CBR vs. Boardwalk

I've already booked a split stay starting at CBR for 2 nights and then moving to Poly for 5 nights.

I'm considering moving to Boardwalk for the first 2 nights with the new deal. Because I'd already booked my package we locked in the old ticket prices. If we switch to the new deal we'll have to pay the new ticket prices. Is it worth $400 to stay 2 nights at Boardwalk?

Our first half day is at MK, then HS and Epcot. I love the idea of being close and we usually go back to the hotel for an afternoon swim/relax. So many decisions!!!

Thanks for any input!

$400 total for BWI or $400 more to switch?

I love the Boardwalk and the location is pretty fabulous, but I'm not sure I'd bother for just two days if it's $400 more. I will share that I stayed at BC then BWI before staying at CBR last year and was rather hesitant about going mod, but we absolutely loved this resort. So quiet and peaceful. We watched the Epcot fireworks from the bridge and hung out in the hammocks on the beach. It really is a lovely resort.

Being closer to the parks is great, but I think you just have to figure if that matters enough to justify the extra cost. And obviously for MK it won't really be any different only for HS and Epcot. FWIW, the bus ride to HS when we were there (including wait time for a bus) was only 14 minutes. Faster than I walked from BWI to HS. Epcot was another 5 minutes. So even being that close it's not a drastic difference in actual time.

I adore staying at Epcot area resorts. I have also stayed at CBR and also love that. However, if you're going during high crowd times, being able to walk to and from two parks to the BW is a great time saver (especially if you hate waiting at the end of a long day like I do). When it comes down to it though you have to decide if the location is worth the fee.

It's $400 total including the ticket increase. Thank you for your reply!! It's a hard decision!

Wow, you are deciding between our 2 favorite resorts. BWI is our favorite with CBR right behind it. We only stay at BWI when we can rent points as that works out to be the same $$. I have to say, I would not be able to justify $400 more for 2 nights.

Thank you everyone! I hate to keep asking questions, but I'm still struggling with my decision. Since I've waited so long the only rooms available at BWI are now club level deluxe. We are a family of 6 so somewhat limited on room choices.

I've currently booked the deluxe dining plan for our first 2 nights and OOP for our 2nd half. This is the first trip for my younger 2 so I've booked quite a few character meals. 1 child is free, 2 disney kids and 3 disney adults coupled with buffets leads to a pretty decent savings for us.

Here's my question, I am considering booking the club level room and switching us to the regular dining plan and canceling some of our ADRs. We'd use the lounge for snacks our first night, breakfast and afternoon snacks our 2nd night, breakfast and possibly afternoon snacks our 3rd day depending if our room at Poly is ready.

With 2 little ones I value the idea of a quick walk back from Epcot or boat ride from HS rather than a possible standing room only bus. We will for sure go back in the afternoon on day 2.

I guess my question at this point is more of a "is club level worth it at BWI?" I sort of feel like a move from CBR to Poly might not be as exciting since they're similar resorts. My husband thinks BWI is stuffy (we've stayed there before) but I think he'll enjoy the club level snacks.

My other choice is just a split stay at Poly using the summer deal/dining the first 2 nights and then switching to the TA deal the last 5. Hopefully we wouldn't have to switch rooms doing that.

Thanks again, this travel planning is exhausting!!
