We're planning a trip next May. Both the CBR and WL look great, but which is better? Which offers the more efficient transportation? Anything advice you could offer would be great!

We have stayed at both and the WL wins hands-down. Transportation to the MK is via a boat. This adds to the excitement IMO. I've read that others staying at WL had trouble with bus transportation, but I've never experienced that. The CBR is a very pretty resort but it is very large with several (6 or 7) internal bus-stops. This adds significant time to your ride. I'm not saying we disliked CBR. Far from it. It was very nice. It's just not up to the standards of the WL. HTH.

You might want to check out the CBR FAQ thread listed below.

Yes CBR is large but most people are happy with the transporation at this resort. Keep in mind that most people post when they have had a bad experience but don't take the time to write when everything runs smoothly.

CBR is a beautiful resort. If you have any questions please post them in the CBR FAQ and you will get lots of responses.

Funny you asked this question because I was just pondering this a few weeks ago. I have WL booked and have stayed there before. I have never stayed at CBR. The main reason we spent the extra $300 to stay at WL was because of it's proximity to MK and because we are Lazy Butt tourists who don't want to be in a sprawled out resort. I would like to try CBR someday for a few days. I think you would like either one because all of Disney is great in my opinion!

Good luck

We just got back from a three night stay where we spent two nights at CBR and one at WL.

CBR is a beautiful resort! The room is very nice and everyone is helpful. The food court is wonderful here. You can find just about anything you care to eat. The pool is great especially at night. And you can see fireworks from Epcot! However...

WL really surprised me! It is definitely a deluxe resort as they pamper you. It is so much prettier than CBR ( at least I thought so) and there's a lot to see. The room is much bigger and you have a balcony (we had a woods view). The food court is more expensive and doesn't offer as much but it's not as crowded either. They have two sit down restaurants here too. The pool here is great!

I would gladly stay a week at CBR as we didn't really get to have the full effect. But if I had to choose, I must admit I'd choose WL!

If you stay at WL be sure and be adventurous and check out everywhere you can climb or walk. We found several alcoves and scenic views that we would have missed if I hadn't had a curious 11 year old.

You will have a great time either way!

The WL hands down. I'd always choose a deluxe over a moderate but in this case the transportation alone would make me choose WL.

After having just returned from our trip staying at OKW, I'd never again choose a resort that relies totally on bus service for transportation. It was the only drawback to OKW imo. The CBR has the same problem with transportation that OKW did for us; the large number of internal bus stops.

WL does share a bus with other resorts depending on the time of day and where you're going, but I'd much rather stop at one or two resorts than the large number of internal stops.

We stayed at WL this past Christmas and the transportation was much better than what we experienced at OKW.

"To each his own" as they say...I prefer CBR (and have stayed at both). #1 reason- I just like the Carribean theming more. (I'd prefer a vacation in the Carribeasn to one in the wilderness) #2 reason- I like the ease of the moderates in terms of no lobbies or long corridors to trek thru. I know I'm a small minority, but just another POV!

Ive stayed at both and love both. The thing is that your talking about totally different theming here. If you like the theming of both, then I would go for the wilderness lodge, especially since youve never stayed there. Your jaw will be on the floor when you first step into that beautiful lobby and see the stream rolling by under the bridge and the high ceiling. Plus, everything is in one building. Its great to be able to just hop on the elevator and walk thru that beautiful lobby and grab a quick bite from the food court after a long day and night at the parks. Also, the boat ride to the magic kingdom is very relaxing. Last but definately not least is the fact that you can walk or take the boat to Fort Wilderness and experience the absolute best buffet in the world. The food is great and its not overly expensive. They also have a petting zoo for the kids and pony rides. They also have all of the boating and biking activities that CBR has. Im not trying to down the CBR in any way because I love it there too, but I just dont think any of the resorts compares to the WL.

Thanks to everyone for the great advice!!!! I'll check out the posted web sites. You've been very helpful!!
