Today was my birthday and we woke around 8am. The weather was perfect :thumbsup2

We were soon ready to head out for the 9am ADR at Cape May for breakfast. The food was good but the time we had to wait for the eggs cooked to order from the server was disappointing as I thought they would be cooked while you waited as they do at Boma. As it took so long I forgot to take a picture of them!

Anyway after this I had a nice little birthday cake and card :)

Not wanting to ruin the card we nipped back to the BWI before going to claim my birthday gift card. Then it was time to head off to Epcot on the boat.

I collected my birthday gift card at the International Gateway. It was quite a nice time to enter Epcot as WS was not yet fully open.

We then went to Mousegear for me to spend my gift card. I got quite a bit for my gift card and went over only by about $11.

It was then time to head back to the BWI as we had the couples massage booked for 3pm at the Saratoga Spa :teeth: We decided to walk back rather than getting the boat.

Feeling relaxed from the Spa we went and laid by the quiet pool at the BWI before getting ready to go out for dinner at Victoria and Albert’s. We were ready by about 7.30pm and got a cab to the Grand Floridian and then got a drink in Mitzner’s Lounge. I must say at this point we did feel a little over dressed!

Just before 9.15pm we were called into the restaurant to be seated. Once in Victoria and Albert’s we felt fine with the way we were dressed. It was then time to decide what we wanted to eat.

The food was wonderful and we both actually ordered the same throughout the menu! To start with we had the Amuse Bouche – this was very tasty and the quail egg with caviar was lovely.

Then it was time for Spiced Buffalo with apple-radish salad and curry.

Followed by the Yellow Edge Grouper with artchoke, fennel, leeks and jamon iberico.

Next we ate the Minnesota Elk Tenderloin over mustard and apple-wine kraut.

Then it was time for the main dish which was Pennsylvania lamb with kabocha squash and Italian chestnuts.

After this it was time for something to clear the palette and we chose the White chocolate gelato with tableside shavings and micro orchids.

Finally was dessert which was Tanzanian chocolate pyramid, Hawaiian Kona chocolate souffle and Peruvian chocolate ice cream and puff pastry.

We finally finished with a pot of tea! By the time we finished it was nearly midnight  Just before we left we were handed our personalised menus to keep along with a red rose for me and an orange and date loaf from the chef for my birthday. As we left we wandered through the Grand Floridian lobby and it was empty.

All that was left to do now was to get a cab back to the BWI after a very memorable birthday :)

It sounds like a brilliant Birthday - I am really enjoying your trip reports. Thank you. :)

What a spectacular birthday! And how nice of Disney to give you the place to yourselves. I looked at the photos a second time to be sure and still could only find a half dozen other people in the entire series. Unbelievable. Did you feel in charge?

What a lovely way to celebrate your birthday.

As always the Victoria and Albert menu sounds delicious.
