Celebrating Our 2nd Anniversary at WDW!!- PTR Update 11/1/2010 with TR Link!!

Let me say: the Vera is very nice... BUT... last time I went i did the same thing... got a brand new beautiful hipster cross-body purse. I loved the crossbody style, but because it was a "material" purse, I had to put everything in baggies- money, camera, everything... becasue if you spill something on it...(NOT ON A VERA!) or get on a water ride, everything in it will get soaked ALL THE WAY THROUGH! So, for this trip, I got a purse that's like tent material... water-proof! You might want to think about it.

:goodvibes Just realized you guys will be down there about a week before DBF and I are there! I am getting excited about our trip reading over your plans so far!

if you chicken out for ToT, be aware you can do it up until the very last minute! I've never been on ToT and I never will (I'm terrified of drop rides, I chicken out every time. Actually make that flat out refuse). I do however, really enjoy the queue for this ride. Well at least the part where you are inside, so I usually wait with my boyfriend and when it's time to get on the elevator I kindly ask the CM if i could take the elevator that doesn't plummit 13 stories down! The middle elevator doors actually open to a regular old normal speed elevator and drops you right in the exit area. Also, judging from the reaction of the CMs, i would guess a lot of people do this!

But if your braver than me, more power to you! I guess technically i could say i've ridden tower of terror...technically haha

Maybe TOT?? It's one of the best rides in all of WDW. You gotta do it. Just once and if you hate it, never again, but just do it so you can say you did!

ToT is my favorite ride in all of WDW! The theming and decoration, the attention to detail, are absolutely out of this world. Seriously, I could take pictures all day long there. The actual drop part is not that bad - it's more fun than anything else. As long as you don't have an issue with motion sickness, which I'm guess you don't because you're planning on going on other coasters, you'll be fine!

Seriously, after I went on the first time, I was hooked for life. :goodvibes I actually asked the little girl next to me if it was scary or not, and she said it wasn't and that she'd been on it three times. I told her she was very brave. ;)

Meanwhile, I could personally do without Rockin Roller Coaster, but that's just me!

Your wedding pics are just gorgeous!!! :goodvibes

I can't wait to hear about Hoop De Doo.....we haven't been there yet! From what I've heard, it's a blast! :thumbsup2

So glad to hear that you're doing rope drop...You'll get so much more done in the MK! I would suggest hitting Space Mountain or Fantasyland 1st! Fantasyland often gets unbearably crowded in the afternoon and SM will have really long lines.....just a heads up ~ Peter Pan's Flight is pretty popular, so you may want to head there first once you get to Fantasyland!

You've got to be so excited...your trip will be here in no time!!! :woohoo:

Thanks so much! I'm really excited about the show it sounds like lots of fun. I'm really excited about rope drop. I'm pretty excited for Peter Pans flight so that probably will be our first stop in Fantasy land:goodvibes
Only 9 more days!!!

:thumbsup2 Splash Mountain - the adventures of Brie Rabbit is classic - and the idiotic Brie Bear & Brie Gator trying to catch him. It's a LOVELY 10 minute ride of pure Disney magic. I adore this ride! The flume is near the very end & really, it's not so bad. But again, I love coasters so not so bad in my book may be different in yours. But you should experience it once to see what you think. I'm glad you decided to give it a go!

We got wet ONLY when in the very front row. In the very back, you'd never know we were riding. But it does seem to be a hit or miss. To get drenched, you'll have to ride the kali river rapids over at the Animal Kingdom

If you have your heart set on DUMBO (& why not, it's a classic too) either ride it first on your second rope drop day at MK, or if only there one day, consider going first to Space Mtn, get a FP immediately, then if the park doesn't seem crowded, ride it. Otherwise, high tail over to Dumbo & ride it. I'm used to touring in summer when crowds are at their highest but when you're going after Labor Day, you may be pleasantly surprised with the crowds. Hard to say though since free dining attracts crowds too :confused3

Dumbo while enchanting, in its present state, is set up like a "carnival" ride in that only 24 people can ride at a time. So they load in, everyone is checked, ride is started, it stops, everyone exits....slow....slow....slow....THEN finally the next group of riders go. So the earlier in the day, the better. If you wait much past about an hour after opening, you'll find yourself in a long line for about a 2 minute ride

Aww, come on - tell em' it's your anniversary at Hoop De Doo. It's your special day, let them acknowledge you. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've never laughed so hard at G rated humor.

