Ceiling fans being removed from the Poly!!!

Guess I'll have to try it out when we get there but I have a feeling it'll be too warm for me to comfortably sleep.

Maybe try it at home first? It's awful no doubt, but for me it's better than going to sleep comfortable and waking up burning hot. The lightest PJs you can find can help too. It reminds me of growing up when we had no AC and we would all sleep with all of these fans blowing on us. Now I pay for this privilege :scratchin

I couldn't even begin to do that to myself at home. With the temps in the 90s these few days here, I've been in the low 70s but with a ceiling fan and I'm supposedly a restless sleeper even at that temp - DH tells me one minute the blankets are all kicked off, next I'm rolled up like a burrito and this supposedly occurs all year round. I'm pretty certain one day I'll come home and will find I have my own bed. LOL.

Ugh. Ceiling fans in the rooms is one of the reason DH likes WDW resorts...and the lack thereof is one of the reasons he refuses to stay at a value resort lol. I did notice their removal years ago with the rehab of POR mansions, but we've only been in DVC locations or deluxe since then. Lack of or reduction of AC is annoying in more than just temperature, here in Florida humidity plays a huge factor in comfort, and mold control. There are many days that are cool enough to have the windows open, but the humidity will choke you, so we needed to close up the house and run the AC.

Just got back from the Poly - we were club level, so Hawaii building (3rd floor). We were able to set the thermostat below 72, day or night. And the air conditioner would go on during the night - I know since I'm a terrible sleeper!

I don't think you'll have an issue. My aunt overrides the sensor at BLT every single time we're there, with our last trip being last week. She sets it to 65 and while the rest of us wear layers around the room, she's comfortable, and the AC never once goes off or reverts back to its standard set temp.
