Catastrophe with DVC Member Services and a reservation.

Okay,

I need some reassurance from my DVC Posse.

Let me explain my situation and please give me any sign of hope!!! Please?

Okay...
We had BCV booked for 6nights in late October. I wanted to splurge and get the first two nights at the Poly w/Coinceirge. I called two weeks ago and it was booked up. I called today and it was available. We went through the whole $95 fee, conversion of pts to disney collection, blah, blah blah.

The phone message 2hrs later after DVC has closed for the day.

Oh, that Coinceirge room was not available, it's just a lagoon view.

Well, my whole idea was to book only at the coinceirge level. UGHH!!!!


Now, it's past the hour of DVC member services and I have to call them in the morning first thing.

The catastrophe:
My points got converted over to disney collection only for those 2nights at Poly.
My Visa was charged $95.
I probably now lost my BCV studio for those two days.


What is going to happen people? Am I Scr*wed? Am I stuck at Poly, Lagoon view only?

UGHHH!!!!

Please some one give me advice so as to keep my sanity!

I know you are frustrated but when you call in the morning ask for a supervisor right away and ask to have the tapes pulled. While they may not be able to “manufacture” a concierge room, once they know they were wrong they will certainly be able to at least put you back to where you were before the change.

It may take them a few days to make you whole but with time they seem to be able to make things work

You might be out of luck getting the studio back, as it's food and wine, but I am sure MS will convert your points back and refund you the $95 fee.

I would accept the following:
A refund of the fee/points and a studio, 1br or 2br at BCV for two nights.
A Lagoon View at 12pts per nights instead of the 54pts for two nights =))
Two nights at any resort on property at any available level.

Okay, so there are options for disney to make amends.

I agree with bookwormde. Take a few deep breaths, and relax. It will probably all work out in the end. MS is very good about makiing things right, at least that has been my experience. Keep us informed.

The $95 fee applies to all bookings outside the DVC resort system. The Poly is not a DVC resort, it is part of the Disney collection. The fee applies to all non-DVC reservations, except Disneyland, which is currently exempt. However, that may change when the Grand Californian DVC Villas open.

Sorry, but a catastrophe at MS would be a fire that included deaths. You just had an unfortunate problem.

You expect the Poly for 12 points per night When club level is 69 per night? I guess I'm just not reading the chart right. Hopefully they can get you straighten around. Good luck.

Not to get OT, but I think something is going on with MS. I called yesterday to check availability at HHI for March 2009, 1 bdrm.. Was 2 days past 7 mos. mark. The CM insisted the points were 30 something/night and said 5 days in March for 1 bdrm. was 179 pts!!! Inisisted on this! It was for Sun-Thurs, 17 pts. a night. I told her don't touch my contract, I calling back to speak with someone else! I told her she was waaaayyyyy off base with the points. What are they looking at in the computer?

Sorry! I meant to say that if MS can't get my BCV room back for the first two nights, that I wouldn't mind them charging me 12pts each night (cost of a studio at BCV that I originally had)....and giving me a lagoon view (which they booked, but I had specifically requested Coincierge).

Just a pipedream on that request!!!

Is it possible they are giving you a lagoon view room in another building but also giving you concierge access? This happened to us a few years ago.

Stayed at the Poly before our 10th anniversary cruise. Booked and paid for concierge but we were not in that building. We were in the one on the other side of the "marina" area. We had a great view of the castle but also a walk to the concierge area. Not really a big deal -- and nothing we chose to complain about - but it did take away from the convenience that usually accompanies that perk.

I do hope you get it all worked out to your satisfaction!

Yes, these "way off base" point totals we are seeing reported here the past few days leads me to think they have loaded the BLT points chart into the computers, and it's coming up on all resorts!
