Celebrating 9 days with my 4 kids(7,6,4,2)May 2009, I know I'm late starting this TR

And for another reason, my sweet DH is from the hillbilly hills of TN.

I was going to stay in lurkdom, but I had to come out to laugh. We're from the hillbilly hills too! I totally know what you mean by Mater, I think I'm related to him. :rolleyes1

Great tr! I've loved reading it.

Great pictures, great stories. I am SO excited!

I am getting myself really psyched up. We are getting really close to the 2 month mark! :cool1:

I am somehow trying to do a "give a day" volunteer project with my daughter without her realizing we are going to Disney.:rolleyes1 Will she ever be this trusting again?

We are making Haiti Care Kits. We are going to take the special fast passes instead of the free tickets since we already have multi-day tickets.

Julie

Another great update! I'm so glad everyone finally got to see the Red Power Ranger. It's so sweet to see your boys with McQueen and Mater. My DS was really into Cars a few years ago and loved seeing them. He had to go all around them and inspect every part. That was back when they would come out onto the streets and didn't have their own meeting area. Now Cars have given way to Star Wars so he didn't even want to stop and see Mater and McQueen last year. It made me kind of sad. Okay, I'll stop rambling now, LOL.

I used to love that show Mighty Mouse!!:worship:

I knew you would like the hillbilly hills.

Well, post a few pics of POFQ food. I feel like I need a food update since I didn't have any pictures that day. :)

Okay, here's some food from POFQ Food Court!

Desserts first...

:rotfl2: Your updates always make me laugh. I was delighted that you all got to meet the red ranger :thumbsup2 My DS was really into the power rangers a few years ago but he too is more of a stars wars guy now. DD1 was delighted to meet the pink ranger last trip and she was full of all sorts of wonderful moves during the line and whilst meeting her :rotfl:

Love the pics from POR food court we are staying at this resort this trip so its nice to read about POR and see pictures.

Aww, your family is so super cute! I must say that your oldest looks like dad, and the youngest looks just like you!!

I am glad you like the picture of screaming Donald. I am sure you remember those days.

So you have four kids as well. It is amazing to me how fast a family can multiply. You already have 2 grandkids!! Just think how many you will have 10 years from now! You have a lovely family, and I think your son, Lee, looks just like you.

You didn't post me a picture. That's ok, I have already seen you and your handsome hubby in previous pics. Thank goodness you already posted me some or I would be mad.;)

You still have to show me some pics of the different parks. Have you ever seen a TR for Disneyland Paris, or Hong Kong Disney? I would love to see them. If you do get to go back to Disneyland Paris, then you better do a TR.

I am glad you thought I asked nicely. I thought I was quite demanding and intimidating.:rotfl: It is amazing how much kids looks can change in just a year! Your DD is still beautiful even without that much hair. Your whole family is beautiful. I love the pic of your DH and Minnie. I guess she just had a crush on your DH!

OK, I must admit. When I saw that picture of your dd2, it gave me baby fever. I just wanted to reach in the screen and give her a squeeze. I also love the picture of your beautiful family. Your DS is hilarious with his hang ten hand pose. I can't tell who your kids look like more because your DH looks incognito with his hat and sunglasses. I will definitely say they look like you with their blond hair. Soooooo cute! I love your hair style.

Oh my goodness. First I must say that your family is soooooo gorgeous!! You are gonna have to beat the boys off of your girls, good thing your DH looks intimidating with the bald head and all. :thumbsup2 People always tell me my husband has a nice head, and it always cracks me up for some reason. I have people say he looks intimidating because of it, and he is the exact opposite. He is probably the nicest person anyone could ever meet. He has a lot of patience, because he hardly ever yells. He is completely hands on as well. The first thing he does when he gets home from work is ask me what I need help with and then he either starts helping me with dinner or playing with the kids.

I love the picture of your DH with your DS. You can tell he loves having a little mini me. DS is too cute. I also love that picture of you with your older two girls in front of the castle. BEAUTIFUL! Actually I love all the pics. They are all very good!

Now, I am dying to know what game show you were on. You must tell me more, and you must do a TR. Your trip is just around the corner!!! Man, I am demanding!:p

Thanks and ditto! Your family is beautiful as well....your one lucky MOM!
I'm always taking pics of them. I could definitely moonlight as paparazzi. By the end of the vacation, i always get the eye roll when i pull out the camera....hahahaha...too bad!

