Celebrating 9 days with my 4 kids(7,6,4,2)May 2009, I know I'm late starting this TR

Think the naps were well deserved after your morning and the stress of misplaing your card. Great that you got it back :woohoo: It's also good to know the fp machines have that built in.

You are right on the bonny translation :thumbsup2

Night in MK can't wait to hear about that

I love all food shows too!! Haha sometimes I really consider going to Culinary school. The TV is always on the food network.

I'm glad the CM found your card!

Every time I see you kiddies I go oh man that is a great excuse to not feel silly taking pictures with characters. Sometimes I do cause adults will look at me like why are you taking pictures you don't have kids.....

I did get stopped by the Mad Hatter in Tokyo DL. I think he just wanted to speak English to some one but he wouldn't let us leave until he knew like everything about us!

I can't wait to read more!!

I like Cake Boss as well! I think the show is hilarious and his sisters are nuts! LOL He seems to just LOVE what he does so much!!

Astro Orbiters was one of the only rides we didn't get too since the line was pretty long.

I'm a Cake Boss fan, too. I missed the WDW one, I will have to search for the repeat on DVR. Thank GOD for DVR! :lovestruc My fav so far was the bachelorette party one where they wanted to make strippers but his mom kept freaking out. It was hilarious! :rotfl2:

So glad you found your card. I did not know that about the machines, very good info to have. I also love Splash. It is sooo much fun. We have the whole ride minus the big drop videotaped from when I was young and Bella loves watching it. She can't wait to ride.

Phew! What a relief! I could imagine being totally panicked at losing the KKTW card.

Hey, I never knew that about Jungle cruise - maybe I need to read some threads other than TRs! Maybe we'll do Jungle Cruise on the evening we arrive at the world!

I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating - your kids are adorable!

Oh today it is officially 60 days until our first trip to Disney!

I just found this...your kiddies are tooooooo stinkin cute!

Sooooo we must have crossed paths a few times! We were there last year from April 30th- May 10th!

This year we are going from April 23rd to May 2nd woohoo! and staying at AKL, another woohoo! for me!

What are your dates for this year?

Your report is hilarious! But you have not once mentioned ( or I may have skimmed over ) the fact that is was 1 Bagillion degrees out that week! Seriously I think there were record highs set for that week in FLA.
Since we were lucky enough to have stayed at the Beach Club last year we spent most afternoons at the pool because the parks were too hot and crowded!

I give you many kuddos :worship: for handling that heat with 4 little ones! Anyhow great report, I have wanted to comment on so many things but I can remember what they were because I kept on reading!

Oh I remember one thing that made me laugh, your oldest's face peeking at the yellow power ranger that he had no interest in! It cracked me up, my DS is 10 and he would have done the same thing!

No, I didn't see the Disney episode. Why didn't you get the picture of DS drinking vienna juice?????:confused3 Lol.

I'm glad you found your KTTW card. :cool1:

I do not want your TR to end. Who am I going to mess with about food porn???:sad2::sad2:
:guilty:

I'm in. Guess I have to post the pic now, huh??? How about two?

Here's one from our trip in May/June 2008:

image039.jpg

And here's one from our most recent trip. I photoshopped myself into it b/c I don't have my Photopass pix yet, so I don't have any with all of us!

AllatAK.jpg

Looking forward to the rest of your report!

P.S. I have a 'Lego', too. He's our engineer, and he has just a little bit of a one track mind.

:cool1:Now I know what probably happened to my DS's KTTW card when he lost it on our Sept 2008 visit. I had no idea that the machines sucked the cards back in. I was in a panic but we just went to the front desk at POFQ and he was issued another card. It was quite a scare as he was on the bus when he realized that he didn't have his card. It would have been no big deal except for the fact that it was during Free Dining & the Food & Wine Festival....I had visions of all of my snack credits being gone when I checked but everything was still there....what a relief.

I was so afraid that my card was going to be all charged up. It was a relief to find it. Thanks for letting me know you can get another one issued at the front desk!! Just in case it happens again.;)

So glad you found your card! After your jam-packed morning, I bet your kids took great naps! Can't wait to hear about Jungle Cruise at night. That was one of the things I had wanted to do but couldn't fit in.

Some took naps, and some wanted to swim. You will never figure out who stayed behind to take a nap with the little ones, and who had to take the older ones to the pool.

