Cbs is bringing back Hollywood Squares.

saw a commercial for it and dh and I were like-'who are these celebs?' we did'nt reccognize anyone.

Most seem like C-list celebs looking to make a few extra bucks being on a game show. Seems like the network has run out of ideas for new shows so they recycle ones that were popular in the past. Think that show was more suited for a daytime show vs. being on in the evening.

Reminds me of how they keep trying new versions of NCIS...........different actors/different city, but the same concept.

I do know some of the celebrities. I don't go out of my way to watch any of the game shows. I do like Let's Make a Deal, Family Feud and Price is Right. Sometimes Jeapordy. I have tried the new Password - it's so so. If the time is right, find it interesting while changing channels, I will give it a chance and watch.

I've heard about this new version of Hollywood Squares and what I think will happen is that after a week CBS will cancel it because it will fail. Because if you look in the past CBS has had it's share of nighttime game shows and although they showed promise they would get cancelled after so many episodes. Because in CBS's mind nighttime game shows are weak and the only successful game shows CBS has are The Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal in the daytime. So I don't know how this Hollywood Squares remake will do well on CBS because as I mentioned CBS always has bad luck with nighttime game shows. An example of a promising game show that faded too soon because it failed and got cancelled on CBS was Million Dollar Password and the only reason that show had high hopes was because it was hosted by Regis Philbin but I saw episodes of Million Dollar Password and you can see why it failed because the celebrities were mostly CBS stars with the exception of Betty White Tony Hawk and William Shatner and I can see why this show was meant to be Regis's game show comeback but this show I disliked from the very beginning because they ruined Password which was a fun game and the red set didn't feel right. This example is what I predict will happen with Hollywood Squares. Not to mention the host is a CBS sportscaster and Hollywood Squares will most likely use CBS stars in this version. If they would've made it like the John Davidson version from the 80's it would be a smart hit

Hollywood Squares was only fun to me when Paul Lynde was in the middle square. I wish that networks would figure out how to make good comedies again.

the only game show i've enjoyed in recent years was 'snake oil'. very creative.

I'll give it a shot, I like game shows. I don't think they're no-name celebs, I recognized probably 95% of the people they showed.
