Yes you can see them, but not all of them (because of the trees the lower fireworks will be hidden) and depending on the wind / meteorological conditions you might not hear the sounds, but it is still a fun way to relax on the beach closest to Old Port Royale and sip on a beverage of choice. Youll wonder a few times, Is it over? Then some more will go off that you can see.
When we were down in March it was overcast and the flashes from the fireworks would reflect off of the bottoms of the low clouds, so even if we couldnt actually see the blasts, we could see the reflections in the clouds, which was still fun, and of course the bigger blasts that were above the trees were great. It was a fun way to spend our first night down at the resort since we didnt go to a park that day, but if you are going to be in a park, dont leave it just to watch the fireworks from CBR because it wont be nearly as good as seeing them in person and up close.
Btw, you can also see snippets of Fantasmic from the same beach at CBR, but very little, it was just something I noticed once or twice
As for the resort itself, we loved it. Very clean and nice. On par with a nice Hampton Inn or something similar, but with more pizzaz due to the theme, but similar in setup. It isnt a luxury hotel by any means, but it is very nice and worth the extra money to upgrade from a value resort and Id rather stay on site than offsite now that Ive stayed at an onsite. We might try a different resort next time down just to see them all, but the CBR was great and we will definitely go back, unless we wind up filthy rich, in which case Im sure well just stay at the Grand Floridian, haha.
