You guys are wonderful. Got so much info from last post! We are going to CBR in Jan for dds college graduation and these boards keep the anticipation at high pitch every day. My question: I've read somewhere that you have a good view of the Epcot fireworks from one of the beaches...which beach? does this mean Illuminations? how much can you see? how crowded does that beach get during that time? do we need to take a blanket to sit on? do bugs bother you being so close to the water? We have seen Illuminations from the bridge in Epcot so we have gotten the full effect before. Thanks so much!!!

When we were there 3 weeks ago, I watched them one night outside the food court. You could even hear the music! I guess you could go over and sit on the beach next to the food court.

I thought that someone named one of the small beach areas to have a relaxed, unobstructed view. Maybe I'm not remembering it correctly. Thanks again.

I believe the best place is on the Beach area by Martinque. We saw some of the fireworks in July from Aruba; but not as many when we stayed in Barbados in 1995. It is Illuminations and you will see the larger fireworks that shoot up in the air.

The beaches have chairs for lounging and hammocks. Still you might want to bring a small blanket or beach towel for extra comfort or warmth if it gets chilly. We didn't have a problem with bugs; but we did wear a bug spray or lotion. The beach was relatively empty when we were there; I think most people were still at the parks.

Check out Safety Mom's site for FAQ. I know she has the answer!

Hope you enjoy your stay at CBR as much as we have!

Okay. It isn't letting me edit my post so I will answer the questions I missed in a new post.

Yes, it is Illuminations. You can see the fireworks that they shoot up into the air. You won't be able to see everything as some are low to the ground; but it is still pretty nice. I believe we heard the music, too.

The beach area has several hammocks and reclining lounge chairs. It is still a good idea to bring a beach towel or small blanket to cover them. Makes it a little more comfortable. We were never really bothered by too many bugs; but suggest that you bring a repellant of some kind as a precaution.

I don't recall the beach being too crowded as most people were still at the parks. The time we watched them we had the beach to ourselves. It was really nice and very peaceful and relaxing.

Hope this helps! Congrats on dd's gratuation. Disney is a great way to celebrate!

I recommend the beach at Martinique. You will know when it is about to start because the lights on Spaceship Earth will go out. So if you can see SE you will be able to see Illuminations. You can hear the music. Some nights better than others.

You won't see all of the low fireworks but will see the higher ones. If you need to make a trip to the Customs house that is a great place to see the fireworks.

We love doing this when we go to CBR!!

That's it! Many thanks to both of you. Can't wait to try it!

My friend told me the best spot to watch the fireworks in by the beach at Martinique, so that's where I will be in December::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

in 02 at cbr we stayed at north trinadad and saw the fireworks from the beach there.
