I couldn't find a phone number for this company and wanted to know if anyone has info on them.

Are they a good company to work for,

nice supervisors?

What is the hourly pay in the Northeast?

Looks like it would be a fun job except for the standing all day part. I assume you have to clean up the work station in the Costco kitchen?

So the people handing out the food samples at Costco are not Costco employees but an outside agency? If so, I never knew that. Interesting.

Sorry, I have no info on CDS

Same employee practice for Stew Leonard's in the NE, another food emporium known for their generous sampling practice. For Stew's it's only the stand alone booths that are manned by non store employees. You can still ask the workers behind the counter for samples of whatever they sell.

OP, I've never worked for them so no idea either.

Yes, I am in the Northeast so very familiar with Stew Leonards!!! Love them and a new store is opening soon at the Paramus Park Mall in NJ.

Didn't know they had outside sample servers either!! Learn something new every day.

Wooo hoo!
We're closest to the Yonkers' store and it's impossible for us to go camping further north without stopping in for their fruit salads, and seafood salads, and whatever else hit's my "kid in a toy shop" mind when I enter there. I've learned to keep one empty ice chest at the front of the overstuffed rental SUV' trunk so I can filler up. Errrr and we have to buy hot pastrami sammies to eat on the road up even if I've already made sandwiches at home. When we leave the parking lot it's traditional for the car's occupants to burst into a rousing chorus of the Beatles "Little Piggies" because at least we know who we are, LOL.

I have never worked for CDS but I used to work for a company that did Costco “Roadshows” and I worked closely with the CDS Managers. Generally the Managers were very friendly. They have an office in the Costco buildings. You can call the Costco and ask to speak to the CDS manager but they will not give you the direct line. You could also stop in your local Costco and look for the CDS office in the back of the store and introduce yourself if you can catch the Manager. They usually work Wed-Sun. The CDS demo people made $12.00 per hour (I think) and worked 6 hour shifts. This was in the Raleigh, NC area. They do not have much to clean up after a demo.

It's taking over the space that Sears used to occupy. Sears is now closed.

"There is no mention in the application of a petting zoo or barnyard animals, which also are signature features at other Stew Leonard stores."

Sacrilege!!;)
Well hopefully the model train will still be up at ceiling level and Chiquita will still do her dance, LOL.

Thank you for letting me know this info.

Can I just say that the sample workers are so nice they must have good bosses.

I grew up in Wilton, CT (pretty close to the Wesport store) and spent so much time at Stew Leonard's! His son actually opened a Farmer's Market (mini Stew's) in Richmond, VA. I miss the ice cream!

CDS is owned by Daymon Worldwide (headquartered in Stamford, CT). My sister worked for Daymon for quite a while. All I know is she told me the sampling business was very profitable.
