We have a trip booked at CBR beginning September 6th (moved from AoA). When I spoke with a cast member on the arrangements, she asked if we were celebrating anything, and I mentioned it's my daughter's birthday and my son's first visit. She mentioned that she would ensure they're recognized for that.

I'm curious as to whether or not we should check in at the front desk just in case they have something for the kids, or check in via the app and head straight to the room. Any experience with this?

To be honest everyone is celebrating at Disney. They always ask but don’t expect anything- if you do then know it’s real pixie dust. They have first visit and birthday buttons. Honestly so many people have celebration buttons on (birthday, anniversary, graduation, engagement, finishing chemotherapy, kindergarten graduation, first visit, selling most Girl Scout cookies, etc.). CM might acknowledge at restaurants or getting on ride and you might get a special dessert at a restaurant but those are rare. Too many celebrations.
I hope that doesn’t sound negative- just honesty. CMs always ask if celebrating and sadly can’t ensure anything.
Enjoy your trip!

Thanks! And not negative at all, I’d rather know what to expect now vs being disappointed on the trip. I agree, we’ve received buttons for almost anything in the past, which like you said, makes for many celebration buttons being displayed and lessens the rarity of them from a CM perspective. Thanks again!
