if you had the nerve - regift back to them For example, if your MIL gave you something too big - regift it back to your DSIL. You can say, oh that was such a beautiful sweater you bought so and so, too bad it was so large. But, I think it will look great on you!

Or even, better like someone suggested - sell it on Ebay and buy Disney passes with it! Then thank your IL for the Disney trip.

Sorry for bumping this but I have to respond.


My "grandmother" (my adopted dad's mom) always would give her grandkids 5 dollars in a card for their birthday.....

I have to laugh because my husband's grandparents on both sides give $5 to us and our kids for our birthdays...their offering is one straight from their hearts, we giggle when we get it, it's just sweet!
The rest as to what your "grandmother" would do is just really mean...boy oh boy I can't even imagine the fit I'd be throwing
I just don't understand how people can be so mean spirited

Oh I was with her once when she complained that she didn't get a thank you for the 5 from another relative.

I told her to stop sending them and she won't lol.

Oh I think that is sweet too My "grandma" does it just for show though I do get a laugh out of it when they come, she is just crazy.

I understand your frustration but I'd rather have your problem than mine...

At least your kids get clothes that are TOO BIG for them & you can save them for later.

My MIL & SIL ALWAYS buy clothes to small for DD11. They refuse to believe how tall she is, I guess....(5'5" & 105 pounds). They always ask, & I tell them what size tops/pants to get.

Well, when DD opens the gifts, holds them up, & they're waaaayyyyy to small...my MIL or SIL always says..."I saw the sizes you told me to get, but they just looked way to big. You can exchange them if you need to."

Well, exchanging from Land's End or LLBean can be a pain.
Limited Too & Aeropostale, not so bad.

Last year, DD11 got a real nice jean jacket from my SIL....DS7 wears it.
