How far is it from the CBR skyway station to the Riviera hotel (the hotel itself, not the skyway station there? Can anyone give me a comparison to something else (like "It's about as far as going from X to Y). I'm going from DHS to have a meal at the Riviera, and I'm trying to decide whether it's better for me to wait in line to transfer at the CBR or to just "scoot" over there myself. I'll be using an ECV, not walking, and I really don't mind the ride, whether it's under my power or not. I just want the most efficient way.

It's about a half mile according to Google maps. What time of day? If it's not around park open or close you probably won't have to wait long at all.

We stayed at Pop last week and did a Skyliner tour. We went at lunchtime and there was no line at the CBR station to get on for Riviera. We'd never been to CBR, so we walked around and by then realized we were close enough to just walk over to Riviera. The last maybe third of the walk was very hot, though, as it's in direct sun! Not sure how much you care about that :)

We took the Skyliner there from Epcot. Was very nice. The walk is relatively short for a disney walk. Only took about 7 minutes. They have a covered walkway part of the way, as I recall. You can wait a bit during opening and closing times, right now, as they are only loading one party on each cab. Might be about a couple blocks. That said, I am not good with distances. I didn't feel it was a bad walk at all.

Since you won't be trying to go at park opening or closing, I think it would be faster to just transfer to the Riviera line at the CBR station. But if you have time to kill or wanted to see CBR, you could just go down the ramp, cross the road at the first crosswalk, and then follow the path along the water over to Riviera. Its pretty much a straight shot once you get across the road. As others have said, a 7 minute or so walk is accurate. Maybe akin to walking from the Epcot main entrance to the Mexico pavilion? I might be a little off base with that, but still gives you a feel for the distance.

We walked from the lobby of CBR to the Riveria and it was an easy walk. We took the path that runs on the side of the lake that is on the right as you look toward Riviera. But the distance you have to travel could be longer or shorter, depending on the location of your building.

Although I don't plan on going at park opening or closing, it will be July, so when someone mentioned how hot the walkway was, that interested me. I'm not a fan of the heat, but I'm DVC, and am using up points that expire August first.

We stayed at Riviera and did HS two days. First time walked to CBR station. It was about 10 minutes but crazy hot, and the wait for the skyliner was all in the sun so we were miserable from the heat when we boarded. Waited for the Riv skyliner next time and it was so much better. Waited in the shaded walkway at Riv and transfer at CBR was quick and easy. We were in the park at 9:40 on a 10am open that way versus 9:20 when we walked to CBR but it was so much more pleasant.

Forgot to add, walk was at least 10 minutes. It was 0.7 miles but we had kids so were slow walkers. It was about the distance you walk to get to the Frozen ride from Epcot gates.

Thanks for your experience. Sounds like maybe going to CBR and walking wouldn't be too fun in July.