You can get refills on white or red wine, beer, tea, coffee or pop. Liquor is available for an extra charge.

The transporation board is a good place to ask questions about traveling from place to place in disney, whether using your own car or disney transporation. They WON'T let you in Hoop De Doo if you arrive late so keep that in mind however you travel over there. Our first time I thought it was confusing to find Pioneer Hall. It's closest to the boat dock that travels ultimately to the Magic Kingdom and furthest away from the entrance to the campground, I think it's called the outpost. Don't assume driving or riding a bus once you arrive at the campground you're close, you still have to make it back to pioneer hall!

If you're too early, there's a great porch around the corner with rocking chairs that are quite relaxing to sit on "fer a spell" :rotfl:

Wow didn’t know it was 10 minutes long. I’m sure I will scream like a little girl but I don’t think the drop will be too bad. I’m much more concerned about wet tennis shoes. We will try to sit in the back in our ponchos to avoid as much water as possible lol. People are going to look at us like were crazy because we obviously don’t want to get wet but are riding it anyways.

Although I would love to ride Kali River Rapids I know it will be a skip just because I hate getting wet.

If we don’t get to ride Dumbo I wont be hugely disappointed. I just think it would be fun since it’s a classic. There is no way I would wait too long to ride it so it sounds like our chances of riding it will be slim. There is always next time and I’m sure when we have kids I will have lots of opportunities to ride it

I better drink some whine if I gotta be the center of attention at Hoop De Doo…haha.

I have been looking at the transportation board quite a bit thanks for the heads up.:thumbsup2 It sounds like some of the places we want to go are going to take some extra planning if we plan to use Disney transportation. I’m trying to get it all figured out now so we don’t end up lost or unable to do the things we have planned.

I actually just dug through a huge tub that I keep all my bags in and found a Jansport crossbody that I "forgot" I had. (I may have told Brian I didnt have one so I could buy the Vera) When he seen me pull it out of the tub he laughed and said "Wow its the same exact size as the Vera and has the crossbody style you wanted, too bad you forgot you had it." I just laughed. I'm going to go ahead and pack this one as well. Since its so tiny it wont be a huge deal to pack it along. It is a backpack material so I dont think it will be much better being waterproof but it is pink so will go with other outfits  I may have to look into buying a more water proof bag in the future.

Yay! Yuor trip isnt too far off either:thumbsup2

Haha. I think I'm going to try to ride it. I just look back at the "Family Matters" episode when they rode it and I think it scarred me. I remember being little and thinking I will never ride that ride!!

It's nice to know that I have a plan B though. Thanks for the advice! I'm some what bullheaded though, if I have to wait in line all that time I better get to ride something

10 days!!!!!!!!!

WOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!party:

I know right!! Now 9! :cool1:

Maybe TOT?? It's one of the best rides in all of WDW. You gotta do it. Just once and if you hate it, never again, but just do it so you can say you did!

I know I'm such a chicken. I'm thinking the theming might be too good and freak me out :lmao: I'm not a thrill ride person. I jsut gotta keep telling myself that if I freak out I will have to admit it on my TR when I get back

Nope no motion sickness. I just hate the feeling of falling. :scared1: I absolutely hate heights. My favorites rides are indoor roller coaster because I don’t have the chance to freak out about what’s coming up :rotfl:

I'm often embarrassed when I see kids getting on rides I'm scared of. I was on a swinging ship with my niece and nephew last year (they were 3) and felt like I was having a heart attack but I couldn’t let them know. So instead screaming for the guy to let me off I had to sit there and smile and say how fun it was... By the time I got off my legs were shaking so bad I could barely stand lol.

