At one time we let one of our cats eat leftover table food, tuna water, little snacks, but we decided that the cats begging every time we ate was going to have to stop, and we also thought that maybe eating the people food caused the throwing up. It turns out he throws up just as much on just cat food. He still thinks he can get people food if he tries hard enough, even though it has been 5 years since he had any. One of our cats years ago liked all people food, including vegetables.
On the subject of cat food, since in the past the cats we had, not those we have now, had urinary problems, we have been feeding the cats urinary-help food. My son said he gives his cat sensitive stomach food and it stopped the throwing up. So we did that, and the throwing up stopped. And the cat developed cystitis. So now we feed what the vet recommended and so far so good.
