Two weeks would be more than enough time to do a split stay and experience both; however, if a split isn't an option, my choice would be CBR. We've never stayed at POR and while I think it looks like a beautiful resort, we loved everything about CBR. I will say our CBR stay was a lot of years ago, but I found the surroundings beautiful and relaxing. When all of the current construction is completed, I imagine it will be just as beautiful (if not more) than it was before. With that said, I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. If both resorts appeal to you, I'd choose the one that the theme/decor appeals to you the most. Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

That’s probably CBR I think but when I look at this forum everyone says POR is better which is making me think different

Yeah, the DIS told me I'd regret our switch to CBR after enjoying our 4 stays at POR. We wanted a Free Dining package and POR did not have any availability for our dates and CBR did. We are so glad we did it anyway as we fell in love with CBR. It's our favorite moderate by far and 2nd favorite resort in all of WDW right behind Boardwalk.

Since you're not going until later next year I have no problem recommending CBR. If you were going soon, I could not.

I freely admit a large majority will recommend POR, but from reading your past posts I know you really want to try CBR.

In UK, POR should be in free dinning hopefully

The free dinning in uk should hopefully be out at start of April. So it really is make our mind up time now before booking

I love both resorts, that would be a tough pick for me. They're both great. I know you dont want a split stay but for a two week trip though, I feel that one week at a resort would be enough. I'd totally split and experience both resorts. But that's just me. Whichever you choose, it'll be great. :) If you prefer the look and theme of CBR better, then you should go with your gut and book that resort. It really is beautiful.

I’d steer clear of CBR until all the construction is over - I think mid2019. Not sure but from what the DIS reported it’s currently a construction site with some rooms. I feel like for the level of disturbance I would be seeing and dealing with the room rates should be much lower than they are. I liked it better when it was port Royale. The theming isn’t my favorite. I’ve done POR and love it. It’s one of our fave MODS. We enjoy the theming, pools, peaceful and gorgeous landscape, easy transportation. There’s a boat to DS too. I love the river view rooms in the magnolia mansions.

Thanks for your advice. I wouldn’t be going until November 2019 though

Have you not seen all the hail we are having here .................

While CBR is not high on our list and I have issues with it ............ I always say trust your gut on theme.

The fact that you are two young people with no kids in tow, the size would be less an issue. If you want that tropical warm sunny feel, then pick CBR. POR is quiet southern charm with lots of shade and trees. lovely .... but completely different atmospheres. But make sure you don't book a Pirates room, two weeks in one of those UGH, I wouldn't want more than a couple days in those.

Oh then it should be smooth sailing. Go with the theming you prefer. I’d give CBR a chance with brand new rooms.

They won't have brand new rooms. The construction has nothing to do with the rooms themselves.

Just a guess here, but maybe she was referring to the fact that the rooms were refurbed a couple years ago? Has it been 3 years now...I think? The "new" rooms are very nice btw. :)

My boyfriend and I are in our 20s and LOVE CBR! We stayed there last month and I’ve already booked our june trip there since. The pool is great, there’s a ton to explore at the resort itself, plus the trip to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is very short.

How short is the bus trip to epcot and hs?
