Hiya all!
I thought I would give you a bit of a pictorial of my birthday day....
I opened my eyes that morning and tore into my gifts sent to me from Florida by my goddaughter.
I got some lovely jewelry & sweaters, in which I did not take a picture of.
Then I opened my birthday cards and loved this fab one I rec'd from a friend of mine that i totally did not expect at all. I was SO surprised!
This is the collection with a special guest; I accidentily left out my aunt's..but imagine another one with "Niece" written across it
I decided not to have a frugal budget day, so I bought (gasp!) my breakfast AND (gasp! again) lunch from Starbucks on my way to work.
My birthday breakfast feast
The spinach wrap was delicious! I also tried the skinny cinnamon dolce latte and it was disguisting. Totally not worth it without the fat. LOL! The donut came from my co-worker.
My birthday lunch feast
The sandwich is chicken with cranberry sauce and it was delish as well as the pumpkin bread.
so, the actual day went quite well with a number of text, facebook friends giving me well wishes and a few calls.
This is also my father's 71st birthday as well.
Later that night, I went to babysit CJ and my sister got me these
For those of you wanting to know, CJ is doing better and is happy with all his activities. He is enrolled in an after-school program (we are thrilled!) with tae kwon do and he is builing his muscles and strength. He really enjoys it and I liked the master of the school alot.
He also has basketball league (not special ed!). His coaches and other parents are WONDERFUL! We could not be more thrilled and CJ loves it!. We also manged to secure a behaviorist, social skill classes and a therapist for him. So, he is a very busy boy. My social calendar is nearly as packed as his!
On this particular day, when I went to pick up CJ, we had a big meltdown. He didn't finish his homework and he knew he wold get it trouble. As soon as I walked in, it was danger zone. So, he throw a legendary fit. After he finished, we had to wait because I wasn't about to drive with him in a rage. So, we clamed and I drove to my sister's house. As a consequence, he did not go to his basketball game that night.
However, he did well during the night, because we gave him a choice to stop and think about what he was going to do next. Either deal with his consequence or he could have another fit and take on more consequences. I am very proud to say that he accepted our decision and was calm for the rest of the night. This is great progress as his fits are not as routine as it once was and he is finally understanding that these fits will get him nothing - and he holds in wat happens in his future.
All in all, not a bad day.
