolves!

So glad to see you back on the boards! It is hard to be on here when you don't have a trip planned, so I understand.

That's right. I do remember you taking Landon to MNSSHP on his first trip. Cole will sleep anywhere, so we'll just have to see how he does. If he gets really out of hand, I'll just go back to the room with him while Tony & Maddie have fun together. They love dad/daughter time!

Are you planning on returning to the room for naps? I have never done that with Landon and he always just sleeps when he is tired. It's good that you already have the stoller fan! I would also do something like bring a light colored towel to put under him since most strollers are dark and thus attract more heat.

We all love going back to the room midday. Tony and Madison like to swim and I like to nap! We didn't go back to the room every single day on our last trip, but most days we did. I think I'll have to remember the towel tip. I'm thinking about bringing something like a shamwow (or other car towel) to the parks. I know he'll like to play in the splash areas (like the new Casey Jr area set to open in July) and I don't want him to be soaking wet in the stroller.

Can't believe he is growing up so fast! I'm very excited for his first trip! :goodvibes

I can't believe it either! Sometimes I can't even think about his reactions to things because it makes me tear up!

Thanks for the advice! We did buy him a seat and I plan on renting one of those CARES devices (5 point harness that slips over the back of the airplane seat) so it keeps him safe. I'm such a worry wart that I kept thinking about bad turbulance and him going flying while sitting on my lap. Yikes!

So glad to have you along for my PTR! I really love the look of AoA!! It's just gorgeous and I really want to stay there someday.

MNSSHP was awesome on our last trip!!! Best money we've ever spent at WDW.

I did read about the liquid rule when flying with little ones. I plan on bringing a few juice boxes (to help with ear popping) on the plane.

Good! I hope that you do end up doing MNSSHP!! It's so fun. You guys would have a blast...definitely a great idea to just see how Cole does and then maybe you leave early with him if you have to!

Only on my most recent trip did I go back to the room frequently, and I could totally see how nice it is. It's never beneficial for Landon napping though, because since he literally can sleep ANYWHERE, he would always fall asleep on the bus and then be wired and ready to go as soon as we were back in the room! :rotfl:

Also, the splash areas are the best! Can't wait to see him playing there. There is also a little area where water randomly squirts out of concrete in DTD...Landon had the BEST time there our most recent trips. Kids love water! Landon has never gotten soaked though, but it's a good idea to bring something just in case!

It'll be really nice for him to have his own seat. I never bought Landon any of the seats, but sometimes it was just too much having him on my lap...especially when they get to such wiggly ages!! You are a smart momma!! :goodvibes

We adored MNSSHP back in 2010. I just heard from a fellow TA that tickets go on sale tomorrow! Yay!

Oh no! That's always the worst when you want little ones to take a nap at your destination and they fall asleep in the car (or bus when at WDW).

I have seen that splash area at DTD. I think Cole will love it!

At almost 11 months old, he's already VERY wiggly!!! I can't imagine holding him on my lap for nearly 3 hours. He knows how to get out of my arms already. Not good on an airplane!

Hi everyone! I'm SO sorry I've been away for so long. It's been busy around here with lots of dance stuff, planning trips for clients, etc. Anyways.....I have also been busy shopping. :thumbsup2 I promise to do a Day 2 post soon, but I have just been shopping like crazy lately.

009-12.jpg

My new trip bag! I am totally in love with this color from Vera Bradley (Lime's Up) and yes, I already posted a picture of the matching notebook. It's so bright and colorful!!! I do plan on attaching a Lime Green Mickey Head (LGMH) to my bag to identify myself as a Diser, but I think it might blend in!

008-11.jpg

Bought these at Target. They have been tempting me for weeks; just sitting there on an endcap that I pass on every trip...I finally caved! Bought 2 Minnie and 2 Mickey.

002-25.jpg

More great Target finds for Cole

003-23.jpg

Another Target shirt...not sure if it will come to WDW or not

010-10.jpg

Bought these at Kohl's the other day; so cute!

