We are going to Cedar Point in a couple of weeks and were going to buy our tickets at Meijers today because they are cheaper than they are at the gate. It was quite confusing on what tickets to buy and the people at Meijers had no clue. Here is what they have:

1 day pass for Cedar Point = $25.99
1 day pass for Soak City = $29.99
2 day pass for Cedar Point and Soak City = $70.99

By the looks of it, it looks cheaper to buy the 2 individual passes. The information on the pre-paid cards was confusing. Is the $70.99 one like a Disney park hopper in that you can go back and forth between CP and SC? That is the only thing I can figure out why you would spend more for a 2 day pass. At least with Disney tickets, they are pretty much self-explanatory. We haven't been to Cedar Point in 13 years so have no idea what to buy. We are staying at the Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky which has a small water park. I thought about going to CP one day and SC the next day. DH thinks that we would only spend a few hours at Soak City (since the kids will be able to swim at the hotel) and then might want to go back to CP. Basically, what I want to know is if the 2 day pass is a "park hopper"? If you have been to SC, how long would you expect to stay there. My kids ages are 16, 14 and 10 and they all like water and thrill rides. I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

I do think that the passes are like "Park Hopper" tickets. However, the discount tickets for Cedar Point are a GREAT deal while the combo ticket is just a discount. In fact, I checked your park ticket price twice and plan on checking out our Meijer's here to see if the pricing is as good closer to the park! Also, the Cedar Point website says that the tickets do not have to be used consecutively which is nice.

Anyway, they rehabbed Soak City just a couple of years ago. It's now an 18 acre water park and has tons of stuff to do for all ages. It just depends on where you want to spend your time. You are right that staying at Great Wolf may diminish some of the water park fun, but Soak City definitely trumps it. However, Cedar Point has changed some since you last visited too, so you may like what you see there. Unfortunately the new ride for this year is still not running. :scared1: Maybe it will be by the time you visit.

I can't help you, I'd assume you have it right but it has been so long for us since we did the waterpark and it was different back then. But, a couple things for you, just in case yo uare interested. Just my opinion.

I grew up and hour and a half from CP. We went every other weekend my whole growing up years. In fact DH and I had our first date there and then our honeymoon. We went every year on our anniversary though our 10th then took a break till last summer, our 16th. In those years we were shocked, really, at the prices of food and drinks. My DH kept saying "and people think Disney is expensive" and "this wouldn't cost that much in Disney." So, you may want to be prepared. It is so much more then when you last went.
Also, Great Wolf has a lot to offer. We loved it there. My kids are huge waterpark kids but there was pleanty of stuff to satisfy them there. Maybe that would be a savings for you. Maybe not, but it is really nice.
There is a Meijer nearby too, so if you buy just one day and then are not satisfied with the hotel's waterpark yo ucould always go buy the extra tickets.
Just some thoughts feel free to ignore but maybe they will help.
I still love CP and it holds a special place in my heart, but next time I will be more prepared with snacks and drinks.

Stay at the Kalahari Resort if you can - it was awesome. We did not look at the Great Wolf lodge in Sandusky, but have stayed at a brand new GWL in Virginia, and the Kalahari blew GWL away! When we visited CP, the local schools weren't out yet, so the park wasn't very crowded. I have family that lives an hour away, and they say that CP can get very, very crowded in the summer, so you will probably want more than one day at each park to experience the rides - they have waited more than 3 hours to ride Top Thrill Dragster before!

The 2 day pass is a park hopper, you can go back and forth between the parks. We go to Cedar Point once a year!