I was on a gameshow called The Moment of Truth. It was only on for one season. It was the one with the polygraph and stunned faces during the promo's. Luckily our episode was more on the sweet side (some of the contestants were nutz!). I was determined to get rid of some debt and it seemed like the quickest way to do it. Besides, my husband always said I had a have a hard time keeping what I think to myself - no deep dark secrets here....!

Well, I have been trying for a long time tonight to figure out how to get my photos onto a photosharing account so that I can post a picture of the family but my computer keep blocking the upload...urghhh! I will keep trying.

In the meantime, I am enjoying your trip report and all the funny comments. Hope you don't mind a few questions. What is the "stay, play, dine free for kids" deal you mentioned? Wonder if that is available now. Also, did you like purchasing a touring plan? I have not yet and am wondering if I should. We are traveling the same week as you but this May.

Thanks. Looking forward to more updates!

I am sorry you are having a hard time uploading photos. I use photobucket, and to be honest that is what has taken me so long to do this TR. I didn't want to have to wait for all those pictures to upload. Hopefully you can post a picture soon!

The kids Stay, Play , and Dine for free was a pin code that I received by email. They offered it to me right about this time last year, and it was good until May 1st. I just had to have the first day of my vacation booked by the 1st and it would cover the whole week. I didn't have to pay for my kids tickets, or their dining plan, and of course they were free at the hotel because you don't have to pay extra for kids there anyways. You can call and ask them about the deal. When I called to book my vacation, I was asking the guy a lot of questions. When I mentioned the play, stay, and dine for free deal, he said that he was glad I brought it up. He said they can't tell us about deals on the phone, but if we bring it up to them that they can talk about it. It's worth a try to call and ask about it. They may send you a pin code.

I think I spent $17.00 for Tour Guide Mike. It is an online informative site. He looks at the calendar and tells you which days to do which parks if you want to avoid the crowds. He also gives his suggested touring plan because he is a tour guide and gets paid a lot of money to take people around Disney in the most time efficient plan. I found his site to be confusing at first to navigate, but it was worth it to find out how to tour each park. He gave a lot of great tips. He also had reviews of restaurants and rides on his site. I learned a lot from it. You can probably figure out a lot of the touring plans by reading my TR.;) I was glad I purchased it.

Great update! Too bad You didn't get to se Beauty and the Beast, it really is a great show, did you get to see it another day? I missed it on our last trip but I am determined to see it when we go in May.

I don't know how much they are paid but I believe they really do go, there is usually a parade. The guy this year, (Brees?) Was there I think it was Monday and there are youtube videos of it..

I never did make it to Beauty and the Beast. Hopefully I will make it next time.

Thanks for the idea of checking youtube for the videos. I saw them in the Disney parade. What would we do without youtube? My problem is that when I get on youtube to look at one video on end up on there for hours because then I just keep clicking on more and more.

I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your trip report and the pics of your adorable family. I hope my boys are as good as yours about visiting the princesses as Mummy wants to meet them all.

My big boys loved the pictures of your children and Rockhopper from Club Penguin.

Here is a pic of my three boys.

DSC_7251.jpg

I am suspecting that your kids play on Club Penguin as well since you know red penguins secret agent name, Rockhopper. You are one very cool mom.:cool1:

I can't believe my boys didn't complain about all the Princess pictures they had to stand in. I kept teasing them afterwards that the Princesses thought they were handsome princes.

Your boys sure are cuties, and they all look alike. I don't know where you all were in that picture, but it is beautiful.

Great Update!!
Thanks for you compliments about our family. The girls are 5 and 3 now. We went to Disney December 08. We are hoping to go next summer with DH's whole family!

Laura

Don't you just hate the waiting process. I want to go NOW! but I will have to wait right there with you! Your girls are going to be the perfect ages when you go back. :goodvibes

They need a surf web smiley who is laughing...because while I am doing this :surfweb: I am also doing this :lmao:

I do have to admit that I am not a Power Rangers fan. I just don't know much about them. I'm sure if I ever have boys then I will have to learn. However, the pictures of your boys with the Power Rangers were SOOOO cute!

I am glad you that you do this :lmao: while doing this:surfweb:. That probably means that you can relate to some of my drama! I knew I was not alone. :rotfl:

Yes, If you have boys you will come to know the power rangers. All though, you may not want too. I am just letting you know, once your kids find out who the power rangers are, there is a lot more destruction in the house. All of the sudden the kids are practicing those cool moves on every piece of furniture and every sibling in their way.

