CBR: Room location

Not paying for preferred location because I really don't mind walking. But should we request a specific building -- it seems that the best location after the preferred is Jamaica -- ? any opinions.

Aruba or Jamaica. Both are just a quick walk over the bridge to OPR & the main pool. I've always stayed in one of these two 'villages'. My preference is Jamaica.

I also have to say that our bldg. in Barbados (#16) was not a bad walk at all. I agree to ask for Aruba or Jamaica but if you get there and those are gone ask for Barbados, espeically 14,15 and 16. I loved 16 because we were sort of in between the quiet pools in Barbados and Martinique. We liked having two choices so close. Barbados is also very close to the Custom House so if you are using ME its a short, easy walk to the stop.

I always try to request a building... no matter what resort.
But.... be aware it is only a request.
The last time we stayed at CBR I thought.... all the buildings are fine.. we don't mind too much of a walk... except it would have been WAY TOO FAR to be in Trinidad South. So I just put in my request for ANY building EXCEPT TS...
Well.... wouldn't you know it, that is what they tried to give me!!
After trying to explain that I didn't want my 12 yo DD walking all that way to get food or drink, I just told them to give me the phone and I would call another resort. I was very calm.... spoke politely and even joked around with my DD during the conversation. But there was just no way we were staying in TS. Well, they moved us to Martinique.

We were in Building 41 in the village of Jamaica. We had a room that faced a very pretty courtyard. We were just a three to four minute walk from the bus stop and just a five minute walk to the food court/main pool/arcade. I liked the fact that Building 41 wasn't right beside the Jamaica pool but we could walk there in just about a minute. We also found that Jamaica was, oftentimes, the first to pick up and drop off on the bus line. Hope this helps, Lisa

Both times we were at CBR we were in Jamaica bldg 44. It was nice, quiet and convienent to OPR.

If you request non-smoking -- could they put you in one of these rooms or are you guaranteed not to be in them?

On that note... we requested non-smoking at CSR... apparently smokers did too -- that was our only complaint -- someone littered cigarette butts every morning outside our door. Mousekeeping was good about picking up the butts. No offense smokers -- but I don't like your butts outside my door.