You have changed your avatar. I like that picture of Mickey and Minnie that you have. Super Cute!

Think the naps were well deserved after your morning and the stress of misplaing your card. Great that you got it back :woohoo: It's also good to know the fp machines have that built in.

You are right on the bonny translation :thumbsup2

Night in MK can't wait to hear about that

I am so glad the FP machines suck back in the card. I would have loved a nap this day, but only one of us could stay with the sleeping ones because the older two wanted to swim.

You are never to old to get your pictures taken with the characters. Any adult who gives you dirty looks, must have some serious problems. I think the characters are sometimes more interactive with the adults than they are the kids. That is awesome about Mad Hatter. Do you speak any other languages with all the countries you have visited?

I like Cake Boss as well! I think the show is hilarious and his sisters are nuts! LOL He seems to just LOVE what he does so much!!

Astro Orbiters was one of the only rides we didn't get too since the line was pretty long.

That line is almost always so long. At least it gives you an excuse to go back. I am wondering how many trips it is going to take for us to finally do everything.;)

As far as Cake Boss, I love Buddy's mom! She is hilarious and always cracks me up with yelling at everyone about how she is the boss.

I'm a Cake Boss fan, too. I missed the WDW one, I will have to search for the repeat on DVR. Thank GOD for DVR! :lovestruc My fav so far was the bachelorette party one where they wanted to make strippers but his mom kept freaking out. It was hilarious! :rotfl2:

I missed the bachelorette party episode, but think it is on my DVR. I will have to go watch it now.

Now you have me wanting to go on youtube and look for videos of my favorite rides. Youtube is another addiction.

You are so kind. I am so excited for you!!!! Here is a little dance for 60 days, although it is probably even closer now!:dance3:

I just found this...your kiddies are tooooooo stinkin cute!

That is awesome that we were there at the same time! Have you found yourself in the background of any of my pictures? That heat was definitely killer. It was the worst going around the world showcase!! My DH said the next time he wanted to go back when it was cooler, he would rather fight the crowds. We aren't going back this year. At least not so far. We are focusing on paying off our debts first. My dad needs to remodel his house, and has asked DH to do it, so this may be just the side job he needs so we can go back this year. I would love to go to MNSSHP or MVMCP.

That's awesome that your trip is coming up for this year!! :yay:

No, I didn't see the Disney episode. Why didn't you get the picture of DS drinking vienna juice?????:confused3 Lol.

I'm glad you found your KTTW card. :cool1:

I do not want your TR to end. Who am I going to mess with about food porn???:sad2::sad2:
:guilty:

It will be so sad for me when it is over as well. We will have to go search the DR's and let each other know when we find a good one. I don't think I have ever come across a bad DR though. Unless someone tries to do one without pictures.

I'm in. Guess I have to post the pic now, huh??? How about two?

WOW!! You are an excellent photoshopper!! I would have never guessed that you were not originally in that photo. That's amazing. Your family is adorable, and it looks like you travel with four kids in tow as well. Does your car ever look like mine? How old are your kids? Where do you all stay when you go? I am always interested to find out where other families of 6 or more stay. How old is your Lego? Are you tired of me asking questions yet? It looks like I am a nosy person!

Okay, I think I have finally figured out how to post photos. Hope this works...

Here we are at the beach last summer.

Here we are on our last trip to Disney (almost 2 years ago with me pregnant and DD not liking Tigger).

Thanks for keeping up with the trip reports!!

I speak some Japanese actually not a lot but it was more than enough to prevent us from getting lost and to survive day to day for the two years were there. I lived there when I was in high school for four years. But every time we'd come back to the states. I'd have no one to practice with, so it almost disappears on me. DH wants me to double major or minor it it. I wanted to take major in French since it's the third most spoken language in the world and it could land me a translating job or interpeter job. DH thinks it's cool I know Japanese so he keeps trying to push me into keeping it up. But it's really hard. I just if we just spent a few more years there I might be good to go. :P

I won't go into the nasty car stories I could tell :lmao: My kids are 11, 8, 5 & 5. (The boys are turning 6 in a couple of weeks)

We inherited DVC points from my Dad a couple of years ago, so we stay in a 2BR in one of the DVC resorts each time we go. We always stayed at OKW when my dad was with us (he was one of the original owners from back in 1991 or 1992, and he loved that place) The last couple of times we've tried Saratoga Springs and Bay Lake Tower. They are all really, really nice. I think the FW cabins are supposed to be great for families of 6. We did two connecting rooms at Pop Century one time, and that was a lot of fun, too. I probably know too much about trying to find decent lodging for a larger family. The whole world seems to be set up for families of 4!

