We are wanting to try CBR or POFQ. Which would you choose and why ? How is the bus service for each ? I know the CBR is a large resort, what are the chances of getting a room where you wont have to walk a mile each day ? Thanks for any information :)

POFQ. The grounds are small and well manicured. Very romantic. There are boats that take you to DTD.

We have never stayed at POFQ but we love CBR. CBR has beautiful tropical colors and foliage. It has white, sandy beaches with lounging hammocks and friendly ducks. Each village has its own quiet pool if you don't want to walk to the main pool. We always stay in either Jamaica or Aruba village because this is a very short walk across the bridge to the main food court, gift shop, and pirate pool. The rooms are quite large with two double sized beds in them along with two double sinks with extra storage for your things. The bus stops are very close to each village and very easty to get to. We have always had good bus service. CBR is a great resort and size has never been an issue for our family.

I've read many post they like POFQ because of the boat ride to DTD. I really don't think DTD is anything special so I guess I'm not sure why many think it's such an advantage. I'm staying at CBR primarily because of the wife who likes the beach.

I have stayed at both and LOVE POFQ! The smler grounds, newer rooms, etc are enough to change my vote. I would never stay at CBR again... The grounds are too spread out and too many people because of the size.

We are going to Disney at the beginning of Sept. and are staying in a moderate - POFQ - for the first time. I see lots of good reviews of POFQ and what really sold me was that they just refurbed the rooms and they have queen beds. Can't wait to get there!

Have a great trip!

I like the idea of a smaller resort like POFQ, but I also like the tropical beach theme. I'm still undecided, but leaning towards POFQ because it's more compact.:confused3

We LOVE POFQ... but really, I think it comes down to which theming you prefer.
Going with friends in early December and they have their hearts set on CBR for the theming and the pool. No matter how I try to tell them how big a resort it is, how don't get your heart set on the pool as may be too cold too swim.... and how great POFQ is, how nice and small and pretty with newly redone rooms with queen beds... nope, my friend is stuck on the theming at CBR. I know if could convince her to stay at POFQ she'd have a miserable time and not like it just because in her mind she'd be thinking CBR would have been better. The theming at POFQ doesn't appeal to her, so she could care less how much more convenient a stay there will be compared to CBR.

CBR... well, the pool is nice. We're doing 2 nights this summer there due to the pool, and it being our cheapest option for a resort with zero entry pool, which is a must for my son. The pirate playship pool area is a lot of fun for the kids, too! The Nemo rooms we find to be really cute. The grounds of the resort are very nice, too.
Downside we find is the size and the walking. Even preferred rooms we find a still a bit of a hike! And HATE that internal shuttle. Don't know if always runs so slow... but last time we checked in and stood there for 25 minutes waiting for it to take us to our village. ugh! Hate having the check-in/main building separate and far away.
POFQ... very pretty the theming, but is so nice how compact is all is to everything the resort has to offer.

I've stayed at both and have to agree with the majority, POFQ has my vote!

CBR is nice, I'd even argue that it's nicer for families with young children because of the multiple pools and larger food court as well as the specialty themed rooms but POFQ has a charm and character that CBR lacks. If you're going to Disney for family, I'd consider CBR over POFQ but if you're going to Disney and want to be 'immersed' I'd say POFQ.

When we checked in at CBR, we asked if we could be near to the main building but they couldn't make a switch and unfortunately, our room was so far that it was more convenient for our family to drive or take the bus around to the main building. The lake was really enjoyable though and was super nice for evening strolls. It was nice that the CBR bus only stops at CBR but with the multiple stops throughout the resort, it was still time-consuming.

POFQ is gorgeous and I honestly can't rave enough about it's charm. You don't need to be worried about being too far from the main house which is always a plus. The river along the border also makes for great walks and considering how close POR is, that's also a great opportunity for more perks! POFQ's pool does get crowded but it's pretty big. Honestly, when we stayed at POFQ, we didn't get into our car once during vacation which was amazing, unlike when we were at CBR. When I was there the buses rarely stopped at POR because they were full enough when we departed from POFQ but we also were there in July so crowds may be different. Regardless, when the bus did stop at POR it wasn't too bad, it was nice seeing the scenic-ness of POR - I would say that that stopping at both POFQ and POR is comparable to stopping all throughout CBR.

I'd say POFQ! :goodvibes Have an amazing vacation!

Well since we stayed at CSR last year and loved the resort it was beautiful but hated all the walking because it was a large resort. I think we will stay at POFQ.
What is POFQ's food place like ? I havent heard much on it except to go to POR and eat at their service resuarant.

I would say that their foodcourt is typcial of the mods - you'll find the staples like pizza and chicken nuggets but there are also a few nods to New Orleans and Cajun flavored foods as well. Definitely get some beignets while you're there (not as good as the real ones but they're still delish!). The theming is cute, nothing spectacular and the foodcourt overall is smaller than CBR. But then again, so is the resort so it all works out. I actually like the small-ness of it, you're not walking a mile between getting your food, your drinks, and your table . There's outside eating and nice views over the pool/resort which I thought was a plus over CBR.

Definitely try to make it over to POR for Boatwright's if you can!

We love CBR and had an amazing stay in Nov 10 but the food court and the bus service was terrible! The village pools were not heated and the main pool was a zoo

Last month we stayed at POFQ and it was the complete polar opposite of CBR. The bus service was excellent, loved the food court and the pool and hot tub was never busy, in fact the only people that used the hot tub were adults and at the CBR we could never get in it because it was loaded with little kids.

The POFQ is much smaller and quieter, more relaxing, than the CBR

I prefer POFQ, although there are perks to each.

POFQ - I love the grounds here - it's really beautiful and relaxing. I also really like that it's so small and compact. Even if you're in a building further away from the food court/lobby/bus stop, it's a very short walk. We never had to wait long for a bus. Sometimes the bus shares w/ POR, but it never added too much time to the trip and there was almost always room to sit. The boat to Downtown Disney is convenient and just a nice change of pace if you're heading there. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the food court. It was smaller than most (this really only bothered me because I'm vegetarian and there were hardly any options - although it is smaller than other food courts I'm sure omnivores will have plenty to feast on). OH, BEIGNETS!! :cheer2: So delicious. I would most definitely stay here again.

CBR - Rooms were cute. We had some pretty terrible bus service, although it could have been just plain bad luck. It just seemed very inconsistent (3 going to MK in a row, but then waiting over half an hour to DHS). I personally didn't like how spread out it was. We had a preferred room that was close to the bus stop, but we were far from the lobby and the food court (since we stayed in January, that meant a VERY chilly walk to our room or wait for the internal bus). The food court did have more options than POFQ, although some stations closed fairly early. I probably wouldn't stay at CBR again, unless someone I was traveling with really wanted to go.

We LOVE POFQ~ smaller resort= less walking!
the food court is average of the other moderates~ we typically eat a few dinners here and breakfast. Good selection!
