That will likely depend on the requirements of the countries that the ships stop at.
This is an interesting point, especially for Europe, which considers a recovery from infection on par with vaccination.

I kinda think that the vaccine requirement will go before the testing requirement.

The doctors office didn’t do it for free?
A lot of insurance is not covering testing any more unless you have symptoms. Seems to depend on where you live. I am definitely seeing fewer and fewer places where you can get a free test.

It will be interesting to see if it starts spreading again ….like last summers short “freedom” phase.

It’s cold as ice in New York City and we haven’t had mandates since February (even though no one was really paying attention anyway) and our cases our severely down. I think we’re through this.

I was in NYC Feb 9-14 and mandates were still in place. They were checking vaccine cards as well. No cards no entry. Just about everywhere I went in the city mask mandates were strictly observed.

I do not think cold weather has anything to do with spread of the virus.

I don’t know if we are through it or not (or if we will ever be), but we haven’t seen this in our local area in about 2 years…

It won’t really matter unless hosptials start having issues. The UK is starting to trend down now with not a whole lot of issues. Hospitals went up a little but manageable and reported that it was hard to distinguish between for covid or with covid .

So you were there for a week and have the take of the city but j live here and clearly don’t know what’s going on.

I guess it does depend on where you live. The covid tests have always been free here. They have drive through testing sites set up here. They don't ask for your insurance, the state pays for it all.

Heck, my insurance plan sends 8 at-home tests per covered person monthly via our mail order pharmacy.
I get 32 a month in a box.

But I don't believe home tests are accepted by cruise lines, only "administered" tests.

It's over, we need to get over it and get back to normal if anyone even remembers what that is.

It's not, have you seen the news on Shanghai this week? Hopefully the availability of vaccines will spread to other regions of the world and we can move past this in the future.

Throughout time, the idea of normal changes. It will after this also.

Or the cruise lines grow a backbone, band together and tell these countries NO! little fiefdoms shouldn’t dictate business practices if it’s not in your interest.

Sovereign countries get to make decisions about what is best for themselves and their people.

Bring on the points!

China has a no tolerance policy. Ten people could have Covid and they are locking people in their houses. China can do what China does. It shouldn’t affect us.

I agree. Sovereign countries get to make decisions for themselves.

China is more concerned about spread as their vaccines have not been as effective at those available in North America and Europe.