I just saw your update now, I started school today, so I haven't had as much time to DIS as I'd like. :sad2:
Anyway, I love Wolfgang Puck express, it has a table service atmosphere, it's very nice. Good choice. :thumbsup2

I'm going to Target tomorrow to finish up our Breakfast/ Snack shopping. I will update with what I all decide to buy along with Day 6 plans!! :goodvibes

I feel like I have so much left to do and so little time to get it all done. Tomorrow I plan to go to the gym, shopping, and then come home and make some veggie soup (still have a bunch of tomatoes to use up from moms garden that she gave me before they go bad)

Friday my sister is coming in town. We will likely go out for dinner and then spend Saturday shopping before she heads home. Saturday night we are going to my other sisters home for a cookout. SMORES WITH REESES=YUM:rolleyes1

It's going to be a crazy weekend! Between all that I hope to post a few more days along with our must do/ must buy lists. I feel like I have so much left to tell you guys before we leave!!!

We rode Splash Mtn several time, I never got wet and I know my shoes didn't get soaked. I must have ducked or something on way down! :goodvibes

What a busy, fun weekend! You'll need to hit the gym for those Smores w/Reeses! Just kidding! I'm planning on going to the gym tomorrow morning too. I always say to myself, 'I just burned x amount of calories, I can eat a whole box of Cheez-its today! '

The only time I've ever gotten soaked on Splash was in the very beginning of the ride. If you're outside that tunnel when another log is coming down the drop, watch out! You will get drenched! If you make it through that, it's smooth sailing. :cool2:

I just came across your PTR and I have to join in. I've been laughing since the beginning, you totally remind me of myself. I'm such a clearance junkie, like I can't buy something if it isn't on sale...if I do, its a rare occurance. My sons father totally makes fun of me for it but hey, coupon clipping and clearance shopping saves us tons of money so what gives?? lol

As for traveling, I love to travel too! But I must have a schedule, or I feel lost:confused3 I think it has something to do with school, which has always kept me busy or on some kind of schedule. My sons father on the other hand is very much like your DH and would like to just be on a boat in some lake with no schedule, just playing on the water and relaxing.

I love that layered cake you made, its awesome! For a CS in MK, I would recommend Liberty Tree Tavern or Columbia Harbor House-both are REALLY good. Oh and if you can't get into your room right away, you can check your bags with the bell hop until the room is ready...head on over to MK and pick your luggage up when you get back. For wishes, I have sat just about anywhere and everywhere...but by far the best show I have ever seen was sitting directly in front of the castle on the street. Yes, it was gross sitting on the street but it topped all views I have ever had.

I love the bags on the walls, that legit made me laugh out loud.

For AK, I would definitely recommend Flame Tree but I heard it was closed right now (i hope its not true) I saw that you had a lot of fastpasses for that day and I wasn't sure if you knew, but you can only have one fastpass at a time. Like if you go get a FP for the Safari and your time to come back is at 10am, you can't get another FP until that time.

The best place to get CS in Epcot is The Land, they have a decent amount of food to chose from, and you can grab a FP for Soarin' while your there. I would also make a point to go on Living with the Land-its really cool and totally worth it! not to mention there is usually NO line, and if there is, it moves pretty fast.

Your plans seem pretty awesome, I think the two of you will have a blast!

Okay, first off - Smores made with Reese's??? GENIUS! I have never thought/heard of that. I have to try that SOON!

And second, you really do have to try Tower of Terror. It is my #1 favorite thrill ride at Disney! I'll pretty much get on anything (except water rides, I do NOT do those, at all) so I can't say much to console your fears. But I would hate for you to miss it. And when we went in May it didn't last long either. I actually wish we had ridden it again but it just never happened.

