CBR "What happened to the magic"

Oh Boy, I'm sorry to say my trip didn't go over so well. What happened to the magic of Disney we just got home two days ago we stayed at CBR (the last time their was in Sept of 1994 on our honeymoon) housekeeping left our door unlocked and delivered gifts and a card to my parents room that didn't even belong to them the card read Hope your feeling better soon well after this trip I hope so too. Because when I called the front desk they made it seem like it was our fault for leaveing the door the way it was. I was upset... Next at the park my child was yelled at for knocking over a box get this (he wasn't the child who knocked it over in the frist place) oh it goes on the gentleman at the front gate,my father approached him and he stated What??do i look like security you have to go over their!!! The Big one ,a store clerk looked me dead in the face and told me she Doesn't read minds!! oh boy I thought it was a test or i was on a hidden camera show. Now there were good moments and a majority of the workers were awesome but it takes a few to make the whole trip a flop. I hope everyone else has a better trip this year.. Good Luck!! I will continue to wish on a star for mine

Sorry to hear your trip was not "magical". It sounds like your whole experience was bad, not just your stay at CBR. Your post subject makes it sound like the CBR has lost it's Disney magic. Did you have any other problems at CBR or just what happened with your door? The flower delivery thing sounds like just a mix up. We are thinking of staying at CBR in September and would like to hear the good and bad about the resort.

Sorry to hear of the problems encountered on your trip.

As DVC members we usually (2X a year) stay at Ol'Key West, but last November we booked late and had to "settle" for a room at CBR. We were pleasantly suprised. We still talk about how much fun that resort was, It seemed to have more of the Disney feel than the timeshare enviorment offers, and the surroundings and cast were nothing but excellent.

Anyway, I hope your trip was just a series of bad luck as I really think the CBR is one of the great values at WDW> Just my 2 cents.

CBR is our all-time favorite Disney resort. I've stayed there many times since it's opening and have never had anything less than a magical vacation.

Sorry to hear your vacation was less than perfect. Was wondering what prompted the CM to state that she didn't read minds...........

We noticed when we stayed at Dixie Landings 3 years ago that some of the rooms we passed in the evening on the way to the food court were held open by the swing lock and the rooms were dark. We were hoping they were not occupied.

We enjoyed CBR when we stayed there 3 1/2 years ago. I had to add a night to our December trip because of airline tickets, we're staying one night there and then 6 nights at BWV. Got Disney Club discount of $106 plus tax.

That was definitely wrong of the front desk CM to blame you for leaving your door open! Apparently housekeeping was in there since they mistakenly delivered a package to your room!

I've stayed at CBR twice and had wonderful experiences with the CM's, I'm sorry your experience was so different!

I'm sorry all those things happened on your trip, even just one of those things could've put a damper on things! But try to remember some of the fun you had! I'm assuming other than the things you mentioned, that you did have fun

I think it would be a good idea to let the manager of the hotel know about the door being left open. If it happened to us I would be VERY upset! And I'd be livid if anyone suggested it was our fault, when clearly someone had been in the room after we left! Was it held open by the security lock thing, or just not fully closed latched? The packages were delivered to your parent's room, not yours, right?

The disney rumors & news board has a list of contacts. not sure how current it is. I always get a response when I send an email, and even got a return phone call about a nice message I sent.

Oh CBR is a beautiful resort, with much to offer. Maybe we just hit a bad time,or the sudden heat was getting to the CM's because it was unusal for this to happen. Maybe they recieved a notice of no raises this year or something that would be enough to get me going if I had to be happy all the time... We will go back again and again, because we did have a nice time with the family besides all the other things.. Hope everyone trip is a safe and enjoyable one......