I was going to stay in lurkdom, but I had to come out to laugh. We're from the hillbilly hills too! I totally know what you mean by Mater, I think I'm related to him.

Great tr! I've loved reading it.

I am glad my hillbilliness is strong enough to bring you out of lurkdom! What part of TN are you from. My DH is from a small town called Speedwell. It is where TN, KY, and Virginia all come together. It is beautiful.

Your family is beautiful, and your kids look just like you. Your DD especially is like your spittin image.:)

Thanks for reading and joining in.

Wow! Your trip is getting close. I can't believe you haven't let anything slip yet. You are good. That is awesome that you are making Haiti Care Kits. You are totally awesome at keeping a surprise. You need to add that volunteer project to your PTR!! :goodvibes

I am serious, you better take pictures or video when you tell her you are going and post it! That's a threat in case you couldn't tell.

That darn Star Wars. I know the feeling. :sad2: I will say that my DS6 is excited about the Toy Story legos coming out right now. That makes me feel a little better about him growing up so fast. The fact that he is putting aside the star wars legos for the Toy Story ones makes me see that he is still young. Plus, I love Toy Story.

I am glad you find me funny. Now I feel like I am going to have to keep living up to myself.

Star Wars is just too awesome. It seems to take over every little boy when they get to a certain age. Maybe they could put some of the Star Wars characters in the power ranger outfits and there could be some sort of a compromise.:scared1:

I am so practicing up my power ranger moves for our next trip. People will be walking past the pink ranger to come get my autograph. ::yes::

Thanks and ditto! Your family is beautiful as well....your one lucky MOM!

Girl, You are brave! I had forgotten all about that show. I never did watch it, but I do remember the commercials. How far did you make it on the show? I felt so bad for some of those contestants. I read about one in people magazine.

I know what you mean about the paparazzi thing.:lmao: That is so funny. My kids are all the time taking my pictures at the worst moments trying to get back at me. I will even admit that one of my kids happened to get me on the toilet. Thank goodness for digital cameras and the delete button!! I just wonder now how long that picture was on my camera before I noticed it. Hopefully nobody else had found it first.

All caught up again! :thumbsup2 Yay for being able to squeeze in a ride on RNRC!!!

Denise

RNRC was awesome. I was so glad my DH let me go over and ride it. He just sat with the kids right at the exit the whole time and waited. Of course I had a guilt trip when I offered for him to go and he declined because the kids were so worn out. Oh well. I got over it in a few seconds.

We won $100,000.....I was determined!!! hahaha. Anything for Disney!

So I am standing over my kids blowing a whistle in their ears and yelling, "Get your butt's out of bed kids, It's time to go to Magic Kingdom. Today is Commando day"

Yeah right. Like I would ever purposefully get up before my kids. I don't get up until I get hit in the face or something by one of my kids. Well, this morning I did wake up before my kids at about 6:00. I guess I was too excited about our day at Magic Kingdom.(either that or self conciously I was afraid of getting head butt by DD again) I had my plans for this day laid out in my head for a long time. This was the one schedule I had memorized, the one that I wouldn't have to keep pulling up my notes on my Iphone for. I knew what order we were going to do all the rides, when I was going to run and get FP's, where we were going to eat, I even knew what we were all going to be eating and when. I had our break for the middle of the day planned so that we could go back in the evening and stay until closing. THIS WAS THE DAY!! So I got ready, and got everyone else up and ready, and we were out the door in record time. We were first to the bus stop. After dragging our lazy strollers onto the bus we were on our way. Now, I am going to take a minute to show you how we did Disney World last year. We paid for a double stroller for the week and pushed our kids around like this.

IMG_1378.jpg

It worked out great, and we probably would have done that again this year except we noticed something. THEY CHANGED THE STROLLERS! The newer strollers definitely looked a lot smaller, especially the front area where the feet go. We knew we would not be able to push the kids around like that again.:sad2: I will admit. We would almost rather pay the huge overpriced amount of money to rent the stroller there, just so we wouldn't have to take the strollers we brought off and on the bus. Also, those strollers you rent at Disney are so easy to push. I am being serious when I say that you can push them and turn them with one finger. Plus you can run with them and run over people with them. Just kidding, I have never run over anybody with my stroller. At least not on purpose.:rolleyes1 Ok, now that I am done writing my book on the strollers, I promise never to mention them again in this TR.