My Lego is almost 6 (like I said above :goodvibes) He's been able to follow Lego directions for what seems like forever now. He always amazes us with what he can figure out on his own! He's the one who, last trip (he was barely 4) hated It's a Small World (the first ride he went on!), and pretty much just wanted to go 'home' (meaning back to the hotel room) the whole trip after that. Not a big joiner. He'd rather be home with his bike and his toys. I don't know where that comes from, b/c DH and I both love to go out and do stuff. Anyway, he did better this trip, although he would still probably have rather been home. We'd say 'We're going to go ride *whatever*.' He'd say "Awwww, can't we just go home (hotel room).' We'd go ride it, all together, we'd come off, he'd say 'I LOVED it.' We'd say 'Now we're going to go ride *whatever*.' He'd say 'Awwwww, can't we just go home.' We'd go ride it, he'd say 'I LOVED it'. This was his standard reply to each ride. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Funny kid. He just gets something in his mind and won't let it go until the plan goes his way.

Anyway, probably TMI (sorry), but I'm enjoying your report since our kids are so similar in age. Fun!!!

Now you have me wanting to go on youtube and look for videos of my favorite rides. Youtube is another addiction.

I went to youtube a few weeks ago to look for some rides to show to Bella. I wanted her to see the Haunted Mansion and a couple of others so she could decide for herself if she wanted to ride. The dark rides like HM and Peter Pan you can't really see much. But some of the other ones might be cool!

Thanks for keeping up with the trip reports!!

Your family picture on the beach is beautiful! You have a good looking family. How did your DD's end up with light hair? You all have such a beautiful skin tone. I am glad you were able to post the pics!!

You should keep up the Japanese! I am sure that is a hard language to learn. Make a trip back for sure!:thumbsup2

We always tell our kids that when they get a car, we are going to get in the back with a box of goldfish and a container of pringles and dump them out and stomp all over them. Then we will hide some old milk cups under the seats somewhere, spill some sprite in the cupholders, and lick the windows to put slobber marks all over them.

That is awesome about the DVC points. I would like to talk my DH into doing the DVC, but he won't budge on it.

Your Lego sounds just like my Lego.;)

I went to youtube a few weeks ago to look for some rides to show to Bella. I wanted her to see the Haunted Mansion and a couple of others so she could decide for herself if she wanted to ride. The dark rides like HM and Peter Pan you can't really see much. But some of the other ones might be cool!

That is a good idea about HM. I should do that before our next trip and see if it will help Lego(DS6) to go on it the next time.

Alright, just to recap. We did all of Fantasyland, the parts of toontown that we wanted to do, HM, Splash, and the stuff in Tomorrowland that we wanted to do. My kids have always wanted to do tomorrowland speedway, but we have never been able to do it because they would have to ride with an adult. So we would have to stand in line while one of us would take the kids around it one at a time. I just didn't want to wait that long. Eventually my kids will be 54" and then the older two can ride while DH and I each ride with a kid, but until then I guess we can't do this ride. So, Princess(DD2) and DH were whiny and in desperate need of a nap. Plus, it was hot and we forgot our spray fan that we shelled out the bucks for. :confused3 We walked the long walk to our bus stop. Of course we see a bus at the stop while we are about a mile out, so then we are running to catch it and the kids are all dragging their heels behind us. Thank goodness the younger two were in the strollers, but the older two were insistent on walking. There must have been some cute girls around or something and they just didn't want to look like idiots. I don't know, but I had to practically throw DH the strollers and run back to grab the older two by the hands and run with them. Thank goodness we made the bus, or I would not have been happy. So we were all sweaty and out of breathe and of course Princess(DD2) wants to lay her hot body down on top of me so that she can go to sleep. She was out in no time, but then when we got back to the resort we had the problem of how to get the strollers and the kids off without waking up Princess(DD2). Somehow we managed and made it back to the room.

