I just gave my cats a piece of cooked broccoli and both of them went nuts over it! Does anyone else have cats or dogs that eat weird things? I know my old cat used to love grapes, even though its a little hard for him to eat them.

Just wondering!

I have a Boston bulldog that will eat everything but Jello. She Loves veggies, all veggies. Tomatoes included. She likes to hang out in the kitchen while I am cooking, and she gets more excited about getting a bit of veggie than about meat. She is pretty keen on fruit too.

My dog loves the broccoli stems, but not the flowers. I guess it's just more proof that he's a trash hound. :)

Mine loves veggies too. It didn't take her long to learn the word carrot. She'd choose a baby carrot over a dog biscuit any day.

i have four cats and three of them love to eat fries from mcdonalds or bk. if one is not quick to get it another will steal it. they will also eat chips, cereal, etc.pirate:

Just as an FYI- I don't have time to look for links but it is out there...tomatoes are bad for doga as well as grapes. Grapes are not good for cats either. Potentially dangerous depending on the size of the animal and amount eaten.

a few lists had broccoli on them ...not sure how safe it is for dogs/cats?

My cat Looooovvvves french fries. He will beg for them, and then when I toss him one, he will pick it up in his mouth and shake his head back and forth like he is trying to snap the neck of a small animal!

He does the same "neck snapping" thing with donuts :confused3

My dog will eat anything but jello too. Except lettuce, she'll just lick the dressing off.
She really loves carrots for some reason. :confused3

I had a cat that would just about knock me over for anything salty. She didn't like people food otherwise....strictly a Science Diet kitty. Olives and potato chips were her favs. Really it was the olive juice. We would only give her the tiniest taste, because we knew it couldn't be good for her. The other cat didn't care for it. They both love tuna water, meaning the water we drain from the can of tuna. That is a huge treat. Again, we don't give much.

I always make sure that whatever I give my cats is ok for them. I learned that broccoli and other vegetables are good for cats, but again only in small amounts. I definetly know that grapes arent good for chickens. more specifically warm grapes. it gives them chicken pox?!

Grapes can cause Kidney failure in dogs, cats and most small animals. Raisins can even be worse because more are usually eaten.

I had a cat (the one pictured here) LOVED oranges or anything that had the taste of orange. This was actually kind of funny because I love anything that has the taste of orange. Oh yeah, He also liked gummy worms (only the orange ones) We would have to hide candy when we had it in the house because he would search EVERYWHERE in the house just to have an orange gummy worm. I sure do miss him though!!!:sad1:

This is funny because about two weeks ago I discovered that my cat likes broccoli. I was sitting at the table eating carrots and broccoli (cooked), and here comes Jazz, sticking his head in my bowl wanting a bite. Of course I'm like, "Yeah right. You're not gonna eat this, cat." But I gave him a little piece of broccoli and to my surprise, he ate it and wanted more! I gave him a little bit more, but not too much. Chowed it down. My other cat never liked anything that you wouldn't expect a cat to like, so this is a first for me.

Of course, I once saw this same broccoli-loving cat eat a piece of bird poop. :sad2:

My cat loves yogurt. Every time I take the foil lid off of the container he comes over wanting to lick the lid, regardless of the flavor.

My cat loves cookies. Those ones from Pillsbury with the decorations on them for holidays, and you just take out the cookie dough chunk and sit it on a baking sheet to bake. She LOVES them. She begs and whines for them.

I have one cat that goes crazy for olives, you can give her one and she'll eat it and act all drunk like she's on capnip.

One of our cats loves broccoli, green beans, asparagus - anything green - and corn. And if you are eating cereal, she'll drive you nuts til you give her some (cheerios are her favorite!). nd she loves tomato soup! She never really asks for meat - but don't even think about eating crab legs in the house - she'll jump up and steal them from you! The other two cats are indifferent about people food. I always thought it was strange that the one love veggies so much, but I guess it is more common than I thought!
