Celebrating 25th wedding anniversary at WDW

You could have a cake made and delivered to the room. I did that last year for my wife's birthday nad it was special for her to walk into the room after a day at the parks and see the beautiful cake.

You could then recreate the feeding of the cake from your wedding.

My son is graduating high school this year and this would be a great surprise! Did the hotel have the cake made for you or do you have to contact somebody else?

I asked at the desk when checking in they said just to call room service the day before and they took it from there. I think it also depends on where you are staying. If your hotel doesn't have room service, you might have to get it from somewhere else.

I have also heard that the Boardwalk bakery does a fantasic job at cakes as well, so that might be an option too.

Thanks for the info! We're staying at the Swan so even the Boardwalk bakery is a great idea. I didn't even think of that.

Cindie-Rella,

You mentioned here that you want to renew your vows at the UK at Epcot. How would I find out about this? Can you do this in any of the countries at Epcot? We have a PS for the Rose & Crown on a Friday evening hoping to get seated at an outside table so to watch Illuminations while dining. I would like to renew our vows while there but I wanted something simple and inexpensive.

From the information I have so far, you can do this through wedding services. I believe that for the rose garden it has to be an intimate wedding and must be done before the WS opens at 11 a.m. So if three years from now they still do this, we'll be renewing our vows at 10 in the morning. But that leaves us the rest of the day to PARTY! :Pinkbounc

Plutolover,

Just to let you know if you want to renew your vows in an intimate ceremony you have 5 locations to choose from and Epcot is not one of them. If you really want to be in Epcot you have to have a small custom wedding, but you would need to contact Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and see if that would be possible. Just for what it is worth, the area you are talking about is called UK upper and lower. My dream was always to get married in Epcot but that was not in our budget. So instead we had a welcome party for all of our guests at the UK upper and had an Illuminations Dessert Party. Best money we spent as far as I'm concerned(getting married at the Poly was pretty good too! :teeth: ) We had 20 guest and so much room and awesome desserts, and the coffee was to die for..real chocalate shavings and whip cream..I cried when I saw the way it was set up...if you have any questions PM me and I can answer them. Disneys FTW's go out of their way whether you are an intimate or custom...I will never regret getting married in WDW!

This is a great thread, lots of ideas to remember!!!!

We spent our honeymoon at what was then the Buena Vista Palace in DTD then celebrated our 15th at the BC. We're now planning our 20th, which will be in 2006, by staying at the Dolphin.

What lovely ideas!
Our 24th anniversary was a bit more low key.
We bought Mickey and Minnie bride and groom pins and wore them everywhere. People seemed to love it when they asked if we were on our honeymoon and we said yes our 24th.
We ate at Cindys and had the "pixie dust" on our table. We got the glasses as well (I never revealed what we got before, but since the cat is out of the bag) and you can only get them if you celebrate your anniversary or honeymoon.
A new CM earning her ears wanted to put on our Boma reservation it was our anniversary, but I told her it was the day before. She seemed so excited to do something extra so her trainer told her to go ahead and do it. We got a song and some special desserts with happy anniversary written in chocolate along with a card with messages from several CMs written in their language.
A security guard at the baggage check at MK noticed my pin, found out it was our anniversary and yelled loudly attention everyone. Everyone in the lines turned to look, and all bag checking stopped. He then explained it was our 24th honeymoon and we were celebrating at MK. We got cheering and clapping in response.
It was fun. We wore the pins because we wanted to, but we did get some attention because of it that made it seem like everyone was celebrating with us.

Does anyone have any info on hiring a photographer, how do you go about doing this? We are going to celebrate our 15th anniversary in August and that sounds awesome!
Here are some photographers from an unofficial disney site, if I find any names from an official site I will post them. Not to say there should be any problem with these photographers, you could call and see what arrangements could be made. :cool1: http://www.yourfairytale.com/vendors.html :wizard:

For my ILs 50th anniversary, I bought them the bride and groom ears. I bought them at the Christmas store (Days of Christmas) in DTD. An artist wrote their names, 50th, and the date of their wedding on the actual ears. She did an awesome job. My ILs got a lot of comments from other guests wishing them well. People were very kind to them.

I let HDDR know that it was their 50th. I made ressies about 8 months in advance. We were on the second row. They were asked to dance for the audience. Dolley picked on my FIL the entire show. Even when we left people were recognizing him and calling him by name. He is still talking about it. I know my MIL is tired of hearing him tell anyone and everyone about the HDDR. :rotfl2:

I think the "Romance Dinner for 2" sounds fabulous. $250 is less than we paid for V & A's. I think that is a bargain. I'm sure you were spoiled rotten. This is something I will definitely do in the future.

Just looking for more anniversary ideas - we are celebrating our 20th on June 8th & I am WAAAYYYY behind on planning! Has anyone else done one of the private dining experiences? Those sound great!

Also, does anyone know if they are still doing the re-hitching ceremony at the Garden Grill?

We're going to DW at the end of Nov. as a family vacation/celebration. My oldest DD turns 18 that month, and we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary the next day. Our celebration trip is 10 days later. Can we still mention this when we make PS's?
