Celebration Round Up and BBQ

Cool. By the way, got any pictures you would like to share from the BBQ? :wizard:

Hey, Dreams

Here are some of my top hits from the BBQ (don't ask why I didn't take pictures of the actual food -- one of my regrets):

This is what it looks like when you enter:

Here is where you check in:

Once you check in, somebody walks you by one of the characters. Here I am with Chip n' Dale (I posted this one because of the question asked about whether they are in Western wear):

Here's my friend and me at the table:

Here is part of the show featuring Bullseye. The guy dancing with Bullseye is the piano player who, I have to say, was quite good:

Here's Miss Chris, the Propreitress of Celebration Roundup and BBQ, as she congratulations on people on their celebrations:

Here's Jessie entertaining us at our table:

And, here's a picture of me and Woody:

Great posts Loren, thank you for sharing. My DD is 12 so my question would be would she get that celebration bag? Because I think she would like one too.....so unfair that 12 and under are considered adults, there is NO way my DD12 could eat enough food to cover that price.....

Thanks, Pixiewings...

My friend and I are both around 40 without kids, so we didn't get a celebration bag. I actually asked to see if I could get one to which they said I could purchase one for extra if I wanted one as those came with the kids meals. I didn't inquire how much extra that would be because I was slightly annoyed that I paid more for my meal and couldn't get one. I would hope they wouldn't charge you extra for somebody who's 12 years old...

its 9/99 i was gona get one but if this comes with it then why not we will go even tho the price seems steep. Id think your daughter could look 11 idk or just tell them shes 12 but would really like one an to be a kids meal idk i though kids meals were 15 before

Yeah, that doesn't seem fair that the kids get all the fun. I would want a celebration bag too if I paid that much! You would think they would have something for everyone, not just the kids since many people at DL are kids at heart. Did you see what was inside the bag? I don't know if it was already mentioned but if it was i missed it.

Just FYI, this meal IS all you can eat. They start you out with two ribs/pieces of chicken per person, but you are more than welcome to ask for more if you want it, including the side dishes. :thumbsup2

Hey, Lavender

I never got to see inside the bag, but I asked what was in it and they just said it was a fun kit with crayons and stuff. But, I wish I had asked to see what was in it. But, yeah, they should have stuff for the kids at heart. :)

That's good to know if I ever go back. Although, I have to say that there was enough food with what they gave me to fill me up. :)

Here's a picture of the goodie bag contents:

Now maybe as an adult I wouldn't care about the crayons or the cardboard ear hat, but man I totally want the canvas bag it comes in (yes, it's canvas!), the Mickey straw, the magnet board, and the Celebration Roundup cup! Totally not fair that adults get cut out of this, especially since the price is so much higher. C'mon, Disney. Would it be too much to ask for the adults to at least get the little bag? :wizard:

I had called Disney Dining before the BBQ had opened, not long before, to ask how long it was to be offered. I was told that it would be available throughout the year, weather permitting. I have my doubts though. I had been planning since last year to visit Dl now actually, but............ a hurricane of strife hit, instead and totally got in the way. So I am hoping that (Unless I am dead or in a coma) when I visit in Sept. (Have my ticket, at least) the BBQ will be available then. It will most definitely help to make up for having missed out going for my birthday today.

Simple, borrow a kid and tell them they get the dinner, goodies, and park admission just so you can have the bag, lol.:lmao:

Hey Gisele,
Was today your birthday? And you couldn't go to DLR? So sorry to hear that! Hope you had a Happy Birthday anyway! September will be here soon...

Thanks to all of you who posted info about this. I'm in agreement that for those prices, I think I'd rather do a regular Character Breakfast at Goofy's...Good to know it is all you can eat. I agree they should try to make the show part of it a little more exclusive.

I just read on the MP review:
The meal is served family style, and portioned to the size of your party. While the restaurant does not exactly advertise as an "all-you-care-to-eat" meal, passing servers may ask if your group needs anything else, or may even offer an additional serving of the side dishes. You can request an additional serving of the protein items as well, but don't expect your server to offer to bring another bucket of ribs.

So it sounds like if one is a big protein eater and avoids carbs it may be an issue. I wonder how long they'll take to bring out the additional individual servings of protein when/if requested? Hmmm...

Actually that quote means that for a table for 4 adults they will put out enough meat for 4 people. If someone pigs out on the meat then the other guests can ask the server for more food. The server will not bring out another bucket with enough meat for 4 people but will bring out one serving per person who asks fore more meat. Same for sides. Nobody is going to starve and there will not be melees over who gets the last rib or cupcake.

Awesome pictures of the BBQ. Just might have to inquire about purchasing a goody bag. But I do agree, "kids at heart" should get something.

Thanks DiznyGrl for posting that pic of the goody bag! I would totally wear that mickey ears hat while i was eating there! I think a lot of adults would have fun with the goody bag.

The food sound really good but at those prices I don't think we'll be heading over there. I wish it was just a BBQ with no characters. The characters cost too much to eat with.

Darn it I have PS for this on 4/15 it just doesn't seem that special :confused3
For the $. I have picky eaters that will not eat the beans coleslaw or cornbread.
I know I can't eat enough to make it worthwhile; tho I would try! :lmao:
I can't stand to waist $.
I think I am going to cancell my PS. I don't even have a kid ( well what DL calls a kid) to get that canvas bag :sad2: oh well.......

:laughing:Ya never know! A melee over a shortage of protein might be more funny/entertaining than the actual show!:scared::rotfl:
