I am staying at Disney for an offsite conference in June. I have an AP rate at the Swan, but am really thinking about moving to the CBR.

Pro... Swan is a more deluxe hotel
Con... Swan charges for parking and parking is farther away. I will have to drive to the Gaylord every day for the meeting.
Pro.... Swan is walking distance to Epcot in the evenings
Pro... I really like the CBR themeing and feel.

I need to decide SOON. I just checked Disney.com and all that is showing for my dates at CBR is a King Room. (CSR has all room types, but before you suggest it... I really don't like it and will stay at the Swan over it any day)

So what are your thoughts.

I've stayed at the Dolphin and CBR, but not the Swan. Since I loved the Dolphin and thought CBR was OK- I would choose the Swan over CBR. The Swan has similar qualities of the Dolphin and shares the themed pool. However, my #1 reason for choosing the Swan would be the walking distance to Epcot and having queen beds instead of doubles (which might not be a problem if I didn't bring my kids). :sunny:

That's part of the problem. I have stayed in both and like both.... LOL!

I do give the Swan the edge on beds however.....

Ameneties, pool and proximity to Epcot, Studios and other hotels and restaurants can not be matched.

Just back from the Dolphin and it was wonderful. We would never choose to stay at a moderate over a deluxe.

I am actually leaning more and more towards CBR. I have stayed at the Swan a lot and it's not "Disney feeling" to me. Plus I like the food court etc better. The last time I stayed at the Swan on TWO nights the main pool was "closed" due to receptions for the conventions. I have to say that REALLY turned me off....

The prices are actually fairly comparable (except for the last night when I couldn't get a discount at the Swan) I think the Swan just reminds me of the normal hotels I stay in week in and week out....

I have stayed at the Swan and CBR. When we go we usually stay at CBR. I would have to agree, when we stayed at the Swan it did not seem to have that Disney feeling either. The food court at CBR is a big plus.

My wife is going down for some meetings in July and I am going with her. We were going to stay at CBR, but I talked her into staying at the Dolphin. We will not have the kids with us and we wanted to be able to go to Jelly Rolls on the Boardwalk. We spend alot of time in EPCOT and MGM, so for convenience we decided to stay at the Dolphin.

I have not stayed at CBR or the Swan but my vote would be for CBR. The reason I picked them is because unlike the Swan, CBR is owned by WDW & if I were to stay at the Swan to me it would not feel the same. Yes I know you get a lot of the same things at the Swan like you get at WDW owned Resorts but this just my opinion only, so you don't have to agree with me if you choose not to.

We are not much help to you because we all disagree! :) I have stayed at both CBR and the Swan. I would choose the Swan. Granted, no mickey soap, but the oatmeal soap is wonderful; no mickey wake up call, but just look out your windows......how much more disney feel does one need?! :thumbsup2

Actually last time I was there they didn't give out Outmeal soap... so that's no longer on the plus side LOL!

I think for this trip where I am going to have to access the car a lot, parking close to my room may be the deciding factor. The Swan/Dolphin really turned me off with the parking fee. At either place I have to pay the internet fee and I just think I am being ripped off to pay for parking and gym access.. Get real and RAISE the rate to include those basics. Even the Marriotts I stay at on business give free parking and gym. The Swan/Dolphin are nickel and diming me to the tune of about $30 a night....(unless they are in big cities like Chicago)

My last post was actually the decison maker... I started thinking about all the extra fees. That brings the rate way up and while my company will pay it, I just think it's wasteful. (I know CBR doesn't have a gym, but I can jog around the lake which I like to do there.)

I know you have already made your decision but just thought I would weigh in anyway. :) The Swan doesn't have the WDW "magic" to me. The "magic" also takes a huge hit when I have to pay for parking there. I much prefer any onsite resort. :wave2:
