A good friend and her DH are going to WDW for the first time in Oct. Right now they are planning on staying at CBR. Just wondering if you can see illuminations fireworks or any of the show from this resort?

Also, and CBR advice/pros/cons would be great! Thanks!

We could. You can see them from the "beach" area by the main building, but we also watched them really well from the beach area - forgot the name of the area - but if you're looking at the map of the resort, it's the furthest to the right. The beach was completely empty. We had it all to ourself. Laid on the hammocks and watched the fireworks while the kids played on the slide.

You can see the fireworks, but you won't be able to really make out the music very well or obviously see any of the ground effects. We usually fill our mugs and then find a chair just outside of Old Port Royale and watch them one night.

The beach at Martinique is a great place to watch the fireworks. You can see some of the lower ones if you go up to the Custom House parking lot. Sometimes you can even hear the music.

For more CBR information check the FAQ's listed below. I also have the CBR map and lots of pictures on my website listed below.

Yes you can see them, but not all of them (because of the trees the lower fireworks will be hidden) and depending on the wind / meteorological conditions you might not hear the sounds, but it is still a fun way to relax on the beach closest to Old Port Royale and sip on a beverage of choice. You’ll wonder a few times, “Is it over?” Then some more will go off that you can see.

When we were down in March it was overcast and the flashes from the fireworks would reflect off of the bottoms of the low clouds, so even if we couldn’t actually see the blasts, we could see the reflections in the clouds, which was still fun, and of course the bigger blasts that were above the trees were great. It was a fun way to spend our first night down at the resort since we didn’t go to a park that day, but if you are going to be in a park, don’t leave it just to watch the fireworks from CBR because it won’t be nearly as good as seeing them in person and up close.

Btw, you can also see snippets of Fantasmic from the same beach at CBR, but very little, it was just something I noticed once or twice…

As for the resort itself, we loved it. Very clean and nice. On par with a nice Hampton Inn or something similar, but with more pizzaz due to the theme, but similar in setup. It isn’t a “luxury” hotel by any means, but it is very nice and worth the extra money to upgrade from a value resort and I’d rather stay on site than offsite now that I’ve stayed at an onsite. We might try a different resort next time down just to see them all, but the CBR was great and we will definitely go back, unless we wind up filthy rich, in which case I’m sure we’ll just stay at the Grand Floridian, haha. :cool1:
