Caution: Coca Cola place in Epcot

I'm also one of the weirdos that likes Beverly. I didn't like it when I first tried it oh so many years ago, but I dig it now, I guess tastes change. I also love the watermelon one and I think its honey/lemon from Israel?

DS says the Beverly makes his mouth taste like he just threw up. His fave activity last trip, though, was standing near the machines telling unsuspecvting tourists that his favorite pop was the Beverly and they should try it!:lmao: He's a cute, innocent looking little guy, too, so several people fell for it!

Anyway, back on topic...it was probably Golfer's Vascutlitis. DD and I both got it last summer. However, if you want to test the poisonous pop theory, I'd be totally willing to subject my own calf for you! You pay, I spill! Deal?

Coke cleans corroded battery connections on your car...

so you figure the math..

Mythbusters proved that one wrong!!!!
Oh yeah and 13 years of automotive experience!!!
But still a funny response to OP!!!:lmao:

Except...that I actually did it, on the advice of a boyfriend at the time, and it WORKED. Immediately. It was frightening, and I remembered the sight every time I drank a soda after that.

My battery had died one night, a friend's boyfriend jumpstarted it, I didn't know I needed to drive for a certain period of time, I was pulled over b/c the cop couldn't see my front license plate (it was there, just pushed under...oh and to make sure I cover all my bases here..the cop initially was driving *towards* me, and made a U-turn after he passed me), I was so nervous about the pullover I forgot about my battery. The cop drove off, my car wouldn't start, I called the friend's boyfriend again and someone picked me up and dropped me at home...next day I called my boyfriend (well, casual date is more like it), he took me to the car. Just about fell over at how sick the corrosion on my battery cable connections was. Sent me across the parking lot to get a Coke, I brought it over (thinking he was thirsty), he poured it onto the connections. And inside of 5 minutes the corrosion was gone.

I've noticed that Mythbusters has been wrong before, because they don't set up all of their experiments all that well (hubby and I like picking apart their supposed, assumption-filled, "scientific" method), and while I didn't see that one, if I had it would have prompted an immediate letter to them, because they are wrong when it comes to real-life applications.

Just did some googling, and some mechanic said that the reason it works is b/c you take it apart and rinse the coke off with water...that didn't happen in my case. Casual-date just poured it right over... Not a water-based thing. Just Coke.

Odds are it was golfer's vasculitis - heat rash. You don't realize how much heat is reflected up from the pavement to your ankles and calves. I highly doubt the rash was from some sinister soda at Club Cool.

Not that I'm an expert on Coke products, but I can tell you this.....I had the same exact thing on my legs when I went to WDW, it was on the inside part of my ankles. It itched really bad, even burned at one point, the only thing that would make it stop hurting was getting into cool air conditioning and putting my legs up, when I got home and was able to just sit for a few days it stopped getting worse and then it made bruise like places where the welts were and it eventually faded away. It sucked but I didn't allow it to take away from my trip.
I did happen to look it up online and found exactly what this pp said about it, that it was a heat rash. Sorry it happened to you, but I guess a lot of people experience this in the humid, hot tropical sorts of climates.

EXACTLY what I was going to say!

And speaking of Club Station Cool, here's a story:

We've been going for years, and my group of friends has always loved the Japanese Vegibeta (sp?). One of my friends is obsessed with it.

A few years back, I thought I'd try to buy him a case of it for Christmas. Disney, of course, can't or won't sell it. I called a Coke distributor and they told me that they'd never heard of it, and that it probably wasn't sold in the US at all. They told me my only hope would be to go to Japan, or to maybe check a Japanese grocery in New York City. I pretty much gave up.

Then, this year, we actually went to Japan. My friend was psyched and started looking for it immediately. It was nowhere to be found in the endless rows of vending machines that they have (literally, everywhere). We asked a few people, and they'd never heard of it.

We ended up meeting up with a Japanese college buddy who lives outside of Tokyo. He'd also never heard of it, but did some research. Turns out that it was sold in Japan only briefly in the 80's or 90's!!!

What is Disney trying to pull! This is a fraud! (I'm kidding).

But it leads me to wonder about the other brands they sell (Beverly, etc...). Has anyone ever found any of them in their respective countries???

The UK one (Lilt) is sold here.

OP, hope your rash is better now.

Oh btw, whoever, said Coke is better than Pepsi must be mad, Pepsi is soooo much better. I can only stand to drink the flavoured Cokes.:)

Good ol' baking soda and water. :) Works like a charm, and I know because I've done it.

Baking soda also neutralizes battery acid. Probably won't be enough to kill your battery, unless you pull the caps off and empty a full box on the battery. ;)

Regular coke = better than Pepsi.
Diet Coke = worse than diet Pepsi.

I feel bad for the girl who threw up the Beverly, but I still LOL'd about it. :rolleyes1 Wonder if someone was taking her picture. Still LOL'ing.

We get the Coke products produced in Thailand here in Iraq....definitely taste different:laughing:

For some reason we get US Dr. Pepper.....seen fights over the last can:lmao::lmao:

Cleans pennies... not surprised it can give a rash. I stay away from colas.

Mezzomix is a bit of a German classic. It has been around as long as I can remember and still is. I was almost raised on the stuff.

Well, they may have pulled it off the shelves back then, but what about all that syrup left over? Feed it to those foolish guests at Epcot!

I believe Beverly was looked for and not found in Italy - could be the same situation.

A former colleague of mine had a bottle ob Beverly that he brought back from Italy on his desk. It came in a very pretty heavy glass bottle and it was bright red.

I tired something very similar to Beverly in Italy. It was a type of Fanta and it was dark blue/purple color (the name escapes me). I threw it out pretty fast. Mezzo Mix is quite popular in Germany, I had some there. They don't have good Diet Coke in Europe, its called Coca-Cola Light and it just doesn't taste as good. We love club cool, my favorite is the Watermelon stuff from China.

The watermelon soda is my favourite. I wish I could get this somehow. I also heard that there used to be a Lychee soda from Thailand. I would have loved to try this.

OP should seek medical attention...you need an appointment with Dr. Pepper;)

Am I the only one who thinks this whole thread is ridiculous?! :confused3

And it's gone on for 4 pages...:rotfl:
