I hate it when this happens -- I had narrowed my search down to Silver Lake or Vacation Village @ Parkway (and was stressing over this quite enough)..when I happened to see an opening at the Celebration World Resort. Their website is very nice and everything looks good there (same general areas as Silver Lake) but, I can't find many recent reviews on them.

How is this resort? We are not brining a pet so, that is not a factor -- our DD is allergic to cats so, we would want one of the "pet-free" buildings.

Other than that..how is everything there? Any reviews, thoughts, suggestions...??? Thanks!

We stayed there last Christmas and have plans to be there 14 days over this Christmas. We picked it because they allowed pets.

The resort is OK. Nothing special, no outstanding features but nothing lacking either. It was clean, staff was friendly, grounds were well kept and units well equipped. But there are 30 other Orlando resorts that could be said about.

We have never stayed at Silverlake but it too sounds pedestrian. We have stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway. Nice units there, again very little that would be considered "special". We actually liked the location of VV better - CW is a little off the main roads and, during peak times, getting around can be a slow process.

We wouldn't rave about it but we wouldn't discourage you from taking it either. It was OK and we are returning for what that is worth.

Thanks for that honest review...! I wish that I knew which one to go with. We have never stayed anywhere east of I-4 and, that is the reason we decided not to go with VV but, we might change on that. I just have to book sometime this week and I don't know which one to go with.

Okay --what about Westgate?? I have heard horror stories about the sales pitch, but, we don't have to commit to sit through anything. Would Westgate be a better alternative than anything else I've mentioned?

Anyone know?

1. First Choice - Vacation Village at Parkway
New Buildings - Very Nice - Great Location
Near Arabian Nights Dinner Show - Rt 192

2. Silver Lake
Depending on the size of unit
Check out Housekeeping Fees

3. Celebration World Resort - Pet Friendly
Don`t take any chances with DD cat allergies

** THANKS very much for the suggestions...! Okay..so, now I am again considering the Vacation Villages -- I am a bit concerned about the lock off unit. We have an 8 year old and I don't know if she is going to like being seperated from us like that. Is there a way to prop the door open to the adjoining suite????? Anyone know???

There was 2 door stops there every time I have gone so if your unit does not have one, I would ask. If you are just 3 people, a 2 bedroom at Silver Lake may be better...BUT we do love Vacation Village for our adult only trips with friends...

Thanks for the reply. I have been talking to my daughter and she is actually excited that she might have a living room and kitchen all to herself! ha ha ha At any rate, I am a little bit afraid of booking at Silver Lake. I know that our booking would be for the "regular" condos and not the Silver Points condos. I am afraid of getting one with all of those windows!!!! That is just waaay too cheesy for me!!!!

if your daughter is allergic to cats - don't even consider CWR.

I like it - it is a nice resort if you have a pet. that say no restuarant, no gym, no gift shop.

Silver Lake is fine. just make sure you don't need to pay the extra charges. some people have claimed at check in they refused and it was honored.

Vacation Villa loved the older building closer to the check in area. HATED the new building farther away. I don't like speed bumps - and this place has 6 between Arbian horses and the place I stayed (building 7). Well hate those things. So VV is now off my list.

plus the new units aren't as nice as the older ones.

NEVER go with Westgate there sales people will drive you crazy.