Now, I know the boys were dragging their heels to get to the bus, but that must have been because they were hot. They said they were not tired and proceeded to beg and plead to go to the pool. I look at DH who says he is not going to the pool, he is going to lay down and take a nap. Then I get mad because once again I am the one taking the kids to the pool while he gets to take a nap. So, I make a lot of noise, and slam the bathroom door while I am getting my swimsuit on. I feel bad for my boys because I don't want them to think I am mad at them so I try to smile at them while opening and shutting cabinets and making every noise I could think of. It didn't matter because DH was asleep in no time and could care less about my hormonal temper tantrum. We stayed at the pool for about an hour and a half and wouldn't you know, right as we were getting ready to leave, DH shows up with Princess(DD2). Well, she starts crying because she is wanting to get in the water and of course DH is not wearing that $40 swimsuit we had to buy. So, I get back into the water with Princess(DD2). Then DH asks if something is wrong with me. Why can't men read our minds?;) So then I let him have it for not letting me take a nap once this vacation and he promises that the next time will be my turn....we will see. I then realize that we have to get going because we have a dinner reservation at the Liberty Tree Tavern at 5:30. I quickly suck up my attitude and go back into commander. Everyone solutes me and we are on our way. We arrived back at MK about 5:00 and we see Pluto standing out there all alone. So we get a picture with him.

campingandDisney2009742.jpg

and then my kids get his autograph once again. I think we had Pluto's autograph 6 times in their books.

campingandDisney2009737.jpg

campingandDisney2009740.jpg

On the way back in we decided to get some pictures in front of the castle since we were in too big of a hurry that morning.

Image597.jpg

DH and Lego(DS6) are the only ones who didn't realize that you are supposed to be looking at Tinkerbell. I know it is hard to see her against Donald's shirt. We should have made DH squat down. You would have been able to see her against his shirt for sure.

Image594.jpg

Image600.jpg

Donald(DS4) is starting to get mad at this point

Image593.jpg

Look, I can hold Princess(DD2) without any hands

Image592.jpg

Image587.jpg

We then headed back to Liberty Tree Tavern to see if they could go ahead and get us in. I am so disappointed that they took the characters out of this dinner. This is another one of my favorite family style restaurants, we love us some good southern food. DH loved this place last time so I scheduled it again this year. I try to do whatever I can to make him love Disney so that we can continue to go back for every vacation. Anyways, we loved it this year too, even though they got rid of the characters. Lego(DS6) was still celebrating his birthday while here.

Birthday Lego

campingandDisney2009746.jpg

Still being sweet as can be to his sister

campingandDisney2009751.jpg

Then we see what we had been waiting for. They bring out a plate full of wonderful beef brisket, turkey, and ham with a yummy sweet glaze served over stuffing. It also comes with a side of macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans. Makes me want to go back just thinking about it!
Sorry these are blurry.

campingandDisney2009744.jpg

campingandDisney2009745.jpg

I especially loved the beef brisket and this is all you can eat so you can always ask for more!!

campingandDisney2009743.jpg

Princess(DD2) enjoying her food

campingandDisney2009747.jpg

Then it was time for Lego(DS6) to enjoy the attention as they brought him his cupcake. The family in the background looks happy for Lego(DS6). That is so sweet.

campingandDisney2009748.jpg

campingandDisney2009749.jpg

campingandDisney2009750.jpg

I hope I am that happy in the background of other people's pictures. On top of Lego's cupcake, we also got a really good apple crumble with icecream for dessert. It was delicious, sorry I didn't get a picture of it.

After we finished our yummy meal we decided it was time to go use our FP's at BTMR, if it was working again. I asked the kids if they needed to go to the bathroom before we left, and they all said no. Then, of course, as soon as we left the restaurant they needed to go, so we made a pit stop.

campingandDisney2009754.jpg

Then I took a picture of this random balloon.

campingandDisney2009753.jpg

We got to BTMR right after they just reopened it. It had been off and on this day. I headed with the older two boys into the FP line. Well, wouldn't you know it. We got almost all the way to the front of the line and there was a CM there having an argument with some guy about his FP. It was some piece of paper that had something written on it, and she was not about to take it. I am not really sure what the deal was, but she also wouldn't let anyone pass him until he understood he had to go to the back of the line. She sat and argued with this man for at least 7 or 8 minutes. Then some supervisor came over and finally let the man go ahead. Thank goodness, I really didn't care if he had a legit FP or not, I just wanted to ride. Then I was afraid she would reprimand me for not coming back earlier during my alotted time. She didn't say anything to me though, just told me to enjoy the ride. Here we go!

