CBR or CSR.......

We stayed at CSR in November and loved it! They had the greatest pool and playground area! I don't know if you have kids with you, but the playground was a real playground, instead of just 1 play structure. It is sort of tucked back behind the pool, so easy access for the kids, or if you don't have kids, that's fine too... the playground kids won't bother you. I liked that the pool bar had food choices too. The Pepper Market was yummy, lots of choices. There were lots of bar options for nighttime... my mom and I went and sat out at the bar by the lake, and I think there's a new lounge too.

We ended up way in the back in Ranchos 6b, and I did not find it too far to the pool (4 min.) or front (about 8min.), and we were right next to the first bus stop which was great. CSR had the best bus service of any of the resorts I've visited... it was so quick. :)

Good luck with your choice!

There is many reasons to stay at CSR - Read my report -click on the link in my signature.

It was tough to decide but here are my reasons

The location of CSR is pretty Central at WDW

Central air ( I hate the wall units- they are noisey, keep my awake and I feel
like it's Motel 6 with those)

Pillow top mattress

Busses dedicated to the resort - We went in late January and the only time someone had to stand on the bus (for us) was after illuminations

The convention thing is a plus because they are not on the bus or at the pool they are at there meetings:goodvibes

I love how serene it is- look at Buzz's website- it should convince you

( it was wonderful coming back in the evening - the feel of the resort help desensitise me from all the hype of the day)

Liked the pepper market

Loved the Mayan Grill- I think this restaurant is underated

Definitely CSR!
This mod is so close to being a deluxe! I like it better than BWI, and I stayed there twice. I could list so many things, but my fav was the great CMs, the grounds and services. It never seemed crowded, and I think that's because it's used for conventions. Those guests are busy elsewhere, and out of sight. The busses were also a huge plus. Was never bothered by the golf carts, rarely saw them. If each building didn't have an elevator, I couldn't stay there. There is now Rix Cafe for really good take out food and great coffee, so if PM is busy, you have another choice. Isn't that what it's all about?...Choices?

Another vote for CSR... This resort offers so much more IMHO.. the buses are top notch , the fitness center. Pepper market is a counter service credit and is such a great value with huge portions and variety. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is awesome!!! :thumbsup2

I really can't put my vote in since I have not stayed at either. However, we are staying at CSR in Nov & I can't wait. I will be completely stunned if we don't like it. Buzz's site is incredible & the pics get me through the days until we get to go.

I have stayed at both and I really enjoyed the CSR much better. I liked the themeing and the layout of the CSR. Another poster had something about the golf carts at the CSR but I saw very few of them when I stayed there this month.
I like the choices at the Pepper Market more than the food court at the CBR and the food was very good at the Pepper Market. And the bus service to and from the parks has been the best of any of the resorts I have stayed in before.
I enjoyed my stay at the CSR so much that I booked another stay there in December.
For some reason I was always hesitant to stay at the CSR, it seemed so big and the thought of it being a convention resort made me think that it might not be "Disney" enough. Now I am sorry that I did not stay there prior to this. You really do not run into the conventioneers that much and once you are at the resort you just enjoy the serenity of it all.

Although I do prefer the selection at Pepper market at Coronado I prefer not to have to pay the service charge at a counter service... (I think it was either 10% or 15% ontop of your bill), therefore we usually end up at Caribbean Beach.

While I have no problem paying a gratuity/service charge at a buffet, they take your plates away. Since this is not a buffet they take your mug (if you purchased one) and get your drink.

We are planning on Oct. or early Nov. and I really wanted to try CBR because of their new pool area. Are the 2 resorts the same size? I wanted preferres area at CBR, but it's not available. If we got a room at CBR far from the food court, how long a walk is it. We do get the mugs, and use tham alot at the food courts. And are the beds really better and CSPR over CBR?

Thanks so much

CBR is larger, mostly because it has a 45-acre lake in the middle. However, there is a bridge across the lake to the food court area (Old Port Royale) which makes it a quick walk from Jamaica or Aruba. If you request Jamaica or Aruba, or even the non-preferred half of Martinique, you will have a 5 min. or less walk to the food court. Barbados isn't much farther. Trinidad South is a longer walk.

I believe the mattresses at CBR were all replaced in the last couple years -- we were there last year and the beds were just great!:thumbsup2

I believe they still have the "internal" bus... which goes around...

CBR is a great place to stay. Having stayed at the 2 furthest resorts from Olde Port Royale, it is not that bad of a walk. And with the size of the resort, it does not feel like your are cramped. Also a plus is that each section has it's own pool.

We stayed at CSR in 2007 and enjoyed it very much. The main reason I chose it, though, since I think all the mods are pretty, was because I heard CSR had great bus service. That is important to me and they didn't disappoint in that area. I would stay at CSR again because of that and it's central location. It didn't seem to take us very long to get anywhere.

I didn't like Pepper Market any better than POR's food court, so PM was not a plus, imo. At this point, what would draw me to try CBR would be the newly renovated pool, but I wouldn't stay there until it was done. We like trying new resorts, but also heard of the same types of bus problems at CBR as we experienced at POR. Sometimes buses are hit or miss anywhere, I guess. CBR doesn't have elevators, I know that, so you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs if you are on the second floor.

So my choice is CSR, but might try CBR once the pool is done (late Sept?), because CBR looks pretty and tropical, I love the theming of all the mods, and would like to try all the resorts at least once. But geez, it would be hard to give up CSR's bus service.

If the size of the resort is a concern, don't stay at either. They are both big and depending on where you are, the walks could be long. I personally like how big the mods are, it gives me that much more opportunity to enjoy the wonderful scenery. Walking across Caribbean Cay or around Lago Dorado at night it just magical :cloud9:

CSR for me! I love having margaritas by the pool, eating at the pepper market and walking around the resort at night. It so beautiful.

CSR would be our only choice those two. The footprint of CSR is smaller than CBR, we love the three themes in one, the nicer food court, the awesome pool area and great transportation. We consider the theme "Southwest Tropical". You have everything from desert dry beds to beaches with hammocks. When the lights are on at night on the lake it is a stunning resort. They have extra amenities from the other moderates and we consider it the "deluxe of the moderates".

OMG!! That was sooooo our experience. Hated the golf carts!!! I also, did not like having to wait in line to get into the Peppermarket with tired kids after waiting in lines all day. We got our food to go. I will be staying at CBR in October for the second time, can't wait! We so enjoyed our experience at CBR so much more. I can not wait for new pool! :thumbsup2

Denise

Don't mean to be contrary...

But do you mean that you didn't wait in line to get food at CBR?

EG

CSR has my vote. I have stayed there twice and have had an awesome experience.

:surfweb: We have stayed and both and loved them both, we, my wife, dtr and son are returning to CSR this July for our second stay there. Both resorts are pretty big, you should check the boards here, someone posted ariel pictures of the moderate resorts and CSR dose not look bigger than CBR.
We stayed in a preferred room at CBR so we were right next door to the main building, food court, resturant, theme pool and bus stop so the resort didnt seem big to me:confused3, we stayed in Casitas #1 at CSR again a right next door to the pepper market, bus stop and about a 10 minute walk to the theme pool, so that that resort didnt seem overly big to me either.

Its Coronado Springs for us, we loved the food and pool and buses:thumbsup2
I sure you will have a great trip at either resort
