We will be staying at the Carribean Beach Resort during the last week of September (first ever trip to WDW).
Is there a certain building that I should request to be in for easy access to busses, food pavillion, etc?
Any tips about CBR?
Anything will be appreciated. Thanks!

Although I have not stayed here yet, I have been researching this resort and unless you want to pay more for a perfered room, the closest that I have found is either Aruba or Jamica.
Across the lake.
You can walk over the bridge and the food and other things are right on the other side.
I hope you find out more...I am interested too. It is a toss-up for me between the CRB or the CR.

I suggest that you read the CBR FAQ listed below. You can always find it under the Resort Thread at the top.

If you post in that thread you will find many people who can answer your questions about CBR.

My DH and I stayed at CBR in Jan. 02 and we loved it! It was our first trip to this particular resort and we were very happy with it. We stayed in the section (Barbados?) directly accross from the registration center or check-in bldg. Anyway, it was probably the farthest from the food court area but it was a very pleasant and wasn't a very long walk at all. Our walk gave us a chance to enjoy the rest of the resort which we wouldn't have seen otherwise. I know there are closer buildings to the food court area and the larger pool but we enjoyed where we were. All of the sections have their own quiet pool and their own bus stop. Our room was very bright and colorful and was very clean. The food court was also very bright and colorful and we were very pleased with the food selections. The only problem we encountered on that trip was "the cheerleaders" but luckily we only got stuck on a bus with them once. You won't have that problem going in September. We are also going in September but we are going to try out CSR this trip. You can't go wrong with CBR though, I bet you will be very happy there. Have a wonderful trip!

I stayed at CBR in 2002 and I was in Trinidad North building. It was a perfect location - right next to the main pool and food court.

I agree with Safetymom - you will learn a lot of information if you read the faqs thread on CBR. I thought that the preferred location charge wasn't starting until January - if that is true, it won't affect you.

We stayed at CBR in 2001 and 2002 and it has become one of our favorite resorts. WE usually get a king bed since it is just DH and I, and it has a pretty decent amount of space and one time it automatically gave us a waterview as well. But, in all honesty, if we didn't get a king room, I wouldn't ever pay extra for the water view because when we got the water view, in Jamaica on the 2nd floor, not once did I sit and look out the window and gaze at the water, and then when I thought to do that, I couldn't...because outside there is a balcony and that blocks your view while in the room, and really how long can you sit out on a balcony that isn't private or very big? I feel it is a waste of money. You can see my 2002 CBR pictures and a few at AKL at the link below.

I stayed at the Carribean Beach for 2 weeks last month. When we checked in we asked for a room in Jamaica, purely because I liked the colour of the building. We got a room in Jamiaca, building 43. It was perfect for us, we enjoyed the short walk across the bridge over to the food court. We were also close to the bus stop and usually first to get dropped off and picked up.

The preferred building charges don't start until Jan. at CBR. I also agree that water view isn't worth it at CBR. I would rather pay for the preferred building because from many of the water view rooms it is hard to actually see the water.

Jamaica 45 looks like a nice building to me...it is right by the bridge, so your walk is nice and short...plus it just looks nice.