campingandDisney2009755.jpg

I think I just started snapping random shots.

campingandDisney2009756.jpg

Apparently I am not good at random shots while in motion as you will see below.

campingandDisney2009757.jpg

campingandDisney2009758.jpg

campingandDisney2009760.jpg

These next pictures were while DH was riding with the boys. I think he was catching on to my plan of going first whenever we child swapped because he insisted I went first with the boys on BTMR.

campingandDisney2009761.jpg

campingandDisney2009762.jpg

campingandDisney2009763.jpg

campingandDisney2009764.jpg

We then decided to head over and do adventureland since we had saved it for the evening.

First we did Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride. Surprisingly, there wasn't much of a line so when we got off Goofy(DS7) asked if we could do it again. For some reason Donald(DS4) and Lego(DS6) didn't want to ride, so DH said he would take them to the the Swiss family treehouse while I rode again with Goofy(DS7) and Princess(DD2). Man, I must have really put the fear in him earlier in the day with my temper tantrum for him to volunteer to let me ride. Actually, I think he wanted to go through that treehouse, and he knew I had no desire so now was his chance. It worked out perfectly because we both got done at the same time. Next, we rode POTC and then headed over to do the Jungle Cruise. Let me just say, this must have been where the whole park was. Everybody else must have read the same thing I did about going at dusk because that line was 45 minutes long. DH didn't really want to wait, but I was the commander this day so I gave him the look and he quickly yet quietly got in line. I told him it would work out perfectly because by the time we would get to the front it would just be starting to get dark. The line ended up taking about 30 minutes, and it did work out perfectly because you can see how light it is in this picture.

campingandDisney2009766.jpg

and then notice the duskness of the sky in this one.

campingandDisney2009767.jpg

In case you are wondering the perfect time of duskness for May, it was 7:40 when we got in the line and 8:10 when we got on our boat. Perfect duskness=8:10.

Here was our guide

campingandDisney2009768.jpg

Now, I must have gotten side tracked by the amazing adventurous tales he was telling because I only ended up taking this one picture the whole ride

campingandDisney2009769.jpg

Now you can see how much more real this snake looks in the light of dusk then in the light of day.;) After seeing all those animals, I decided I was thirsty/hungry. That means I was in desperate need of a Dole Whip. Goofy(DS7) let out a huge holler that I had never heard before. WOOOOOOOOO, he was excited. We got our dole whips and savored every bite. I then told DH how I really was wanting to watch the fireworks, but he did not want to fight the crowds with our strollers to get on the bus afterwards. So sadly we headed out before the fireworks. :sad2: I walked slowly back to the bus. Once we were outside of the park, but before the bus stops, I asked DH if we could sit on the benches out there and watch. He made the compromise. I will admit, it wasn't nearly as nice as watching the fireworks with the castle view, but it was better than nothing. Plus, we also were able to be in the front of the line waiting for our bus and it was a good thing because for some reason POR did not get a bus for a very long time. We saw buses for other resorts come three times and we still didn't have one. By the time our bus finally came, the line was backed up all the way to the previous bus stop. It was definitely a good thing we were in the front, especially with those darn double strollers!! Thanks to my DH!:thumbsup2

I love your trip report. I'm going to be your newest stalker :goodvibes

You can actually re-ride the Speedway w/o getting off if you have two kids with you. (DH and I each alway just say that we are two separate groups of three. They'll let you ride three in each car) Just tell the guy loading (when they ask you how many are in your party) that you have two kids with you who each want to drive. In summer of 2008 the woman who was going to let us out told us we could switch drivers to the other kid and then let us ride again. (She was so nice to us, too. She took a picture of me w/ the 2 kids I had with me in our car and DH with the 2 kids he had with him in his car. I think I actually cried when she did this. It was such a nice thing to do. They are great pix, and I really cherish them. I don't mean to whine, but it is often really hard to get good pictures when you are two adults with four young kids. Usually I'm just trying to manhandle everyone onto and off of the rides, so pix take a backseat.)

Anyway, two weeks ago when we were there, the Speedway people put a little canvas cuff or flag or something on our cars to signal that we would be switching drivers and riding again. SO much better than having to get out and stand in line again so that each kid could drive.

I always sit in the middle and push the gas peddle while the kids each take their turn driving. I hope it works out for you guys next time like this.
