How are the buses I know there are 7 bus stops. I would like to know if someone thought it was not convenient to leave the parks and be the last bus stop. and is that for every park you leave. Right know I have CSR as my resort choice but my DH is not so thrilled. So I've been looking into CBR and really like the theming and the fact that a new pool is going in is great. If we get an oppurtunity to use them we are goig in Jan.. Is it going to be pirate themed. Can you and where can you see Illuminations from. I think the Martinque BLDG. would be my preference and how long would that be to the main pool. Sorry for so may ? but I am going crazy again with resort choices. CSR appeals me becasue of the buses and after leaving the parks they are so close. I have 2 kids (9and &7) . What to do!!!

TIA

I think the best thing to do is take a look at the CBR FAQ. Link is listed below.

Yes it will be pirate themed. Martinique has several buildings that are considered preferred and cost extra nightly.

I think CBR is very close to Hollywood Studios, Epcot and MK.

You will have a great time at CBR.

Martinique is mostly (if not all?) a preferred location building--meaning you'd have to pay extra to be assured one of those rooms. (You could get lucky, but it's unlikely.) IMO, the only negative aspect of CBR is that the resort is very spread out and you could end up with quite a hike from your rooom to the main area. The busses take one of two routes within the resort, so there is no one location that is always going to be "the last stop." I would steer clear of Trinidad South however. Not only is it a considerable distance from the main pool/food court, but many times we've noticed the busses are full before reaching that stop and don't even stop there. As far as Illuminations, you can see some of the fireworks in the sky, but that's about it.

My favorite location is Jamaica, we have been lucky enough to always get a spot that is not a super far hike to OPR. We enjoy the walk over the footbridge to OPR, especially at night when we are back at the resort and ready to have a snack, refill our mugs and just relax. Illuminations can be seen from the beach at OPR but it is nothing compared to being there at Epcot. But you can see some fireworks in the distance.

Bus service has always been fantastic at CBR, and we have no complaints at all about staying at CBR, in fact it is one of our favorites.

We prefer CSR over CBR (we have stayed at both resorts twice each) and busing and the food court are two of the main reasons.
It does take awhile to get around all the stops at CBR and this meant crowded buses for us. At CSR, there are less stops and we found the buses to be less crowded (maybe due to conventions, not sure). We also found the food court at CBR to be average at best while the food court at CSR has many more options and the food tastes better and fresher.
That being said, if you go with CBR, we liked staying in Martinique or Jamaica for best location. Avoid Trinidad south.

We stayed at CBR on our first trip and LOVED it! No problems whatsoever! We enjoy trying different things, so we opted to try some of the other moderates on the last 2 trips. We have been so disappointed with them. None compare to CBR! There are a lot of bus stops at CBR, but there are several at CSR, and POR & POFQ share buses so that makes a lot of stops there too. We stayed in the Jamaica section and enjoyed the 5 minute walk over to bridge to OPR to eat/swim/shop. We were also about 5 minutes from the Jamaica bus stop. The food court is big and has a lot of great choices. I can't wait to see the new pool!

Don't forget to take your kids sand toys so they can play on the white sand beaches at CBR while you relax on a hammock! :thumbsup2

We loved our stay at CBR. We stayed nine nights, didn't have a car and had the best bus service we have had in all of our WDW stays. It does take a bit of time to make the bus route but then there are some upsides to that:

No matter what section you stay at in CBR, you have a covered bus stop nearby. So you may spend some time on the bus, going around the resort but you wont' spend much time getting to the bus.

You don't share with other resorts. While staying at Boardwalk, I found out just how bad sharing with other resorts can be.

I just didn't find that having seven stops on the route to be a big deal at all. It didn't take that long and I think some of the reviews I have seen on other threads of "we had to circle the resort for 20 minutes picking up all those other stops" are a bit exxagerated!

CSR is very nice as well. It has four bus stops so not as many as CBR but still has multiple stops. Personally, I prefer the theming of the CBR grounds. I also liked the way you can see the high up fireworks of Illuminations from many places around CBR. The rooms at CBR are a bit bigger and they have double sinks with lots of storage. CSR bathrooms have one sink, no biggie but it is nice to have two sinks.

As far as food courts, Pepper Market is really good. It was designed to be that way since many people stay at CSR for conventions and they are on that property for days on end so they need really good food choices right there. For my family, we need something for the occasional quick breakfast or lunch, so all the Pepper Market choices were lost on us. We thought the food choices and service at CBR's food court were fine. We ate there most every day of our trip for either breakfast or lunch or just a snack and a mug refill. It was fine and met our needs as well as the other food courts at bot Port Orleans resorts and the values. Also, in regards to Pepper Market, the employees of the Pepper Market aren't Disney employees, I found them to be rude. And I don't like having to pay that gratuity, but that's just me.

You can't make a bad choice but I do have to say, for me, CBR is my favorite. I think you would like it too, give it a try!

CB and CS are both very nice resorts. They're both large, and depending on your building you could have long walks - at either one - to the lobby & food court area. CB has more bus stops, but is a little closer to some of the parks, so I doubt if you really spend any more time on bus transport with one vs. the other.

The biggest difference is the food courts. CB's is similar to most of the other mod and value resort food courts, while CS's is different, as someone describes above, and is a little more expensive.
