My friend who is going w/us in Oct. is wanting a room that is A) close to the bus stops B) close to the beach area C) close to a resturant... in that order. They are traveling with 2 small children, so location in the key here. Which area should I request

Since each of the 6 villages has its own bus stop, and since each village has its own beach ... there's no such thing as a room that's far from either one.

If you want to guarantee a room that is also near the restaurant and food court, then you must reserve and pay extra for a "preferred location" room. These are 6 buildings: all 3 of the buildings in Trinidad North (31-32-33), and 3 of the 6 buildings in Martinique (24-25-26).

Many people who want to be close to Old Port Royale but don't want to pay for preferred location request a room in Aruba or Jamaica.

We were in Aruba building 52, ground floor, right next to the quiet pool. I could not have asked for a better location. It took us 5-10 minutes to walk across the bridges to the food court. The bus stop was a little walk away, but nothing that we couldn't handle as compared to walking in the parks. Many people don't like CBR because they say it is too spread out. That is one of the reasons we like it so much. It feels so much more like a resort than ASMo that we stayed in a few years before. At ASMo, it felt like we were on top of each other. We were very happy at CBR.

Here is a link to the map and locations of bus stops and food court.

Close to is absolutely relative. We stayed in Martinique, not Prefferred (unless we were upgraded and I was clueless) and found it to be close enough. We were on the parking lot side our our building, directly across from a bus stop. We could literally see the bus coming hurry over and make it (not our usual method, but it worked). We had a 5yo with us and he never complained about the walk to the pool/food court and we went back a forth a couple of times during our visit. I carried him off the bus once or twice, but usually he was awake enough to walk across the lot to the room (even learned to use his KTTW to open the door for us, the things that entertain a 5yo! :rotfl: ). I made no room request and ended up in Martinique.

In any event, we really liked CBR and I'd stay there again. We'll be at ASMu this year as it will be just he and I and I'm paying the whole bill (grandma came last year and we split it). I think the All Stars will be fine as I won't be leaving him unattended during the trip to take advantage of those extras at a mod resort anyway. I booked a std room at ASMu and won't make any requests there either.