I know I sound like a broken record with the sweets recommendations, BUT...you must go in either Starring Rolls Bakery or the Writer's Stop in DHS. :woohoo: I tried the Butterfinger Cupcake in May and it was so good! HUGE and very rich, but good if you like butterfingers. My DH didn't want any and I only could get thru about 1/3 of it. That almost never happens with me and sweets. Also, I am definitely going to try the Carrot Cake Cookie at the Writer's Stop in December. Haven't had it before but all the pictures and posts I see about it sound/look amazing.

Totally agree with your dinner plans for your DHS day - Wolfgang Puck's or Earl of Sandwich. Haven't tried WPE but Earl is so good.

Next Friday for you! :yay: :cheer2: :woohoo:

I'm going to try to dodge everything...hopefully I'm as lucky as you.

I'm actually really excited for this weekend :goodvibes. For the last two months and until our trip I am only eating something sweet one day a week. I am a junk food junkie so this has been killer. I have been known to eat an entire container of Oreos in two days (true story several times lol) I was hoping this decision would make eating the treats at Disney more of a treat...make sense??? I know I'm going to be eating alot of bad stuff so this was my way to even it out.

With this change and a few more workouts a week I've lost 5 pounds and am feeling in the best shape I've ever been. Now I plan to ruin all my progress with 7 days of feasting at WDW. :rotfl2: It kinda stinks but I figure if I get back to this routine when I get home I will recover quickly. Hopefully all that walking evens things out, and I will have nothing to worry about :thumbsup2

I'm with everyone else with the s'mores with Reeses!!!!!! I hope you post pics!!! Seriously though! YUMMMM!!!! I think I just gained the 5 lbs. you just lost thinking about them!

I can't believe how close we are getting!!!!!!! :yay:

Well my sister just called me and said "What are you doing?" I said "Nothing" She said "Good I will be there in an hour and 15 min SURPRISE :woohoo: She loves surprising people haha

So that means I need to get this place in order before she gets here and I won't have time to get back on til later this weekend with replies or pics of all the goodies I bought today and of my Reese Smores :thumbsup2 (which I'm shocked you guys haven’t tried :scared1:) If you have a cookout you must try this...heck make a city smore if you have too!! I promise it will be worth it! :) I also like putting peanut butter on my smores instead of chocolate...it tastes like a warm peanut butter cookie....YUM I'm not a fan of Hershey’s chocolate so I have tried just about everything on smores lol.

If I don’t get a chance to get on here have a good weekend!!!!

I'm starving again......popcorn::

Have a great time with your sister!!! How fun that she is surprising you!!! Enjoy every minute, we'll be here when you get back!!

TSM is always buzy so going at rope drop is definately a good plan :thumbsup2 But make sure you're early for rope drop. Our experience at DHS in August they actually let you through the turnstyles earlier than park opening & then held you for the rope drop at the end of the street at official opening time. I wrote about it in my TR under the links called, "Dad comes through BIG" & "DHS: The solo tour" if you want to look at it (again?)

I'm going to suggest you FP the attraction & then ride it. That way you'll be able to ride it again.

If you don't care about riding it twice & skip getting TSM fast passes, then before you ride ToT, get FP's for RnRC. If you are there for rope drop the return time shouldn't be too long allowing you to take advantage of your FP reasonably early.

If you decide to FP TSM, ride & then head over to ToT & RnRC, me I would probably ride RnRC before ToT. ALthough ToT is quite popular, I think RnRC tends to get a longer line before ToT. JMO.

Next door to the Brown Derby, Starring Rolls is a nice little counter service where you can use a snack credit to get a YUMMY dessert or pastry for bfast after you ride your top 3's. Great place to wait for a FP return time as well.

Enjoy the Sci Fi diner, I think it's so much fun to eat there. Their vanilla milkshakes with a shot of kalua in it are awesome!

Hi Amanda,
I've found your PTR from brookelizabeth's. I'm so excited for you!!! Your first trip EVER! I can already tell, you and DH will be completely hooked! I cannot wait for the TR that I'm sure will be coming soon after.:goodvibes
I love that you are a coupon clipper, I try my best but could be a lot better! There is a thread on the budget boards for cupon sharing, you should try to get into that one!
