Category 7 A on The Wish

We are staying in a Deluxe Oceanview stateroom with a veranda on the Wish. It’s a category 7 and the description says the veranda may have an obstructed view. Has anyone seen pictures or a video? I’m curious as to how much of an obstruction there is. Thank you.

The circled area is a 7A (obstructed view) - so you lose some view on one end of it. As a bonus, you don't have a verandah neighbor on that side either and a little extra protection from weather/sun. We're sailing in a 7A next month - first time with a verandah room at all so I don't think a little obstruction will bother us.

We actually stayed in the "Navigator's Verandah" on deck 9 forward, starboard side (9514). It was great. The obstruction is so minimal it was unnoticeable to us. Unlike the Magic or Wonder these have glass so it is nicer in that respect.

Some of the 7A’s have very minimal obstruction, and some have more. The ones with the most obstruction cover, to my eye, just under half of the verandah: 7022, 7174, 7518 and 7670. There are also two with no obstruction, but an odd-shaped, smaller verandah: 7194 and 7690. The rest have pretty minor obstruction, IMO.

Edit: Sorry, I got turned around - the top one is 8170, on the opposite end of the ship (lower one is for size reference). It's pretty similar to 8520.

7194 is a category 5 e. It’s not a category 7 A.

This is our room for our September cruise - would love your review upon your return. Coincidentally, this is the exact same room number on our first DCL cruise ever (on the Dream), and that time we chose it for the oversized verandah and loved it! Decided to try a GT 7A room this time and just found out yesterday that this is our room number. So excited!

Gosh, that's pretty minor loss of verandah, especially compared to the "mini-verandah" 7A's on the Dream & Fantasy. I'd say you scored!

7194 is a category 5 e. It’s not a category 7 A.

No, it's actually a 7A on the Wish. On the Dream & Fantasy, 7194 used to be a 5E, but it got recategorized just recently into a 4E. There aren't any 5E's on any of the ships any more.

The room is awesome, I booked a GT 9B but got upgraded to 7A so no complaints! They also gave us an awesome tote bag that my wife loved.