So we got to Disney and lugged our Strollers;) and our kids to the front entrance of the park. Actually the kids were jumping up and down with excitement. They were so excited!!There were not that many people when we got there.

When I see pictures like this I wonder how many people have pictures of me that I don't know about. This picture was taken at exactly 8:30.
campingandDisney2009633.jpg

Soon after people came piling in and before you know it, it was time for this

campingandDisney2009635.jpg

"Good Morning. Good Morning."

campingandDisney2009634.jpg

campingandDisney2009636.jpg

Then it was time to enter the park. Thank Goodness we were sort of at the beginning of the mad rush. I was about to have a nervous breakdown. My heart was pounding and my head was screaming "DUMBO, DUMBO, DUMBO" I bypassed all the photographers even as my little ones were screaming, "look mom there's Minnie. Over there Mom, it's Chip and Dale. I see Pluto." I was thinking "I know kids, keep moving, we are in commando mode right now. Do not be sidetracked by all the distractions set to get you when you enter the park. We will see them later, today is rides, rides, rides!" Then I yelled as I walked through the park, " Watch out for your heels people, I am coming through!" OK, So I didn't actually yell that, and I do want it stated that for the record I did not run over anyones heels this whole trip!!

We made it to the rope at the castle and waited a few minutes for someone to come drop the rope. I also want you all to know that there are line skippers out there. I am shocked, tsk, tsk, tsk people. There were a few people jumping over the rope and running to Dumbo. I am not kidding. Seriously, one woman was sprinting. She was so fast I hardly even saw her. Oh well. So who do you think came and dropped the rope? It was the one and only, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. They were so funny. Too bad sprinter woman, you missed it!

DH and I were in the front of the masses when the rope dropped so we parked the strollers as fast as we could and pulled our kids eagerly behind us as we made it into the line for Dumbo. I honestly had a lot of fun doing the rope drop thing and getting to Dumbo quickly. We were probably about family number eight in line for Dumbo, but we made it on the first ride. :woohoo:

DH took this one of us
213.jpg

I took this one of DH and his elephant
campingandDisney2009638.jpg

Then I just started snapping pictures of everything from Dumbo's perspective
campingandDisney2009642.jpg

campingandDisney2009643.jpg

campingandDisney2009639.jpg

214.jpg

Wow! That Dumbo is such a thrill ride. I love it, but I can not believe how long the line takes if you don't get there first thing. I am not kidding, when we got off the Dumbo ride, the line was already at 20 minutes wait. The line always looks short, but takes so long because it takes so long to get people off and on that thing. I was glad we got there early! So next we went running off to Winnie the Pooh. I have never seen Winnie the Pooh or Peter Pan without at least a 45 minute wait. Thank goodness it was early because we got on in 5 minutes!!:woohoo:

campingandDisney2009644.jpg

campingandDisney2009645.jpg

I love this one
campingandDisney2009646.jpg

this is who Donald(DS4) saw
campingandDisney2009647.jpg

campingandDisney2009649.jpg

That is such a cute ride. I love the part where it is raining and you feel like you are going up and down in water. Anyone know where we went next? You guessed it.......Peter Pan!! Out of all the rides in Fantasyland this is my absolute favorite. The only problem is that it is so dark that I can not get any pictures. This is a must do if you have not been to Disney. Do it early though or else it will have a wait. Again, we only waited about 5 minutes to get on it. From now on, I am always doing rope drop. :thumbsup2

After Peter Pan it was time for Snow White. Now, Lego(DS6) did not like this one last year because he thought it was scary, but I was bound and determined to go on all the fantasyland rides so he rode it with me. I must admit that the evil Queen is pretty scary!

This one had absolutely no line when we got up to it.
campingandDisney2009650.jpg

campingandDisney2009653.jpg

campingandDisney2009651.jpg

What a handsome prince.
campingandDisney2009652.jpg

campingandDisney2009654.jpg

Now, we hadn't had to wait in any lines thus far, but people were starting to file in to the park. So by the time we got to Cinderella's Carousel, the wait was about 15 minutes.

