Hello,

I am heading to disney in 2 weeks and we are celebrating my daughters 5th birthday. We plan on getting her a birthday pin at our resort but I read that sometimes magic kingdom will give you an extra fast pass or allow you to be in the parade or something special like that, I'm curious how often you guys think this happens....
I am not expecting this by any means and we are just fortunate to go be able to go to Disney again since we were just on a disney cruise and disney in February. But I am curious if this has happened to anybody?

Thanks

Our DD got lots of birthday wishes, lots of cupcakes, and one CM gave her a pin.

I would go into it expecting nothing and if anything happens it's extra pixie dust. We were there in Feb for DD 6th bday and she wore her button, I noted it on all our ADRs and she never really received anything other than people saying "Happy Birthday" to her. She really enjoyed that- especially other kids saying it to her which I thought was really sweet:goodvibes I thought they would have given her the free cupcake at our meals and sang to her, but even after confirming at check-in, with our waiters, and wearing her pin it never happened. She didn't know what she was missing so it was okay, but I know almost everyone is "celebrating" something at WDW these days so I think they can't do as much as they used to. If you want a special experience for her I would definitely plan it yourself and anything Disney does is a bonus:thumbsup2

Being at Disney is a special birthday gift in itself! Could you plan something extra special for her like a Princess meal, tea or BBB? dessert party? maybe bring party supplies and get some balloons? Hope your daughter has a fun birthday at Disney and gets sprinkled with some extra surprises from the Cast Members!

On the restaurant board, there is an on going cake thread that has information about ordering a cake. I went last year on my birthday and got lots of happy birthday wishes which was great.

My son got lots of cupcakes! And at the character meals he got signed birthday cards. We special ordered a custom cake to be delivered to chef mickey's to celebrate his birthday. (and other times when he wore the birthday pin he didn't get any recognition - so don't expect it but when it happens it's awesome!!)
