Celebrate The Magic refurb

We go the 25th of August, but stay past the refurb window. Where are the projectors located? Will this create an obstruction in front of the castle while they work on it. Anyone know?

We booked the early morning hours for August 30th, hoping to get pictures in front of the castle with minimal people.

Seriously, they just announce this now? The week before? :sad2::scared:>:(>:(>:(

We are there from the 3rd -12th. Fortunately we have the 4th planned for MK. I'll have to make sure to see the show that night I guess. Same for BTMRR which goes to refurb on August 8th!

*** Really????? I leave Tuesday GRRRRRRRRR. You just found out that you were referbing for a whole month NOW???!!!!

Will totally miss this, travel in 11 days. This trip(5 the for us) has the most returns we have ever experienced. I realise that there is no 'quiet time' at WDW, but surely August is quite a busy time, plenty of European visitors will be there anyway!

The projectors are currently located above Tomorrowland Terrace and somehwere around Caseys on main street. I doubt any changes should obstruct the castle unless they're moving the projectors there - which might make sense because I can't understand why it takes a month to swap out projectors...

Maybe they're changing the fireworks for the show too and adding lasers and giant flame throwers like Star Wars. :D

They can change the show if they want so long as they keep the Tangled lantern scene. I'll bet they'll change it to the Halloween version soon either way.

Kinda regretting this trip. I can accept BTM closed( not happy but knew about it a few months ago). Now I lost my ppo ADR because MK is opening at 8 and today I find that there is no celebrate the magic. I always loved wdw but. Now I'm thinking it will be our last trip for a long time. You pay premium money and They don't seem to care about giving a so-so experience. I had to decide what park I wanted to be in and what time I wanted to eat 6 months ago so I could get to wait for the next open table and they change things with less than 30 days. Almost feels like they are thumbing their noses at us

This is so disappointing! So now we will miss this, It's a Small World (DH's favorite), Dinosaur, and BTMRR! :guilty:

I'm sooooo sad about this. I'm glad we know now though.

What's the best MSEP/FW strategy now that we don't need a front closeup view of the castle for CTM?

Interesting. Just a few days ago, CTM wasn't showing up at all for the first week of August (we will be at MK Aug 1 and Aug 4). Now, this. Glad we will see it!

Wow /: Already super bummed about Dinosaur and BTM. Going with many people who have never been. Ugh.