004-21.jpg

Shirt for me from Old Navy...super comfy

005-19.jpg

More tanks from ON....one of these will probably make it to WDW with me

I have been told quite a few times lately by my wonderful DH that I need to cut down the spending. Oops! I will have to try my hardest because all of the cute summer clothes are really starting to come out everywhere. It's so hard!

Like I said above, the next post will definately be about our day 2 plans. However, I did buy our MNSSHP tickets the other day! We're officially going on.......I'm not telling yet! :goodvibes

I love your shopping posts! I like the striped tanks from ON - very cute! I saw those mickey & minnie bowls at Target too. I'm sure I'll end up buying them eventually!

Yay for MNSSHP! I'm waiting until after our cruise to buy our tickets.

Oh, I like the Lime's Up! Very fun!

The bowls are adorable. Do you remember how much they were by chance?

LOVE, love all the clothes!!! Super cute Meghan! :goodvibes

Thanks! I love shopping for Disney vacations. It's putting all the outfits together for each day that gets tricky.

I love all of the Mickey and Minnie stuff at Target right now. They're so cute!

I'm so excited about MNSSHP again. :goodvibes

I love the Lime's Up pattern. So bright and summery.

I believe the bowls were $2.99 each. They also have plates, water bottles, Mickey head chip & dip bowls....very cute

Thanks! I'm sure I'll find even more clothes this summer for our trip.

I'll be sure to head over right now!

Cute buys Meghan! I have some of the target Mickey plasticware. I bought 2 of the bigger cups and Brady loves them! He's always telling me that I have to drink from minnie and DH has to drink from mickey. We can't mix it up! ha!

I so badly need some summer clothes. I can't wait til I feel like shopping once the weather finally turns (for good!!!)!!!

I love your Limes Up bag!
The WDW t-shirts are Cole are very cute.
Target is always tempted me when I see Disney stuff out. It is hard to resist when you have a trip coming up! ;)
Congrats on purchasing you MNNSHP tickets. I can't wait to see what ya'll dress up as!

I was so tempted to just buy all of that Disney plasticware. I love the Pooh stuff too!

I hear ya on the weather thing. This up and down with the temps is making me nuts!

Thanks Amy!

I love all baby clothes, but when they are Disney baby clothes I definately cannot resist.

I have to really start thinking about our gear for MNSSHP. I don't want Cole to be too hot, so we might just do the matching tye dye shirts.

Sorry I haven't posted in ages. It's been a zoo around here! Anyways....on with the PTR! Here are the plans for Day 2:

Day 2/September 19th

We'll be heading to Epcot this morning....our favorite park! We'll get there for rope drop (of course) and head straight for Soarin'. We'll have to use Baby Swap for the first time. Have to read up more on this! We have an ADR at Cape May Cafe at 10:45am. We loved our walk to the Beach Club on our last trip and I'm looking forward to it again. We also loved our late breakfast at Cape May too and just had to go back. It's such a cute restaurant and the character interaction was great. Much more laid back than Chef Mickey's, but the food is just as wonderful. This will be Cole's first character meal!!! :goodvibes

After our late breakfast, we'll head back to Epcot and just play things by ear. We'll probably head back to our resort for a bit in the afternoon. The plan for that evening is to go to DHS. I know TSMM will be out of the question, but I'm hoping we can accomplish some stuff. I know Cole will love the Disney Junior show, but Madison wants no part of it. Oh well! That's part of being a family. Anyways...I'd love to go to the Animation Academy to draw some more characters!! We'll probably ride the GMR, maybe take turns with the single rider line for RNRC....again, just go with the flow. DHS is only open until 8pm, so maybe we'll go for a night time swim this evening. We'll have an early morning the next day!

I know what you mean, this time of year can get crazy!! :upsidedow I'll be so glad when school is out!

Great update. Looks like it will be an awesome day! We have learned to make breakfast ADR's between 10-11:00. I'm never hungry any earlier than that and if we go later then DH can still get all the breakfast food that he loves and we are all full until dinner!

I bet you will get lots of Soarin rides in before breakfast. :goodvibes And ending the day at DHS will be fun!
