You mention reserving a 2BR last week of Jan 2026, which could be either Jan 24-31, or Jan 25-Feb 1, either of which would still be in your Feb 2025 use year and would cost 278 points.
You do not say how many Feb 2025 points you already have that can be used for the reservation, but, if it is under 278, you would need to borrow points from the Feb 2026 use year to make that reservation today. Such borrowed points will not be returnable to the Feb 2026 use year if the reservation gets canceled. Moreover, the amount you would borrow to make a reservation today better not exceed 128, because you want to later change 150 Feb 2025 points in the reservation to the 150 banked points (2024 points banked into 2025) you will be getting in the resale, and thus if the borrowed points are more than 128, there are going to be some points leftover that will expire at the end of Jan 2026.
Assuming the total points you would need to borrow to reserve last week of Jan 2026 today are 128 or less, then it is possible for you to make a reservation today, and then later replace current use year points already in the reservation with the 150 banked points you are getting in the resale, with the caveat that any such change to the reservation must be done by Sep. 30, 2025, the banking deadline for your Feb 2025 use year, so you can bank the points coming out of the reservation. I assume that will be done, but if not done by Sep 30, any current Feb 2025 use year points coming out of the reservation cannot be banked into the Feb 2026 use year.
As to how you will be able to make the point change in the reservation once you have the new resale points, it depends on the use year and named owners in the deed that will be issued for the new resale contract. You should consider it important that the new resale contract deeds name the same owners as your existing Feb use year deed. in other words, if your current Feb use year deed name you and your spouse as the owners, then you want a new deed for the resale that also names you and your spouse as the owners, particularly if the use year beginning month of the resale contract is Feb, in which case the new contract will become part of your existing membership (and you should make sure those
DVC officials your currently involved with in setting up your new contract are aware of your existing membership).

The Resale Contract also has a February Use year
It sounds like your new resale contract may also have a Feb use year. In that case, as long as the named owners in the deed for the new contract are same as your existing deed, a Feb use year means the new contract will become part of your existing membership. In that case, you will later be able to modify the reservation from the one you make now to a "new" one that is for the same dates and room category that you already have. The modification can be done online using the "modify" section of the DVC site. When doing the modification of the origianl reservation, you will come to a page that asks you to designate the particular contracts you want to use for the modified reservation. Make sure you list both the contract you already own and the new contract from the resale. You then continue on to make the modified reservation. The system is designed to use any already banked points and borrowed points in the contracts first when doing the modification. Thus, when you get to the end you should have the same reservation you had before but now using the borrowed or banked points that exist and taking out current use year points that can then be banked into the Feb 2026 use year.

The Resale Contract Has a Different Use Year Beginning Month
If the beginning use year month of your resale contract is not Feb, the method to replace current Feb use year points in the existing reservation with the banked points from your new CCV contract will require contacting MS to actually do the change.
Having different beginning months of the use year automatically means your new resale contract will not be part of your existing membership. You will have a second Membership with its own membership number. The points in the two memberships cannot be mixed together to make a single reservation and thus you will not be able modify the reservation you have to remove current use year points and add banked points to the reservation, except in one situation:
What you will need to do after the resale contract is in your account (and identified with a different use year and membership number) is contact MS, and during the call: (a) first have MS do a transfer of the banked points in the new membership, which you want to use in the reservation, to your first membership, and then, after the transfer is done, (b) modify the existing reservation by using your Feb contract and the transferred banked points, and mention that you definitely want those banked points used first.
Note, that the ability to transfer already banked points is something new adopted by DVC in Dec 2024. Thus, there might be some risk that whomever you are talking to is not fully familiar with what can be done and may even try to claim it cannot be done. In that case, you should request to speak to a supervisor.