Here is Princess(DD2) on her favorite ride. She had gotten a little sunburn from our previous days.
campingandDisney2009669.jpg

campingandDisney2009664.jpg

campingandDisney2009661.jpg

campingandDisney2009662.jpg

campingandDisney2009668.jpg

I had asked DH not to get on the phone this day since we were on vacation and all. So what is that I see? A little texting going on? Is that someone from the office? I believe it is and this is proof of DH not being able to seperate himself from his work. This is also proof that he still uses a sippy cup. I don't know where in the world that thing came from. He must have had it through all these rides because we walked around and didn't go back to the stroller until after IASW. :confused3

campingandDisney2009666.jpg

So we all loved the Carousel, but now it was time to move on to IASW. We got there and the wait was 10 minutes.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Princess when she rode it for her first time in May 2008.

this one wasn't on the ride of course, but was cute so I thought I would include it.

And here was my sweet Princess this past year on IASW 2009

She still loved it just as much. It was now about 10:15. We got a lot done in the first hour and fifteen minutes of the day. So now it was time for us to head over to Toontown.

I will have to stop here because there is about 3 inches of snow here in GA. and my kids are dying to go out and play in it. It's been so long since I have seen snow that I don't know what to do first!!:yay:

Great update! I love the MK. That's my favorite park. We have taken weekend trips and only go to MK. :thumbsup2

Did you say GA? Hi Neighbor!! lol. Oh, it's a lot of snow here in Atlanta. I'm loving it!!!!!!

Great update:thumbsup2
I must say that I am glad you are getting the snow and not us!! We have had about 33 inches and I am so done with it. Our kids have only been to school 3 days in Feb and 2 of those were 2 hour delay days! We have had 8 bouts of snow since the week before Christmas.
Anyway, love the update on the MK. It is my favorite park by far. I grew up in FL and we used to go to the MK all the time. Of course it was the only park then, but oh how I love it. :cloud9: Cant wait to hear more:lovestruc

Another great update! i'm going to be seriously disappointed when your TR ends so take your time!

Glad you guys are getting the snow this time. Here in NJ we've had enough! Will spring:scared1: ever get here?????

I'm with "The V Gang" your updates will be missed when you are finished :sad1: You'll need to get started with a PTR :)

MK update brill :rotfl: We just love MK it was the very first disney park we visited and it was  at first sight (chessy I know!)

The pics from dumbo are really good having never rode it I thought it went around pretty quickly but doesn't look like that from your pics. I know that is hard to believe being a mum but I don't really like heights and rides that go around and around makes me feel yuk. Anyway it will be on our def to do's this trip :thumbsup2

Princess looks really bonny in her picuture on IASW from your last visit.

Just stumbled upon your TR~ Great TR!!! your family is precious, your kids are absolutely adorable.... brought back alot of memories for me, our first family trip was in 08 at POR.......... loved that resort, but now we have added 2 more to our family so we have to do 2 rooms most likely at a value, but I love POP so that is ok, but like the pools better at the moderates etc.

looks like you had an amazing time with soo many great experiences.... what part of GA are you in?? we are NW of ATL and had soo much snow this weekend!! the kids loved it.
Your TR is awesome :)

Wow! I had not realized you started a TR. I found it a few days ago and have been reading on and off ever since. It sounds liek a wonderful trip so far.
I laugh at your words about mullet woman. Yesterday going trhough the Wendy's drive thru, my 17YO Paige saw a lady walking her child to her car and she didn't have a mullet, but she had an early 80's late 70's do....something we used to call the burn out look, where most of the hair is long and striaght with a little fluff right on top. Paige says "look at her! She's business in the front and party in the back". I started laughing, and I said really it looks like all her partying is going on on the top of her head. LOL!
I love the birthday surprise you left in the room too. I may have to ask you more about it. I am trying to get DH to go in Dec for Claires' 6th birthday, and that would something that would totally make her day.

Here's a picture of my family last March.

Aw I love the Magic Kingdom. I can't wait! You guys did manage to get a lot done in just a little time. We will have to do it a little differently though since I want to be at rope drop for Pixie Hollow by 9:45. Did you guys do Pixie Hollow? Bella is pretty insistent on it. Plus I have heard the fairies do great meet and greets, so its a sure thing for us. Anyway, I loved your update and Princess is so cute on IASW both years! What a doll!

I just wanted to let you know I am enjoying your TR...it is helping me get through the next 65 days until I can start living mine!
